For me, what an absolute and complete waste of time. Placement staff should talk to you first and inform you they don't actually have much work in your skill set or physical ability. The truth hurts less than wasting my time and mentally trying to figure out the protocol and intentions. Instead, the appointment starts off with viewing a computer video explaining how to speak in the right tone of voice and how to move your body appropriately (body language), then the other general info requests like references, etc.
On the phone, I was under the impression that there were possible job opportunities for me. Instead I left feeling awkward and had the impression I would most likely not hear anything from them. The people working there seemed uncomfortable as well. So far, as expected, nothing. I don't feel it is worth my time to contact them. I wonder how some of these temporary staffing companies are making money. Is it a tax write-off when they obtain your information? I have not figured that one out yet....still a mystery. read more
