We buy beautiful vegetables, have fish and chips at the little stand and then leisurely walk through the park with ice-cream. We changed it up this weekend. We played Farmer's Golf- and we're so glad we did. We always wondered what it was. We saw the sign for Farmer's Golf a million times before stopping to find out what it was. A quick google search brought up a very interesting type of golf. We had to try. We paid ten dollars each at the market and then walked up to the golf course AKA Farmer's field and orchard. We met up with the owner at the clubhouse and she gave us a score card, a mini soccer ball and a club which consisted of a shaft with a wooden clog at the end. Amazing. She taught us how to hit the ball and we went on our way. This game is hilarious. There are ten holes through orchards, fields and more. The hole is a sunken flowerpot in the ground. There is technique to this game- which we finally discovered a few holes in. We giggled the entire time- it was just awesome. So Hennigar's appears to have done it again. An amazing market, great take out shack, adorable park with animals and now golf. What's next? I can't wait!

They are a year-round market, located outdoors in the parking lot of Salisbury Greenhouse from the third week of April to mid-October, and inside Salisbury Greenhouse for the remainder of the year. The lush scenery of the Greenhouse surrounds the market during its indoor season, providing customers with the feel of a tropical vacation in the middle of the week. And it's well worth marking it in your calendar for a wonderful day trip. The restaurant has a fabulous menu - you must try the blueberry poppyseed dressing - on a salad, or chicken - like the smoked chicken quesedilla. They even have a children's menu. But our little ones were too little (not to mention messy) to eat in their beautiful dining room. Not a problem though. There are picnic tables just outside right next to a Koy pond and some of the gazillion blueberry bushes where you can take out a sandwich or bring your own picnic. And speaking about blueberries. This pick-your-own farm is so big, they actually have a big, air conditioned bus to take you around to the best spots to pick and then collects you after you fill up your buckets.

Unless it is really cold or windy I suggest you sit outside. Most people were sitting inside so we had the porch to ourselves and it was definitely the best seat in the house. Overall it is great but I would say that the mains are all almost exactly $10 overpriced. It was about $80 between two of us for appetizers, a main and splitting a desert. I prefer the Dieppe market to the Moncton one because there's more space to move around. Of course it is still crowded but I don't feel quite as claustrophobic here. Vegans look for: Nirvana Nutrition: She makes beautiful, delicious and healthy cheesecakes, macaroons, cookies and more. Cindy is a total sweetheart too. Red Earth Kitchen: also at the Moncton market. Amazing vegan desserts, soups, veggie meatballs and burgers in the to go fridge. Absolutely decadent sweets, some of the best I've ever had. There's a vendor that does sorbet which is vegan. And several vendors that do Indian food and falafels and stuff that I haven't inquired about but assume there may be some vegan options there. Nico's bakery most of their regular breads are vegan and they make vegan cookies but I didn't see them when I was there but they could have sold out. Of course fresh produce vendors are there as well. Adorable chocolate offer vegan chocolate, most of their dark chocolate is safe. And there's a place with fresh juices and smoothies. Lots to choose from for sure.

I really like the Moncton Market. Located downtown, it has both outdoor and indoor vendors and…read moreseveral entrances. When we arrived it was extremely crowded, so for someone with social anxiety it was a bit stressful but I'm sure there are times that are not quite as busy which would make it easier. I noticed a lot of unique vendors and questioned a few about vegan options. Besides local produce and craftwares there wasn't a lot of vegan options but I did find a vendor "Red Earth Kitchen" that does gorgeous looking vegan desserts. As well, the area that we first came in seems to have some permanent food vendors. One had veggie springrolls and others had falafel and other middle eastern food that would be vegan. Another vendor from Sackville had some chocolates that were vegan safe and a gentleman selling cupcakes said he normally has vegan cupcakes first thing in the day but they sell out quickly. All and all I think it's an awesome farmer's market and I'd definitely like to visit again.
