Elynne Bridal was kind of a special experience. While I like some freedom in browsing and a not-too patronizing treatment, I was basically left alone browsing through the store, which is crowded with people and dresses. It doesn't really help that dresses are sorted by designer instead of style (what do I know about designers?). What is REALLY NOTEWORTHY is that you get a "suite" which is a large and quite nice fitting room, so brace yourself, you are changing in front of everyone who you brought. So, either don't bring your MIL or get ready to strip in front of her. I think, this should at least be mentioned when making an appointment, as I didn't feel comfortable (not sure about my company...) but also didn't want to throw a bridal-diva fit! Plus, after 2 hours of trying on and ready to write a $$$$ check, I would have appreciated a sip of water, or even a glass of champagne. read more

Kasique was an amazing stylist and made the experience for my daughter so special! Her warm personality, knowledge and amazing assistance made the whole process effortless. The bridal rooms offered privacy and a comfortable setting for her as well. Highly recommend Elynne Bridal to anyone looking for personalized care. ‍ read more

Horrible customer service Manager does not call back customers. They do not alter dresses for fit or stand behind their designers

I went in today for my first time wedding dress shopping. I discovered of Ellynne Bridal just from passing by so many times. The woman who helped me (Coleen) was fantastic! She pulled dresses that I just can't stop thinking about, was so genuine and has a very kind/caring personality. I was super nervous to be trying on for the first time yet she made it a 5 star visit/experience, hence the 5 star review! Overall; AMAZING service, selection, space, atmosphere, etc. Highly recommend. read more

I dropped in here to check out wedding dresses and received an incredibly warm welcome. The store itself is very elegant with huge windows allowing for plenty of natural lighting in the front room. Beautiful mirrors hanging on the walls to allow you to catch a glimpse of the dress as you move. The private rooms with the pedestals are spacious and appropriately lit and they had many gorgeous dresses of excellent quality. An associate named Allison greeted me and immediately gave me her undivided attention. We picked out dresses and she patiently pinned me in them, frequently I had to revisit a previous dress and she was a great sport. The owner was also there and incredibly positive and kind. My mother in law came to visit the following week and wanted to see the dresses I was considering. Allison again met us and pinned me in tons of dresses over and over again. I loved how intimate the feel of the boutique is and the personalized attention I received. I'm still trying to decide on the right dress, but thus far my buying experience has been amazing here! They even followed up with me with a personalized card! If you're dress shopping in Lincoln and Omaha don't miss this place!! read more

I came from Omaha to Ellynne to find my wedding dress. I made an appointment and felt like the associate listened to what I wanted and didn't want, and gave me a ton of variety so that I could really make an informed decision. I didn't feel pressured to buy, but I did! Everyone is very kind and I have enjoyed every interaction with the staff. read more

We arrived to the store to browse for grandmothers' dresses for my daughter's wedding....we did not get one single smile or one single hello- the entire time we were there- in fact, the gal working walked right past staring straight ahead with her nose in the air- not ONE single acknowledgment- we would have been ecstatic with a smile and/or hello. The manager came out, we apologized for not having an appointment, stating we were glad to be able to get our 80 year-old mothers into the store, never knowing how their health was going to be or how the weather would be the next outing- the manager apologized and said she would turn the experience around- still NOTHING! This was all after already dropping over $2500 in their store previously.....The experience went from bad to worse...We went to the next bridal store- WITHOUT an appointment- they were very friendly, they said hello with no prompting, they smiled, and they helped with dress suggestions....message me if you want to know about this awesome bridal store! Don't waste your time or $$$$ at Ellyne's read more

Okay, so I didn't really have to shop here because I had found my wedding dress in Denver, but this was the only store in NE where they had it. So shopping wise, it was a piece of cake and I loved the dressing rooms -they were huge! Another bonus, the sales associate Katherine (I think) pinned the dress up so we could see where it would fall when it was alltered---no other salon and I've been to 15! did that for me, props to her!!!! I will let everyone know how it goes when the dress comes in. They told me 5 or 6 months, so I've marked my calendar! However, just as an FYI my best friend went there a few days before me to buy a flower girls dress and had called to make sure they had the style (the store is about 50 minutes from our homes) they had said yes we've got all 3 and they're x dollars. When my friend showed up they didn't have any of the styles she had called about :(. We called twice to make sure they had the specific dress we were driving in for, so just keep that in mind when shopping with Ellynne Bridal! read more

The staff were incredibly rude on the phone. They lost our appointment and wasted our time. Wouldn't recommend this bridal store.

Mostly pros, one con: I was a bridesmaid in an Ellynne Bridal wedding last weekend. While I can't speak for the bride's experience, I was satisfied. The seamstress was able to do my alterations on late-notice (the week before the wedding), and I was very happy with them. A strapless dress that I wasn't yanking up all night while I danced - hallelujah! (Ask for Felicia!) At least 2 other bridesmaids had late alterations, including one which an out-of-town bridesmaid dropped off on THE AFTERNOON BEFORE THE WEDDING. While I do not recommend waiting until the last possible minute, it speaks volumes that they were able to accommodate everyone...without making anyone feel panicked. On the day of the wedding, the owner even came to the church to steam our dresses, and sent over a seamstress to repair a torn hem which caught on a heel. I was pretty skeptical when I first walked into the shop - it seems like the reception area is a ghost town. 2 out of 3 times I was in there, there was no one around & I had to sit & wait for several minutes until someone noticed that I'd come in. Maybe they're short staffed? Even so, they need a bell - or even a sign that says "please wait here to be helped". read more

My recent experience at Ellynne Bridal was absolutely phenomenal. We were greeted by Lynne herself at the front door, which I took as a good sign for the rest of the appointment. If the owner is wiling to come meet you before you even buy anything it must be a good sign, right?! The consultant that helped me, Lisa ( I believe), was so sweet and patient with me. She let me try on so many different styles since it was my first time trying on wedding gowns. She was helpful and cheerful through every dress and even knew when I hated something before I even said it. I ended up finding my perfect dress and even cried as any bride does. It was even way under budget, which was a huge plus! Overall the service was incredible and I'm so glad that Ellynne Bridal was my first and last stop on my search for my dream dress. Oh! And they also give you a bottle of champagne if you say yes to the dress!! *Keep in mind that bridal gowns take anywhere from 6-9 months to get as they are all custom made, so shop early! read more

We popped in here one Sunday to look at wedding dresses. This was a spontaneous trip, so understandable they did not have rooms available for me to try on any dresses. However, I appreciated that my bridesmaids and I were still able to freely roam the racks (since this was not the case with my experience at David's) and the lady was nice, not heckling us at all but also helpful. I knew going in this place was likely out of my budget, but they do have really unique and nice dresses if you can afford them. read more

The first time was wonderful. I found my dress, and I was able to bring as many people with me to get opinions (and share the experience with). The owner herself helped me and was so wonderful. Great conversationalist and didn't try to upsell me something I was clearly not interested in (that's a HUGE plus for me). The second time was okay, but not as great. We knew which dress we were going to get (the one I picked out during our first visit), and of course tried on a few others just to see the styles. The attendant was a little absent and not as friendly, but that could have been because she was helping another bride. They worked with us on price, and offered to sell the dress of the rack, which helped with the price even more. They have an impressive variety of dresses but it's a higher budget store for sure. They also give you champagne when you buy a dress, so we'll be having mimosas on the morning of the wedding :) read more

Do not come here if you want a bridal shop that actually cares about their customers. I ordered my dress and veil from this place 6+ months in advance of my wedding. I went in to try my dress on about 2 months before the wedding and my custom veil still hadn't arrived (they seemed surprised when I even asked about the veil so it's possible they just forgot to order it). They assured me at my fitting that it would be here in time for the wedding though. I called back two weeks before the wedding to see if it was in yet and they again seemed surprised-- after "talking with the designer" they said my veil would not be here in time for my wedding and that I could pick another USED veil they had in store for half price. My veil was a special color to match my dress, and they did not have the right veil or the right color at their store for me to choose from. I would think that after all of this grief they would offer a free veil (even if the veil was NOT even close to what I wanted) but they insisted that the best they could do was half off. They did not once apologize, they never tried to make it right, they never even called to let me know my veil would not be here in time until I called them and every time I talked to someone they didn't even act concerned or like they cared about me. If I hadn't called I might have never heard about my veil at all. Worst customer service of my life. Once the money is in their pocket it's over! If you want a good bridal experience stay away! read more

The front desk is a ghost town. They need to have someone manage it full-time. The one time I was in the store there was a line of people at the desk and no one to be found for 5 minutes. I have also heard a similar story from another person I know who bought a bridesmaid dress from them. And my biggest complaint: I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that ordered all its dresses from Ellynne Bridal. I ordered my dress over the phone as I don't live in Lincoln. I paid to have the dress shipped to my parents' house. The store never informed me that the dress arrived at the store and was sitting in the back, forgotten. I called to check on things and remind them that I had paid for them to ship the dress to my parents' house and was assured it would arrive 3 days later. It never did. I called a third time to check on the dress, this time while I was in town. I was asked if I only paid to have the dress shipped to the store, or if I had paid the additional $12 to have it sent to my parents' house. I reminded them that: 1. I paid over the phone, so I don't have a receipt. This is information they should have on file anyway. 2. I thought I had paid in full, and if I have not, they should have let me know much earlier. So the girl on the phone checked my record and saw that I had paid in full and asked who I had talked to earlier. It seems to me that all of the staff should be competent and it shouldn't matter who I talk to each time. I let her know that I would be in the store later that day to pick up my $12 refund and the dress. When I arrived, the task took over 15 minutes (see my first paragraph). The point of buying through a local store is that stuff like this should not happen. read more

Oy, it hurts to think that I gave money to this place. As a bridesmaid, I didn't have a choice in where I would purchase my dress from...so here I am writing a review. I placed the order for the dress as soon as the bride told me to (June) for the upcoming October wedding. I called in with my measurements and made sure to pay for shipping. I was told it would take about six weeks for the dress to arrive and that it would ship to me as soon as it did. No problem. After seven weeks I called to inquire the status. The girl who answered the phone told me that the dress would be in during Labor Day weekend. She said to allow a couple days for shipping due to the holiday, but that it would ship ASAP. Two weeks later with no sign of the dress I called again to check. This is where things took a turn for the worse. The person who answered my call couldn't seem to keep straight that I was a member of the bridal party and NOT the bride. She told me that they had tried to contact me several times and my number wasn't working. When she told me the number they were using, it was the bride's. I explained to her that the bride was out if the country (which I'm sure she told them). It was at that point I started to wonder just how competent this place is as far as keeping notes on customers. The girl then gave me some story about how all the dresses needed to be shipped at the sane time. She got very short with me when I asked for a specific date/company they would ship with. I almost laughed when she said, "I don't know, we use several." She finally said that they would ship Tuesday. I asked if I called Tuesday afternoon, Nebraska time, then I could get a tracking number? "Yes" was the terse response. I brushed off the way I had just been treated in the hopes that I would hear news of follow-through Tuesday. Wrong!!! I got the same individual on the phone who proceeded to tell me that no the dress had not shipped, at this point her voice had taken a tone of contempt. I explained that this was disappointing, given the promises made on Tuesday. Her excuse was they were "busy", with what? Who knows. They were open Monday and Tuesday at that point and couldn't manage to throw a dress in a box and slap a shipping label on there. Cut to--calling back and having to demand to speak to the owner to get this all squared away. Hallelujah, the dress arrived five days later which brings me to my next point. WHY ask for measurements if you're going to order giant grocery bags do dresses for the entire wedding party. Can't wait to shell out hundreds of dollars for a seamstress to basically reconstruct my dress because the wrong size was definitely ordered. Long story short, obviously I will never have to do business with then again since I don't live anywhere near Lincoln, Nebraska. I wouldn't have bothered to write my longest Yelp review ever if they had just had an inkling of customer service and just hadn't been so darn rude on the phone. I wrote this to hopefully save others the grief of dealing with the nincompoops that run this place. If you're doing a long distance wedding, go buy your dress elsewhere. You'll pay the same price and walk away without a headache. Peace! read more

I have been here over the years as both a bridesmaid and a bride. When you walk in, the front room is tastefully decorated with mannequins and a seating area. You must take off your shoes before you are allowed to go back to the dress area. I understand this but also think it may be best to bring slippers as I also located pins on the floor and wouldn't want to step on them barefoot! When coming as a bridesmaid it seemed okay. The store was often busy and the lack of sizes that even remotely fit makes it difficult to see how a dress may look on you. They have dressing rooms that are smaller for bridesmaids or prom dresses, which is fine. It was clear that some of the sales associates were more knowledgeable and others weren't particularly friendly. When coming as a bride this place was an absolute disaster. The only pro is that they carry a lot of designer dresses that can't be found elsewhere in town. I had an appointment and had my mother and maid of honor with me. The staff said they were running behind and offered me a smaller room to put some dresses in that I wanted to try. No big deal. However, the small dressing room only fits a few dresses so I was then instructed to hang them on a rack outside the room. Fast forward 15 minutes and the other people were done in the big room, but instead of putting me in the room as planned, they put someone else in that came in after me. Then, they started putting back the dresses I picked out to try on. When I asked about this, a different sales associate rudely told me the dressing rooms were first come first serve. It could have been a lack of communication between my sales associate and the other one, but ours did nothing to correct it. Needless to say, we were frustrated and felt very disrespected. I attempted to try on a few dresses but the small dressing rooms were too small for wedding dresses. We never did get into a big room. My older mother was tired and needed a place to sit down and again, one of the sales associates was very rude. We ended up leaving and I came back on another occasion. The service on that occasion was better, but still not nearly as good as that received elsewhere. For such an important purchase, confidence in the store is a must and I had very little that they'd deliver as expected. I found it difficult to communicate via phone with the staff. Phone calls were not returned and the staff didn't reliably answer their phone. Overall, This store could honestly be great as the owner herself seemed nice and the dress selection is good, but the staff clearly need better organization and customer service. I was treated very poorly and certainly did not feel like a valued customer. read more

As previously said, the dresses are beautiful, and the store is very nice. I was very happy to find my wedding dress at Elynne Bridal. I ordered it in October, and the dress was in by mid-December (even though I was told it would take 4-6 months)... I was nice and gave Elynne Bridal a 2, because I love my dress so much. However, when I was originally trying on the dresses, I just remembered my sales woman being very...disappointing. I'm 5 foot 7, a size 10, and I wear a 34D, and the girl who I was working with was very unprofessional with her comments about my size (I'm not overweight at all)...She made comments about my dieting plans, and she kept saying things like "Is that all you can suck in?" If I wouldn't of had my army of bridesmaids and mom with me, I'm pretty sure I would have started crying. My mom got annoyed with her too, and told the manager we wanted to work with someone else. And then I found my dress! :) However, the second time I went in, I had made an appointment the day before...my friend and I waited for a half an hour in the waiting room (nobody was up front to help us) until we just walked into the show room and said that I needed to try on my dress (we were on a limited time schedule)...An older woman working walked up to me and kept telling me (this is no joke)..."You're not getting married! You're five! You're too young!" I was super annoyed at this point and told her that I had my appointment, but nobody had bothered to help me. She finally went back and got my dress...and put a board up next to the Couture room so I could change in there...my friend was blocking the holes so nobody could see me. : / FInally when I came out...she said to me "Ahhh hunny, you look like a grown up!" I'm a junior in college. Beware. read more

I could not have been more pleased with the service I received at Ellynne Bridal. As a recent Nebraska transplant, I wasn't sure where to go to look for a dress. I had been to a shop back home in Michigan and didn't have the best experience. I was apprehensive heading into the shop with this past experience in mind but was rather instantly put at ease. Paige immediately made me feel welcome, and I had a feeling that this was where I was going to find my dress. Paige pulled a selection of dresses that were all quite perfect, but 'the one' was among them. She quietly slipped a dress I had 'liked' on the online platform into the collection and saved it for last. When I tried that dress on, not recognizing it from online, I knew it was the one! Paige then told me it was the one I had liked, and I gave a big smile, grateful she let me choose it again organically. She then brought out champagne and took a picture of me with my two sisters. The whole experience was truly magical. And when I came back to pick up the dress, she was once again so helpful and kind. I could not recommend this shop enough -- the selection of a Chicago bridal shop with a friendly smaller-town, family feel. read more

I have been very pleased with the service at Ellynne's Bridal! The first time I went, the girl helping me was Madison, and she was very pleasant and helpful. The dressing rooms were beautiful and large enough to hold me and 4 girls. Their selection of dresses was amazing, and there were tons that I could've seen myself buying. I tried on a dress that was brand new (they had received it the previous night), and Madison brought the owner Lynne so that she could see how it looks on. Madison and Lynne were very sweet and they made trying on dresses so much fun! Madison took the time to completely lace me into every dress I tried on (the same can't be said of all bridal salons!). We left because I had another bridal appointment at a different store, but I had fallen in love with one of Ellynne's dresses (the one that I was the first person to try on, actually) and came back to buy it. Madison let me try it on again before I bought (actually, it was her idea!) even though it was a busy Saturday and I wasn't in my appointment time anymore. I was told that it would take 4-5 months to come in, and it actually arrived in just over 3 months. Yay! A warning: When my dress came in I was told I should come in and try it on. I was told when I got there actually wanted me to take it with me, because they don't store purchased dresses for insurance reasons. Luckily I had come by myself, so there was plenty of room in the backseat of my rather small car to put the dress. Keep that in mind if you buy at Ellynne's! When I picked up my dress, the tag on the bag said that I still owed for half, even though I had paid in full when I bought. The girl helping me was able to look it up in their computer and said that someone must have marked it down wrong in their paper file. Not a big deal, and the confusion was taken care of pleasantly and quickly. I think it's just something that comes from Ellynne's being a small shop without (I assume) the organization and technological systems that a chain would have. Overall, shopping and purchasing with Ellynne's was great, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Everyone treated me and my guests like princesses...it was definitely a "Say Yes to the Dress" type experience!! Thank you Lynne and Madison!! read more

This is the best wedding dress shopping experience in Nebraska. They treat you like royalty and you can tell they love their jobs. Fathers get a complimentary glass of wine while they wait. Brides have their own private dressing rooms large enough for moms and bride's maids. Our family has said "Yes to the Dress" twice. I highly recommend an appointment. read more

Buy your maids dresses online, Ellynne bridal charges nearly double what most online bridal shops charge. My 176$ bridesmaids dresses ended up costing 243$ through Ellynne Bridal (even with a "discount"). Also they took nearly 4 months to deliver. Dozens of bridal shops online sell them MUCH cheaper, deliver them faster & for free, and you'll save almost 100$ on hidden up charges (extra size, length, & DOUBLE shipping fees--Ellynne charges to ship to them for an "inspection" & then again to ship to you). One positive note: they did have a good selection of wedding dresses. read more

My sister and I recently came in to look at bridesmaid dresses, and were appalled by the lack of customer service. Upon entering the salon, there were two women at the front desk. One was on the phone and one was checking an appointment book. As the salon asks you to take your shoes off before stepping on the carpet, we stood awkwardly in the entrance waiting to be greeted. It took a minute or two before the woman checking the appointment book said hello. We did not have an appointment, and asked politely if we could look at bridesmaid dresses. She left for a few minutes to see if there was room available in the salon, leaving us still standing awkwardly in the front entrance- shoes on. When she came back, she showed us to the bridesmaid room and said that the dresses were in order by designer- pointing out the signs above the dresses with the names of the designers. As she left us, we had to ask what her name was. She answered "Nicole" and left. She did not ask us our names. We filled out hands with dresses and waited about 15 minutes for help. We found designer dresses on the racks that did not have signs indicating they were being sold- Jenny Yoo for one. There was no rhyme or reason for the way the dresses were "organized." When no one came to help us, we started toward the back of the store where the dressing rooms were. The sales associates were in a back room talking and laughing- and making food! We could smell microwaved food throughout the salon. Yuck! When we were shown a dressing room, Nicole realized that there were still loads of bridesmaid dresses in the room. She yelled across the store "Are these people finished? Are they done?" And two other sales associates yelled back at her that they were. Yelling in a bridal salon?? We tried on dresses, and were asked once how we were doing. Upon leaving, all sales associates were talking again in the back room. We were the only people left in the salon. We walked toward the front, and the woman at the front desk said nothing to us- she didn't lift her head. We put on our shoes and said "thank you!" to her on the way out. She said "thanks," and we vowed to never to return. If Ellynne doesn't like walk-ins, they shouldn't accept walk-ins. We walked into another bridal salon in Lincoln the following day. We were treated entirely differently! Customer service 101 needs to be taught at this store. Rudeness doesn't sell dresses. As a walk-in at the other store, with their politeness and help, we walked out with bridesmaid dresses bought. We would not recommend Ellynne. read more

I went here for wedding dress shopping and had a great experience and ended up getting my dress here as well. Ellynne made my experience personal. I made an appointment and upon arrival we discussed price range, date, styles I liked and what I didn't. I picked some dresses and she pulled some for me as well. She offered great opinions and thoughts and she also had great insight into things I hadn't thought about. They had a wide selection. There was a brief issue with my shoes coming in before I left for my destination wedding and Ellynne bent over backwards to make sure everything worked out okay. Anytime I stopped in the staff was helpful. They also provided a seamstress (Kim) that did an outstanding job. Because of timing I ended up getting a dress straight off the rack. She was able to take it from a size 10ish to fit my size 2 frame. Great experience!!! If you are getting married you should make an appointment and go! read more

Ellynne Bridal - Bridal Near Me - Lincoln, Nebraska

I am a Ellynne's Bride and have no complaints about when I was trying on dresses and ordering. They wre nothing but nice and helpful. HOWEVER as soon as my dress was in and I paid my remaining balance all cusomer service went out the window. My veil did not come in with the dress. They assured me it takes 3 weeks for a veil to come in, that was 6 MONTHS ago, and still no veil. My mother and I both call to check to see if it is in, we are "assured" everyday that it is in the next shipment and they will call us, they never do. We always have to follow up wtih them and it is not in. I stressed that with my wedding LESS than a month away that I have hair trials I need to have my veil for, even though they assured me it was goign to be in that afternoon, they offered me the use of one in the store--they had no faith that my veil was in. I have no idea whether to breakdown and buy another veil so I am assured I have one for my wedding, or to wait it out. This veil is already paid for but I'm over dealing with horrible customer service that htey have provided me with the last 3 months. Their only saving grace after you purchase a dress is Felicia the seamstress, she is sweet and amazing at her job. I suggest to every bride to consider this, if you want to be treated like a second class citizen go for it, if not find your dress somewhere else! read more

I 100% recommend Ellynne's to everyone looking for that fairytale "say yes to the dress" feeling. The staff was beyond nice and helpful in every aspect. I went to over 5 bridal stores before I went to Ellynne Bridal and felt like I was fighting with other brides to try on any dress but with Ellynne Bridal you get your own associate and room to try on as many dresses you need to until you fine "the one". I am absolutely impressed with Lynne's professionalism and genuine efforts into making every bride feel like a princess... Please do not go by some of these reviews because you might be missing out on your perfect "this IS MY dress" moment. read more

I tried on dresses at ellynne bridal. I found the dress I wanted only there was no price tag. We asked Lynne to look up the price. The price was a little more than I hoped to pay but I really loved it. My mom and I left for lunch and to discuss the price. We returned that same day to order the dress. When we went to pay we realized they were charging us over $300 more then we were told. It turns out Lynne misread the price and the more expensive one was the actual price which was now a lot more than I wanted to spend. Lynne apologized 100 times and said I could have a free Vail. I thought that was very nice of her. They told me my dress would take 4-6 months to come in. I ordered my dress 10 months before the wedding so I thought I had tons of time. 5 months after I ordered the dress I called to see when they planned on it coming in. That day came and went. I gave them some time and called back no one could give me an answer of when it might be in. 2 months later and I had still not heard anything. Lynne kept telling me she would call the designer and call me right back. She never called back. My dress finally came in less than a month and a half before the wedding. They then called me every other day telling me I needed to come get the dress even though I was told I could keep it there until I got it altered. Very unorganized. But I did get my free Vail. read more

This place was a very nice little shop. Lynne was very nice. However she kept forcing me into dresses that were obviously too small for me since that was all she had on her racks. She also made me try on some dresses that I knew I would hate before she even pulled them off the rack. Unless you know you are smaller than a 16, don't bother because you can't even try the dresses on to see how they look. read more

It is truly unfortunate that I should give this store even one store to express how horrendous my experience has been. I am no longer living in Lincoln, but some of my wedding party does. Out of convenience, I referred them to this store. This was my first mistake. The second was believing that they would treat me or my bridal party with any respect. My first bridesmaid ordered her dress months earlier than when I went in with my maid of honor, and when asked about approximate arrival of this first dress, they "couldn't find the order," and that WE must be mistaken. My bridesmaid was told she would not need to put any money down to have the dress ordered, and when we mentioned this, the woman, whose last name is Hanson (or something similar), scoffed at this and said "that wasn't policy." I was shocked she would treat any paying customer in such a manner. But the true reason for this scathing review is the complete disrespect this same Hanson woman showed my maid of honor. When measured, my MOH was told the size that would be ordered, and that they had previously ordered a gown for her that was too big. Hanson responded simply by saying that women of "your size" needed the bigger sized dresses. This comment alone was enough to send me in to such a rage I considered driving the 7 hours to the store and give this woman a piece of my mind, and ask the owner what kind of shop she was running. If this is how you treat bridesmaids, how are you treating your brides that don't live up to your "perfect princess" size 0? Completely unprofessional. If you want a truly wonderful, unforgettable and, most of all, positive shopping experience, I would suggest looking anywhere but here. read more

I have no idea why brides are complaining about Ellynne's. My experience there has been nothing short of fabulous. The staff is polite, helpful and genuine (i.e. telling me when dresses were either flattering or unflattering). As any bride knows, those can be difficult qualities to find in the wedding industry. I have had a couple of bad experiences with Ellynne bridal personally, and could tell you that I know people that have their own bad stories as well. When I was a bridesmaid in a wedding, we got our bridesmaid dresses from this place. I was putting my dress on 15 minutes before pictures were to start and the entire zipper pull fell off right onto the floor. After a few minutes of grandma's assessing the situation, we called Ellynne Bridal. They said I could come pick up the "sample" dress but of course they don't have any dresses in their store over a size 6 and I needed an 8, so that wouldn't work (plus, the word "sample' is plastered on the dress). I completely understood that they didn't have another dress for me but we didn't know where else to turn. I told them it needed an entirely new zipper and asked if I could bring it in. The lady was extremely rude, but agreed. We quickly jumped in the car and raced across town. The very nice seamstress put the new zipper back in quickly....i felt as though we had obviously upset the lady on the phone because not one associate of the store even said hi when we walked in the door. I put the dress on there and started to leave. An associate had stopped up and told me I had to pay for the alterations. In a stupid hurry, I hadn't grabbed my wallet (and not thinking I would need it). I told her that 1)I wasn't paying for it b/c it shouldn't have happened and 2) Even if I wanted to, I didn't have anything with me to pay. She actually threatened to call the police. I told her where they would be holding the wedding and they could find me there (of course they didn't show). I was back in time to jump into a couple of pictures but missed most of them. When I got married, I had a day off and was going to go do some dress shopping alone since my family lives out of town. I called ahead of time and told them i would be alone and that I would need an appointment and someone to help me and they said they'd put me down. I showed up a little early, and after standing in the reception area for almost 8 minutes, I decided to go look around (there was NO other customers in the store). Two associates kept coming in and out of the showroom but never said a word. I decided to pick out a couple of dresses and was hoping they were just trying to finish something up before helping me.After no help, I finally told a gal I was there for my appt and would like to get started and she said she'd be right in. I stood in the dressing room for almost 10 minutes. I decided to start trying them on myself. The actual owner walked in while i was attempting to try on the size 6 on my size 8 figure, and she said "that looks fabulous on you"...not sure how she could even tell, it wasn't even on me. I hung the couple of dresses back up and went back to the showroom to look for more. When I went back into my room, the 2 associates were in there with a whole different bride...my stuff was just laying all over the floor. When I walked in they said "can we help you?" I was SOOOOOO mad. I grabbed my stuff and stormed out of there. I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend this place to anyone. I'm glad for anyone that has had a good experience (my best friend did actually)...but I have more stories that are was worst than mine...from brides that actually bought their dresses there and they turned out to be nightmares....GOOD LUCK! read more

I went here to try on a dress that I had found in another state. I had it narrowed down to two dresses and called all over Omaha and Lincoln to see if anyone had this one dress I had tried on in another state but couldn't decide on while I was in that state. I called Ellyne and left a voicemail asking if they had the dress and gave them all the information. I received a called back later in the day from someone saying they definitely had that dress. I immediately scheduled an appointment to try it on. I specifically went to try on that one dress. I was not still looking. I was deciding between this one dress and one other dress at a different shop. When I got there I was greeted nicely, but when I told them I was just there to try on this one dress I was then greeted with confusion. They had me go in a room and wait while they looked for it and after 5 to 10 minutes they came back to tell me they did not have that dress, they don't know who told me they had it, or why that person thought they had it. They then tried to persuade me to look at other dresses that were not what I was looking for. Definitely a lack of communication in this store and I also felt like they were a little too pushy for me to take a look at some of there other dresses that I knew were not the right dresses for me. read more

Walked in without an appointment, nobody at the desk to greet me so I stumbled back to the dresses where no one spoke to me until I grabbed them to ask a question. Dresses were expensive, walked out the store feeling overwhelmed and unappreciated. I know it was mostly bc I didn't set an appointment however. read more

My daughter had an appointment to select bridesmaid dresses. The dressing room was so small I'm not sure how her six bridesmaids would have fit in the room. The staff was running around and we didn't have just one assistant assigned to us. The inventory is in horrible shape -- dirty dresses, missing details from dresses, broken zippers -- just so unappealing that as a customer you don't want to try them on. We felt very rushed and the final assistant that helped us was in such a hurry that she didn't write down the information on the mother's dress. We will NOT be ordering our bridesmaid, flower girl or mother of bride dress from this business. I would recommend the Bridal Isle in Loomis, NE. They have attentive staff and plenty room to try on wedding gowns, bridesmaid dress, and even flower girl attire. read more

The service was alright I guess. But they lost my sister's wedding gown and she didn't receive it until 3 weeks before her wedding. So somehow I just can't get past that. read more

I have never dealt with such rude sales associates in my entire life. I understand that these little bridal boutiques can get extremely busy, however, that's why we made an appointment. This place was an absolute zoo. Why would you bother having people make appointments if you aren't going to give anybody any sort of priority? Why would you give someone an appointment and then treat the customer like they're the bane of your existence? Obviously the shop makes enough money that you don't require your staff to practice basic customer service skills. Brides should not be leaving your store in anything other than happy tears. read more

Do not use this shop unless you want months of headaches, unkept committments and no communication. My daughter had a 1 1/2 year engagement and every month spent dealing with Ellynnes was painful. Below is a list of problems we dealt with repeatedly with their staff and directly with the owner. 1.) Gave us the wrong veil 2.) Was told they'd order the right one, had to keep checking on it repeatedly because they're incapable of using a phone. After months of checking on it and getting every excuse in the book, we were told it had arrived. We checked the veil while at the store so we didn't get it home again like the 1st time to realize it was the wrong veil..guess what it was the same WRONG veil they gave us the 1st time. In 4 months, they had even reordered it and corrected the problem. 3.) Talked directly to the owner with a list of complaints re: non communication, and inability to correct the veil issue for months. She ordered the right veil herself. 4.) We were not contacted when the 7 bridesmaid dresses arrived - had to call and see what was going on with them. 5.) 3 rounds of alterations and then socked with a $500+ alterations bill 6.) Owner called day before the wedding to say they couldn't deliver the dress. Went into the shop later that afternoon to talk to the owner again. They had the wedding date wrong and then she committed to delivering it on the correct date. 7.) You got it....they didn't deliver the dress. My sister had to go pick it up while our photographer was waiting. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!!!!TERRIBLE SERVICE AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF ANYTHING!! NOTHING BUT EXCUSES. 8.) They cancelled the dress fitting at 9:00 p.m. the night before because they had to fire a seamstress. Said they'd call to reschedule...they didn't. Had to go to the shop to ensure it got rescheduled. 9.) Good luck getting someone to even acknowledge you when you arrive at the shop. You'll usually wait to be helped....even when the shop is empty. read more

This store offers no customer service. I was looking for a dress and was totally ignored, even though there was only one other person in the store. Two clerks saw me, but then acted like I wasn't there. Not even a hello. The motto is 'where you are treated like a princess'. What a joke! You'd get more help at the mall. read more

It was a beautiful dress and the girl who helped me pick out my dress was great (thank you so much, Anna), but the awful girl who treated me and my mother like pests for checking in on my wedding dress ruined the entire experience. I wish I had asked her for her name so that I could call her back and tell her that she is in the wrong line of work. You belong behind a desk and a computer, my friend, where you can only impose your misery on yourself. I chose to come to Ellyne because I thought it would be special to buy my dress in my home town, but I should have paid the extra sales tax and bought it here in Chicago. Extremely disappointed in the customer service. read more
