Absolutely delicious. Would go again. Very quickly prepared, everything was fresh! We got lumpia and chicken pancit. We also tried the coco bread and Spanish bread.

My girlfriend was in town for the holiday weekend ("holiday" as in "President's Day") and we went…read moreto the flea market specifically to get some lumpia from Island Delight. First time at T&W in a very long time. The layout of the place is chaotic, with not much room to move. Point being, we strolled for quite a while and couldn't find the bright yellow food trailer. We were walking back to the car when I spotted it behind the taco shack. I'll upload a screen shot of the coordinates so you can go right to the place, instead of wandering aimlessly. The gentleman manning the order window was incredibly welcoming and helpful. If it's your first visit, he will give you samples of everything. The adobo was meaty and seasoned well...not too salty, either. The pancit was also delicious. We had been food hopping all day, trying new places and just getting appetizers and small plates, so we only wanted lumpia. Frankly, I can get better lumpia at the gas station deli close to my house up in Milton. Island Delight has chicken, pork, and beef lumpia. We got 4 of each. Not much meat. Not much flavor. Not much anything at all. But they were fried nicely and had great crispness. Lumpia are $1 each...buy 5, get one free. If I go again, I would maybe get two and get a bowl of adobo. A young man got that and sat down with us at the picnic table and, for $3, that's a ton of meat for the price. The lumpia are nothing to travel out of your way for.

There are well guarded secrets in any town, perhaps more so in a small town. Today, I don my…read morewhistle blower hat to introduce those of you who remain uninitiated to the wonders that can be found at Islanders Delights. We first discovered this trailer on a whim to cruise the T&W Outdoor Flea Market for gently used treasures. The kitchen is a short, bright yellow trailer run by the charming and talented Helen and Joe. A six stool bar is set up to enjoy the meal and visit. The owners remind me more of kind innkeepers and restaurateurs than concession stand vendors. I must not be alone because it seems all the regulars know them, some of whom come in everyday they are open. Which is an important point, they are only there on the weekends. The standard menu seems to have about ten items which includes the Filipino delicacies: Lumpia, Pancit, and Adobo. All three of which I have feasted on and I get nearly every time I go to the market. They also serve and cook Chili and Curries. My personal favorite is the Adobo-slow cooked pork salty, tart, and succulent--heaped on sticky white rice. Be sure to ask for a shot of the Sirracha hot sauce for extra punch. A bowl of this Adobo runs $5.50 today; it is large enough to spit into two servings, but I have no problem convincing myself to eat the whole serving (some sacrifices are obvious). This is best ethnic food I have tasted in all of the Pensacola. If you are having a hard time deciding between Pancit and Adobo, they will make a House combo which has the rice and Pancit and Adobo. Pancit isn't high on my list from former experiences, but Joe comped me a taste of this triple concoction and I will tell you it is wonderful. Right next door they run a drink concession that has sodas, lemonade, and shaved ice. For an extra decadent treat I recommend the Lumpia with sweet and sour sauce. Crispy with rich filling, the Islander Delight Lumpia set a standard. Egg rolls dream to grow up to be as good. Despite the reality that I am addicted to the Adobo, I really don't believe there is any bad choice on the menu. The skinny: Islanders Delights is one of those rare unassuming and reliable places to go to get big portions of sturdy, Filipino home cooking by Mom and Pop for under $10. Go there next weekend!
