Only time I use a laundromat is when I am traveling. I was in Ely and needing to do a quick wash and dry. This laundromat was definitely dated, but it was super clean. To do a load in the washer was $3.50 and my dryer was 6 minuets for 25¢. If I remember correctly, my dry time was about 3 quarters. Only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars, is the limited space for folding and separating my laundry. Good thing, I only had one load. Fortunately, I got there early. As I was folding, the laundromat was filling up and I can only imagine the struggle for counter space when everyone is done drying. I did get a giggle, as new customers arrived, they'd ask me how things worked. I just advised them the best I could and told them that I was a traveler, too. read more

A good place to do laundry. The only concern is that it doesn't seem very accessible to people with physical handicaps, and it would be nice if it had a bathroom for patrons. Otherwise good. read more

It's a laundromat. It has many machines, what more do you want? A majority of the machines are the front-load "rapid" washers which is nice, because they only take about 20mn for a load, but the downside is that they cost about $4 per load. The dryers (Currently $0.25 per 6mn) are large and quick, our load of towels only took about 25mn on high. The biggest issue is that everything is so fast that we barely had time to run across the street to Front Porch for coffee, by the time the wash cycles were done. It took us less than an hour for all the laundry to be completed (two people clothes for a week plus, towels, some bedding, kitchen towels, etc). Keep in mind this place isn't huge and the weekends, with campers/canoers/etc coming through can make it a big busy. Hopefully you won't have to wait long since the machines are fast, but do try to plan accordingly. They also have a vending machine of various soaps etc in case you don't have your own. There is, of course, a change machine (but no ATM - hit up one of the gas stations for cash). In total there is seating for about 6-8 people inside and close outside. read more

Great place to do laundry especially when you'd rather be outside. visited with the owner who was busy cleaning tops of machines, sweeping and filling change machine. Fun guy to talk to. Hearty laugh and you could tell they are "on top of the shop". His wife also does a launder and fold service on site. We've used that over the years when we are at our cabin and stingy about our time with outside activities or just relaxing. it's worth every penny and she does a very professional job. read more

Three loads of laundry done in under two hours for just under $20 -- I love it! One can only take the stink of lake water and fish guts on their clothing for so long. :) They have what are probably super efficient front loading washers, but I stuck to the top-loaders. Then I was able to shove everything into one dryer which was fantastic. Use the dryers on the wall, they're huge and super efficient. I had three loads stuffed in one machine and everything was dry in under an hour. There is a semi-comfortable bench to sit on and a couple of chairs. There is a TV and magazines to read. I wish the coffee shop across the street stayed open a little later (most places in Ely close fairly early), but overall it's a decent place to get a mundane task done quickly. read more

Inexpensive washer/dryers. Nothing special about the place, gets the job done. Nice rocking chairs outside to sit in while ya wait.
