In the beginning I was very hesitant when it came to booking my hair and makeup artists, as it seemed like a lot of money to spend on this particular service. My loved ones tried to convince me I didn't need much assistance, as they thought I was already a natural beauty. However, I knew I wanted some special treatment on my happiest day. Therefore, I put a lot of trust in Elwynn + Cass's service and completely relied on them. I could already tell from communicating with Katelyn that they are very professional and know what they're doing. When Mandy and Danielle showed up in my hotel room, they were so relaxed and friendly which made me feel very comfortable. I didn't give them very clear instructions as to what I wanted, because I was hoping they would just use me as their "doll" and bring the best out in me. I only showed Danielle some hairstyles I had in mind, but didn't give Mandy any specific directions for the makeup. When I looked in the mirror for the first time, I was speechless, as I couldn't believe how fast they were able to turn me into a princess. These ladies did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I was completely THRILLED with both the experience and my look. I don't wear makeup in my daily life so was super worried about feeling TOO made up on the day, but obviously knew I couldn't go without. I also have nice hair and definitely had a look in mind (disney princess (Elsa) meets effortless mermaid just washed up on shore at a music festival-- that's a thing right?!?) Needless to say, I don't think I am just easy to please. :) From the hair and makeup trial to the day of, I just felt like they completely got the boho glam look I was going for and totally nailed it. They also made me feel totally relaxed and at ease. I was like hanging out with great girlfriends who just happen to know how to make you look GORGEOUS. NBD! The day of the wedding they traveled to our rental house in La Jolla and did my sister, my mom and I up for the wedding. We had the BEST time! I felt relaxed and pampered and when I got to look in the mirror, seriously first look- I was like PERFECT! DONE! I was ready almost a full 30 minutes EARLY! And my hair and makeup held up all night despite dancing up a storm and definitely not babying it. And my sister looked just stunning. Every time I looked at her I wanted to cry. Her hair was EXACTLY what she wanted, only better than we imagined it would turn out. I can't recommend these ladies enough. There were six of us total, including MOB, each with a different personality, very different types of hair, and different skin types. Each hairstyle managed to reflect each woman's taste while staying true to the bride's vision. Makeup was flawless, and stayed that way all night - I wish I could look this good every day. Having the portable salon was a necessity; our venue was a rustic set of small buildings that couldn't handle a huge power grab, so multiple curling irons and straightening rods would have been out of the question if not for the trailer. And, we didn't want to 'travel twice ', once to a salon, hoping everyone was on time, then back in the car to the venue. Hair, makeup, wedding attire - all at the venue, which helped expedite the 'getting ready' photos. . Highly recommend them. read more

I was referred to Katelyn, the owner of Elwynn & Cass, through my sister and as soon as I heard that Elwynn & Cass is a ONE STOP SHOP for wedding day styling services, I was sold. The amazing thing about E&C is that you only need to deal with ONE person throughout the planning process, which makes it super easy to coordinate schedules, payments, etc. I had a very large bridal party so the fact that I didn't have to reach out to each individual stylist to organize the day of, was fantastic and so so so easy. E&C has a team of rock star hair and makeup artists who specialize in bridal/wedding styles which was a huge plus for me to know that someone in my wedding party wouldn't be walking down the aisle looking like a drag queen. Once I booked, I was given plenty of time to schedule my trial makeup and hair (in my home), and took the opportunity to use the makeup trial for my engagement photos (which came out insanely pretty if I might say so myself) and meet Crystal, who was going to be doing my hair and makeup on my big day. Of course, we became instant pals and I felt super comfortable with her, and my hair and makeup vision, when my wedding day rolled around. Another huge win was the flexibility E&C provided. As you know, there can be many last-minute changes with weddings and they certainly accommodated all of mine. E.C. Stylebar team was exceptional, they were professional, timely. My hair & makeup for my event was perfect!

I had an immediate need for a hair/makeup "trial" and I was accomodated quickly. The mobile station itself is very cute and comfortable. I was offered to "come to me" which is what I should have done. However, I offered to drive to their onsite location at a horse stable. First, the directions were poor, I couldnt find where to park and then there was apparently a "mix up" with the stylist coming to see me who knew nothing of what was expected. She had never been there and wasnt familiar with any of the tools they had OR the makeup. My appt was at 1030am and I didnt leave until 200pm. I was told 1 1/2 hrs. Everything started so late. Unfortunately it took so long for my hair (I do have long hair) that my make up was limited to 15min. Needless to say I wasnt very happy and the owner didnt bother to come check in with me; she was making appts to accomodate other people when my appt wasnt even finished and so my stylist was rushed. I would have liked an offer to have some of the rate taken down to adjust for what I went through. The lesson I learned is to only do a "trial" with a specific stylist vs a salon when you dont know who they will pair you with. I took pictures of what was done and it did not look professional at all. I wanted to have eyelashes put on and there was no time for that. I went to a salons "open house" that didnt cost me a thing and they gave me "free" eyelashes. I paid EC Stylebar $100 and I didnt get any! My face looked so dry and cracked. Needless to say I will not be using them for my upcoming event. I also think they must have known I wasnt happy because I never got a phone call to follow up and see if I even wanted to use them..... read more
