A BIG thanks to Lucas HVAC service techs for finding why one of our inside AC breaker switches was failing during the recent freeze. When I called this week, they came the same day to perform a complete AC inspection. Apparently running the AC and heat strips during the recent freeze had caused one of the main power cables running into the breaker box to overheat to a point that it had already melted the rubber cover on this large wire, which could have eventually caused a fire. The heat inside the breaker box was the reason for one of the breakers failing. Lucas HVAC recommended a local electrician, Herman Tafoya, from "Let There Be Light Co." , who came out quickly. Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative and the electrician came this morning to disconnect the outside meter and turned off the power so the affected main cable and the affected breaker switch could be quickly replaced by the electrician.
