As some reviewers note, this place has probably seen better days. Maybe that explains my affinity for the Elwood Lounge. I've probably seen better days too. But even though we've both seen better days, it doesn't mean that things are bad. After all, going downhill is the fastest way to get somewhere.
The outside is non-descript and the inside is a farrago of lounge chairs, tables, a pool table, tvs, a pinball machine (cowboy themed), and there is an area in the back with a small library of paperbacks for the less social. Outback there is a nice patio. The drinks are pretty cheap and the food is pretty good. They tend to have deals everyday and you can see them on their website or on the board inside.
One of the only bars in the area, but it would be worth going to even if it wasn't. They now have two beers on tap, which is nice. The bloodymarys are good and they will make them spicy if you ask.
There is a strange translation of Plato's republic in the book section. Read Book II if you don't have anyone to talk to or the place is empty. If you are feeling generous, bring an old paperback you have read when you go and add something to their library. Patrons years from now will be thankful. read more
