Don't believe this dealership's BS about being in the community for blah blah years and that should act as bona fides as to their eminence w/in the Elmire community. In my opinion, they're at least as bad as any used car salesman around rural NY. Bought a 2016 Ford Fusion for my niece w/ 136k on it. Was assured by salesman "Zach" it would be inspected, etc. The usual pressure, like someone's waiting for it if you don't buy, in the lobby as we speak. Then dear old Zach tries to get me to buy an extended warranty. Found out his recommended extended warranty company is rated one of the worst in the industry. Praise God I went w/ Endurance extended warranty compay. Within weeks of driving the Fusion off the lot, my niece believed there were major transmission issues, amongst other things. like brakes. In-house service assured she was wrong. Advance a few more months, new engine needed. A NEW ENGINE! Zach says, oh well, once you drive it off the lot.... Yes, loyalty to the community faded quickly after I paid in cash. My niece was w/o a car for months!! I had to pay for a rental until the ENGINE could be replaced. Thank God for Endurance Extended Warranty who could not have been more helpful. I'm out thousands upon THOUSANDS of dollars. Better Business Bureau complaint pending. read more

Brought my Spark in for service. It needed a lot of services because I had put minor things off, knowing I needed a part replaced and it would be easier to have everything done at once. The part I pre-paid for had not been ordered. I wasn't notified of this until after 3pm, even though my appointment was booked weeks in advance and I dropped my car off at 8am. They failed to do other requested services. They didn't even ask me if still wanted them done, and just assumed I didn't. They should have called me earlier in the day and asked. They charged me $140+ to switch my seasonal tires and replace my wiper blades! I could have picked up wiper blades at Auto Zone and the place I bought my tires would have swapped them FREE - I had just added it to the list of work for my own convenience. Paying dealer center prices just for wiper blades and putting on tires I already own is ridiculous They did offer to get me in another day, but I had already put off the oil change too long. Upon leaving the service center I had to drive to a quick change oil place, for the oil changed they failed to do. And now I have to wait another 6,000+ miles to actually get the part replaced and the engine flushed because you do it when you do the oil change. read more

I took my car to Elm Chevy because I did not have any heat. The car sat in the back parking lot for 2 weeks before I heard anything back from them. I called that following Monday to see what was going on and Anna tells me that they broke my heater box installing a part, she said she would Hypoxy glue my heater box until the other came in. Got a call the new heater box was in to bring the car back, which I did. When I was told the car was ready Nick had also told me they broke the cover on my windshield wiper. Another thing broken by Elm Chevy, When I went to pick the car back up I opened the door and my car was trashed and stuff was stolen which means the tech left my vehicle unlocked and someone got inside, I had an empty tank, which also means someone drove my vehicle, when I contacted Chris Silvers the manager he thought it was funny and said he would watch the cameras and get back to me that a homeless person must have gotten into my vehicle, he was very unprofessional and never returned my calls, until my coworker called him pretending to be my daughter, He tells her I trashed my own car and stole my own stuff that i did that to my car and he was doing nothing for me. He needs to be fired to laugh at something like that and should be his responsible to take care of my vehicle. Hes disgusting to even have charged my warranty 2700 for something his techs did I now have gouge marks in my dashboard and my car is a mess DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR OFF THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE CROOKS AND WILL ROB YOU BLIND. Had a minor collision and got an estimate from their team. Jonathan was spot on in recommending door replacement and fought with the insurance rep to assure the safety of my vehicle. ELMs estimate was $600 less than the progressive repair shop and dealing with their team was exceptional. From Roy in the body shop to the girls in the other areas, it was a pleasure to deal with them from start to finish. One tip is to have your finished car stored up top in the secure area of the building due to an unfenced parking lot aside of the building. My car sustained minor damage before I could pick it up , but they repaired it no problem! Waiting area was sunny and welcoming with the local paper, tv and Keurig coffee maker and breakfast bars, a nice touch for busy people. Looking forward to going back for more service. read more

Stopped in with my non-Chevrolet electric plug-in vehicle, looking to charge my battery. Despite not being a vehicle that they promote and sell, they happily took the keys and drove it to their charger while I walked to a work meeting nearby. Upon return, they drove the car back around charged and ready to go. Full valet service, even for a not-yet-customer or even their brand vehicle. Way to go Elm! Strongly considering the Volt for my next purchase, and I know where I'll go to get it! read more

Disappointed. Let-Down. Betrayed. Deceived. These words all describe my treatment and service. After being woe'd by a salesman, I purchased a vehicle. What sealed the deal for me was a great tour through the service department and a free bucket of car-care goods. It was emphasized to me that all cars get a car-wash after they are worked on or serviced, so everyone leaves with a nice, clean car! That seemed like great customer service! 6 days after making my vehicle purchase, a component on the car stopped working. I called the service dept at Elm Chevrolet, and they told me to work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue. For 2 weeks I was back-on-forth with the manufacturer and service provider trying to resolve the issue, and after doing everything they asked, the manufacturer determined I needed to bring the car into the dealership for service. I had to wait over a week to get an appointment, then was asked to pay several hundred dollars for the repair. When I asked why it wasn't covered by the dealership, I was offered a discount of $70. The work needed to be done, so I had it done, but when I went to the cashier to pay, the cost was $25 more than the price I was quoted with the discount applied. That wasn't ever corrected because the person I spoke with earlier in the day had gone home and there were no notes left. When I received my keys I had to search through the dark parking lot for my vehicle and found it dirty and covered in road salt - they didn't wash it! When I got in, the smell of oil and gasoline was strong. It's been 3 days and I still can't get the odor out. I am significantly disappointed, feel deceived by them, and will reconsider recommending them to the folks I come into contact with. read more

I took my truck back to the dealership where I bought it because the air conditioning did not work. They put Freon in it and sent me home. I leaked back out and I had no AC during a heat wave. I took it to Elm, they had it fixed properly the next morning. They were polite, professional and easy to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Bought a used Chevy from this place 2 months ago. The day we bought we noticed the DVD/Navagation system was not working correctly. Called them right away and they said they would cover the cost to get it fixed completely. 2 months later, multiple unreturned phone calls we take it to be fixed. Not only was it not fixed, it is even more broken then before. Plus they are refusing to pay to fix the problem that we were told MULIPLE times by more then one person there they would cover completely. Add to that the warrantee they sold us can not be used in our area (we live over an hour away) even tho they insisted it could be. Not happy at all and will let everyone know that!! I recently took my Chevy Tahoe in for service. I was very pleased and very impressed with my entire experience from start to finish. When I called to make the appointment, I was told where to go and what to do upon arrival. As a detail-oriented person that information was much appreciated and helpful to me. When I arrived I went to check in and a very nice man personally escorted me to the "Yellow Team" area. Nicole and the service person (John) quickly got me all checked in, and inquired about the problems I was having with my vehicle. They were both awesome! When I returned later to pick my vehicle up the cashier who took care of me was friendly, efficient and got me on my way without delay. Elm Chevrolet service department runs a tight ship and I was very satisfied with the friendly staff, and the efficiency of every person I came into contact with. That place runs like a "well-oiled machine." Good, personal customer service should be a basic component of every business, but unfortunately is hard to find these days. Never. Again. Careless work (or breaking something to get me to come back). Too haughty to admit they could have made a mistake. I will absolutely NEVER go to ELM again, nor any GM repair shop. Nor will I ever purchase any GM vehicle again. Corporate GM is an absolute joke, too. I went to them for help and (after talking to ELM) just parroted what ELM told them and said "there's nothing we can do." I got a repair done there a few years ago (the most recent of MANY). It turns out, my turning signal quit working as a result of a wire corroding since an accident I had 2 years prior. They fixed that (come to find out later, a poor quality job), but on my way home from that repair, my wipers went crazy when I tried to use them! They went the wrong speed and wouldn't stop, then stopped in the MIDDLE of the windshield! I IMMEDIATELY returned the car to them. They claimed it had nothing to do with their repair; it was the wiper motor that "by some fluke" just happened to fail at the same time. Yeah. Right. I refused to have them "fix" that, since I knew they were lying, or at the very least, didn't care to find the truth. My spouse used to work for a dealership, so has experience working on cars - thankfully! We replaced the wiper motor as per ELM's claim. It changed NOTHING. Wipers still worked exactly as they had since ELM touched it. I have had to deal with these stupid wipers for over 2 years now. I have invested over $200 (that I really couldn't afford) on replacement parts and tools that didn't fix the problem. My spouse and I finally purchased a Haynes repair manual to get the wiring diagrams and try to see if we could fix the wires ourselves. Turns out, we didn't even need that! Once we got into the area ELM was working in (the Body Control Module) and unwrapped way too much electrical tape, we discovered a clipped wire! Not broken all the way through, just a little bit. We repaired it (and a better job than ELM did on the wire to the turning signal!) and my wipers work perfectly! Whoever did the job on the turning signal was either careless, or malicious. When I brought my car back to ELM that day, they should have checked their work (since the wires are all so close together and this mistake honestly would be very easy to make) and fixed it. It would have cost them maybe $1.00 in parts and maybe 1/2 hour total work time if they'd admitted they could have made a mistake. Whether from carelessness or harmful intent, they have lost a formerly loyal customer. I went to them for ALL my previous warranty and insurance repairs. Never. Again. read more

I purchased a certified used 2006 Chevy Trailblazer July 14, Yesterday, with less then 125 miles that I put on, I took it back because the ABS brakes were kicking. After sitting a few hours I was told by Nicolle Schiller that it required a new sensor, because of a broken wire, about and hour later she came out and to me that it now needed a Hub & Connector need because it was an aftermarket hub that was put on, I then told her that I was told by the Salesman, Mike Kerbs, that the car was a lease and the a lady purchased it and kept it up at ELM, so ELM put the after market Hub and not a GM HUB on it? Going to COST ME, $108, if the sales dept. didn't pick up the cost of the Hub, $315.00 more, I even purchased the Service Contract 3 years - 36,000 miles, for $2,815.00, What For? Nicolle then offer me a car to go to lunch or home, I was so upset, I didn't even put gas in the vehicle yet. Yet my time 3 hours sitting at Elm, 2 hours at home, didn't mean a time to all those people. My Time wastes was about $125.00, for sometime that being GM Certified should of need happen, I last time I purchased vehicle from them was in 1985, I bought 1984 Corvette, 35,487 miles on it, the car sat on their roof for months, It had to be repaint, I took that Corvette back so many times because it wasn't correct, with now only 51,700 miles, always covered and garaged, in Car Shows, the paint, that ELM CHEVY could get correct, gets me no awards, I should of learned 32 years ago, what type of People this Dealer ship was , When I when to get my Car, a lot of employees were just standing , using cell phones, What a joke, then my car was to be in the lane, it wasn't there, they had to go find it read more

You fixed the problem with our vehicle. However, you were unable to provide us with a loaner vehicle. I understand that there is a supply and demand issue, but we purchased our vehicle less than 30 days ago and we already had something that needed fixed. You should have been bending over backwards and going far beyond normal customer service to fix our issue. As annoying as customers are we are always, ALWAYS, right. Even when we are wrong. Second, the receptionist that I dealt with in the service department (she worked until 6) was the rudest woman I have dealt with in recent memory. I called to see about picking up our vehicle and I was told. 'we are open until six if you aren't here by then I am leaving.' When I got there, slightly after 6, (you see my husband and I both work full time jobs and I called when I was leaving work and when I was close because I realized that I wouldn't make it by six.) she was short and rude. She made no bones about the fact that I was inconveniencing her. Nevermind the fact the car that I just newly purchased from you needed a repair. The purchase experience went well. Horrible service from not only the person from Red team but also the service manager MIKE .I own 6 GM vehicles and will never come back here again. They have to be the rudest dealership around and definitely need some refreshing on customer service and have lost a customer. My wife dropped off her van and they call 20 min later and say what it was a abs harness then I said ok how much is it and they said they charge and hour even though it was 20 minutes of work so cost me $99 plus tax to tell me it was a harness and they were very rude when I questioned the charge for 20 minutes of work. So as I was upset about the way I was spoken to I call back to speak to the manager and they transferred me to MIKe and boy was that a mistake he was about as rude and proceeded to tell me it was 20 min to diagnose it and an hour and 10 min to put back together after he told me it was 20 min to take apart. So I questioned him on why if it took 20 min to take apart why did it take him 1 hour and 10 min to put back together I asked him if he went on break and then came back and finished it. I guess he didn't like the comment but I was being serious and frustrated that I got charged 1 hour for maybe 30/40 minutes of work. So needless to say Mike did zero help and made it even worse so I WILL NEVER BRING ANYTHING BACK TO ELM CHEVROLET EVER AGAIN I PROMISE YOU THAT AND I WILL BE POSTING THIS TO FACEBOOK AND A FEW DIFFERENT SOCIAL MEDIA SITES TO WARN PEOPLE!!!!!!! read more
