This review is more about the actual branch than Wintrust as an entity…read more I have been here for years, and the service has really gone down hill lately. The atm is perpetually out of service. Fully understand that working as a teller might not be the most intellectually stimulating career, but the folks working the drive through at McDonald's seem to hate their jobs more. They are very slow and surly. If it was not such a nuisance to switch banks, I'd consider it.

I finally went, and thankfully, this location was close to work, which made it easier to stop by during my break. The wait was short, and the whole process was pretty quick and smooth. That part was a plus. Now the service. I don't expect friendly greetings or big smiles, but the person testing my car seemed completely over it and made me feel like I was a nuisance (like, trust me, I didn't want to be there either). He was mumbling the entire time, and I genuinely couldn't hear what he was saying. He wanted me to put my key on the dashboard, get back in the car, and roll down the window, but I had to ask multiple times just to understand his instructions. I get it. It was cold, and I'd be miserable working outside in that weather, too. Still, clearer communication would've made the experience much better. In the end, I'm just thankful it didn't take long and that I didn't have to be there for very long.

It was pretty normal inside with relatively clean desks and teller stations. But after quite clearly walking around the small space and mentally cataloguing what I saw, no one greeted me or said hello, or asked me if I needed help. The real kicker though, was a small shelf containing pamphlets - the kind you find at any bank or similar institution - and the Winter newsletter on the shelf was from 'Winter 2018'. I walked in (and walked out) during February 2020. What a joke!
