They do a lot for the kids and always keeping them and the families in mind. They instill the principles of Covey's "7 Habits" and the "Leader in Me" program into these young minds. I think that's great! They even have "learning labs" where parents come in and teach for a couple hours their own trade/profession so the children can learn new and exciting things that are not in the everyday curriculum. Another interesting thing they do, or i should say DON'T do is, they don't have third-party fundraising. They just have donations or their own school fundraising. They are no selling of candy, cookies, wrapping paper, etc. They make the money by PTA donations, or selling school products like t-shirts, hoodies, marathons, sponsorships by local vendors, and other PTA events. I thought that was kinda neat!

Very grateful with her teacher and the tremendous job she is doing . My 5 th grader is also improving in all his classes, thanks to his teacher who is helping him in his weak areas. Reading is especially emphasized at St. Louis and both my girls have received superior ratings on their STAAR testing at public school. St. Louis gives our students a strong spiritual base with emphasis on serving others in need. One of my favorite aspects is that students learn to speak in front of an assembly with confidence. My oldest daughter was especially shy and graduated 5th grade with a confidence and outgoing personality. My mom, aunts, uncles, and my oldest sister graduated from St. Louis [I attended 1st Grade there before it closed in 1968, reopening in 1986] so this red brick school will always be an important part of our family tradition. When finances were tight one year I researched the San Antonio area private schools and St. Louis was the best bargain. A great foundation!

My husband and I are grateful our daughters have had the opportunity to attend my alma mater. Both of our daughters started in the PreK3 program which built a great foundation for them to thrive academically while continuing on through the upper grade levels at SLCS. All students are provided with numerous public speaking opportunities which helps build confidence that will last a lifetime. There is no doubt that we are making the best decision to send our daughters to SLCS.

Another thing is no response when it comes to issues going on within the school. I've accepted this and although my child has been here 2 years they will no longer be attending IDEA. My child has gotten worse academically since starting here. Also, it's pretty much impossible to get your child on any sport team unless your child has been going to the school for years and years. My child was like a pariah here and wasn't wanted in any sports or afterschool activities. They would tell my child that I'd have to go and apply for the clubs then when I would go they would tell me the child would have to go which made me believe that they just did not want them in there. Think long and hard before bringing your child to this school. Also, if your child isn't perfect As and no issues don't even bother with this school. Went here and graduated. Only problem I had was the grading system. I might've had a hard time time…read moregetting my things on time and everything. With all my timing there I was very impressed and more than anything thankful. If you have any kids that need to go to school make sure they come here. Northside is a very good district however it is a bit tough to get the best services with them but at least give them a chance to tell you what they can help you with and everything. With me being autistic I was given the advantage to do sports and try different things that most people aren't able to do or try. Whenever I graduated from here at this district I can't be more thankful and more proud of what I've accomplished since Day 1 from coming here. Now that I see my little brother graduating here in 2025, makes me more happy because I know he'll do great in life and everything. I'm just curious to see how it ends for him and all those that apart of Northside. Northside was definitely the best I've been apart of. I can't be more happier and thankful than I already am. There is a District gym with ALL the latest amenities in the East end of the school. However, the school has its own Main & Auxiliary gym in the middle. It appears to be a multi level building and it is at least 3/4's of a City Block long. Ample parking and a full practice football field.
