I'm not what you would call a "girlie girl," so the idea of picking out outfits and posing for photos was completely new and a bit scary for me. We started with a phone call and Michael did a great job of walking me through outfit choices and suggestions. The day of, I met him at his studio. He was absolutely delightful. Professional, respectful, funny, calming, and flattering, the perfect combination to calm you down and make you feel good about yourself. He knew exactly what to say to help me relax and get the shot. What I loved most was the process. Due to the way the studio is set up, we could take a series of photos, then go and sit down and take a look at the photos. This allowed for us to discuss lighting, colors, and positioning. Before taking another series. After I choose the photos I was happy with, Michael "finalized them" with some minor edits and emailed me the final photos. Even then he was willing to make some changes. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Something I initially dreaded turned into an amazing and even fun time. I highly recommend Michael and will definitely return for future photography needs.

It was time for me to get some corporate headshots and my employer was not about to spend any money in hiring a professional for me. I decided I owed it to myself to put my best face forward. I searched for portrait photographers with a studio in Springfield, and Michael Epaul came up. First, I will say, that this trend of photographers not having a studio baffles me. I would never consider someone a professional if they did not have a professional work space! That being said, Michael Epaul Photography has a gorgeous, cozy studio, so you don't have to worry about a setting. For the ladies, or anyone interested, hair & makeup can be added to your session. This worked out well because it took the pressure off me of having to arrive at the studio in perfect condition. And then the headshots began. From start to finish, the process was streamlined. Prompt communication via text and/or email worked very well. I was given about 20 pictures to choose from; I picked one and was given 2 versions of it. And don't tell anyone, but....Michael was able to ahem....touch up things about me in a natural way (aka he took away the 10 lbs the camera adds). Overall, very satisfied with this portrait session and look forward to doing business with this photographer in the future. NOTE: on site parking, accepts credit cards, and photographer does more than just portraits (weddings mitzvahs and more!)

His pictures are beyond gorgeous -- check out his portfolio for yourself -- but he is also open to the direction that you provide in making sure that his style reflects your own. Not only is Ryan a great artist, since you can see that clearly online, but something less tangible to note is that he is great at understanding the different people included in your wedding and ensuring that everyone can work well together to get the shot. For our wedding, he worked with Leslie (a second shooter), who provided a strong balancing presence to ensure all stayed on track. The two of them together worked magic with our (not always easy) family and took some breathtaking photos. On the day we were overwhelmed, exhausted, and intermittently assaulted by mosquitos but Ryan and Leslie worked professionally and swiftly to ensure we didn't get bitten to shreds and the photos they somehow pulled together are incredible. You would never guess that we were anything other than blissfully happy, and seeing that joy in the images captured of our day really helps us remember how wonderful it all was (even if the day was also a whirlwind). We are so, SO happy that we were lucky enough to secure Ryan and our advice is to set up a meeting and seriously consider his incredible work.

When we met with the photographer Ryan for the first time, we knew instantly that we wanted to work with him just by the way he talked about his joy for his work. On top of his amazing personality he does incredible work, and his wedding packages were perfect for what we were looking for. This past weekend we had the chance to work with him on our engagement session which was included in our wedding package. When we met with Ryan we gave him a few ideas and he ran with them (in a good way). He took time with us throughout the afternoon and he made sure to capture the special moments between my partner and I. When he sent us a few of the photos before finishing his editing, we were blown away by his incredible skills and attention to detail. Overall, we are really excited and blessed to have chosen Ryan. He takes the time to go over what you need for your special day and listens to any concerns. I'm chronically ill so I had to take breaks during the wedding day and while I was resting, Steve and his assistant Ami were taking incredible pics in the reception hall. His pricing is top notch- you couldn't get a better photographer. I picked western MA for our wedding because I went went to college at Umass Amherst and love the area. When we first met Steve, he actually recommended Look Park in Florence, MA to us since where we originally wanted it at Mount Pollux would've been a huge physical strain on myself (the bride) due to being sick and also to older family members. When we saw the park, we knew that was where we were always suppose to have it at. He made the night one we will never forget, and I will forever be grateful we decided on Koloski Photography. Cecilia came over first to assess for a deep clean. She was courteous, gentle and understanding. She came up with a strategy to do the three most important living areas first, then return at a later date and tackle the rest in stages. The experienced team of four arrived with all the equipment and cleaning materials they needed for the job. They spent a full day deep cleaning, sorting, organizing and rolling back 20 years of neglect. The home went from a biohazard to a livable, immaculate space. Brightside has lifted a huge weight of concern from my shoulders and their intervention has allowed my relative to spend his remaining years in comfort in his own home. His positivity and expertise was so comforting not only on the day of the wedding but also during phone calls/engagement shoots/emails/ texts prior to the big day. We loved that he was very knowledgeable about our venue and knew all of the "secret" spots to take amazing photos.
