Throughout the school year, my son was repeatedly called the N-word by multiple students and was physically assaulted on more than one occasion. As of July 17, 2026, I have not been informed of any disciplinary consequences for the students involved. From my perspective, the administration did not have an effective plan for responding to repeated incidents of racial harassment and bullying. After the first incident, the principal looked me in the eye and assured me that she would investigate. I later received one communication stating that she needed to speak with the teacher and the teacher's union representative. After that, I received no further updates regarding the investigation or its outcome. I also did not receive any communication after the subsequent incidents in which my son was again called the N-word. In my experience, the administration failed to protect my child from ongoing racial harassment and bullying. Instead of feeling that my concerns were being addressed, I felt that my son was increasingly viewed as the problem rather than the victim. To parents of color in Lake Elsinore: I encourage you to research each school carefully before making an enrollment decision. My experience has shown me that responses to racial harassment and bullying can vary from school to school within the district. I hope every family finds a school that takes these incidents seriously and provides a safe, supportive environment for all students.

At MINIMUM, they all need to take continuous refresher training courses in how to handle situations with students as every situation is different. I understand there are some difficult students, but not all of them are the same and some may need more help than others. Isn't it the job of the teacher, counselor, all faculty to help every student? Did they all lose interest? "It takes a village to raise a child" and that village are the parents and the school working together, not just the school faculty doing what they choose. Also, the school shouldn't have as much control over a student just because they are on the school campus. If a child gets into trouble, a parent should ALWAYS be present prior to questioning the child, otherwise the school is removing the rights of the child (a minor) AND the parents. As a parent, we want to believe we are placing our children in good hands, with people who care about the kids. Isn't this the reason they chose this field to begin with??? From what I've heard from my student, the administration constantly complain about their jobs, the teachers treat the students (including special ed students) badly, the food served is horrible, and every time I've been there, I've been treated with disrespect as an adult. I am so glad I removed my child. It's too bad because it definitely is a beautiful school, even if it IS located across from a "trailer park" as the snob commentor said. I submitted an application for my daughter for the year 2023-24 and never got a call from the staff as I was told they would after reviewing my application. I didn't make a big deal because my daughter was only 3. I fill out another application this year 2024-25 and didn't heard anything for months so I decided to go to the district only to hear that I needed to submit some documents "again" so I did. Weeks later I call and was told that everything was good with my application and documentation and just needed to wait for someone to call me. I waited 3 weeks and no call, so I called back and was told that I didn't qualify for the full time program and I needed to submit additional income!!! and that they actually still haven't gotten to my application because they're working on applications received prior to mine!!! WTH.... Why are they so unorganized??? at this point I don't know what to do. I'm so disappointed and not to mention that the only two options of school are on the other side of the lake.
