Was on my way through ely and needed a place to do some laundry. Stopped in here and it did the job without issue. Several washers and driers, coin machine, detergent dispenser, and places to sit. Private lot was a nice convenience. read more

Only time I use a laundromat is when I am traveling. I was in Ely and needing to do a quick wash…read moreand dry. This laundromat was definitely dated, but it was super clean. To do a load in the washer was $3.50 and my dryer was 6 minuets for 25¢. If I remember correctly, my dry time was about 3 quarters. Only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars, is the limited space for folding and separating my laundry. Good thing, I only had one load. Fortunately, I got there early. As I was folding, the laundromat was filling up and I can only imagine the struggle for counter space when everyone is done drying. I did get a giggle, as new customers arrived, they'd ask me how things worked. I just advised them the best I could and told them that I was a traveler, too.

We Rented Snowmobiles from Lossing's in Babbitt. The staff was great to work with, they answered…read moreall of our questions. In addition, we got basically brand new snowmobiles. They told us they order new ones every year. The trail started right across the street from their store, and we were able to spend a full day on the trails in the area. There wasn't a lot of snow, so the trails were a little bumpy, but we just slowed down a little and our family had a blast.

If size matters, the post office is Ely, MN is huge…read more Seriously, for a small town in the North Woods, this post office was bigger then some branch post offices I've seen in major cities. Big or small, the Ely post office was a great place to mail post cards back home from my vacation. The staff on duty were typical small friendly, which made it a pleasant experience.
