I went in for an exam, same day after chipping a tooth. My regular dentist is $1887 for a crown etc…read morewith exam & x-rays. (Yes I called them. That's with sedation.) However, I let them know up front I was not from the area on the phone, and I strictly wanted an exam, (x-rays if needed and if possible, to grind the side where my tongue is being cut.) They sent a dental hygienist in to let me know I needed a cleaning that day, and to go over each of my teeth, I am sure that is standard with the exam. I am thankful they are through with that part. However, when the dentist came in, she refused before even seeing my tooth, to even help shave off where I am being cut and made to bleed. Then the dentist came back with a treatment plan of over $3900 for just a crown alone stating they could "guess stay late and start that day." When I let her know I am again, not from here, but this just happened at PF Chang's, and I can't come back in two weeks, she became very rude. The dentist again pushed the tablet towards me, and became hostile towards me. When I let her know I would just pay the exam fee which I was told the price, upon scheduling, she walked out of the room, talking about me in the next room to someone else about me being a "waste of her time." I paid my bill and when I was leaving I saw they also do braces, so I went back in and asked for dental wax. Before I pushed the door open to leave she heard or saw they had given it to me and the girl behind the front desk and the dentist acted like I had stolen something when the other lady at the front desk gave it to me. I offered to give it back, and was told "you've already touched it, but it's not for you."
Here's my response: I paid for services. I had a horrible experience. I do not suggest you take your loved one or yourself there. It was a clean office and the hygienist was very kind, but the dentist herself was not. Maybe it was a bad day for her, but forcing a treatment plan on me, offering me financing when I did not say I needed financing, I stated I do not live in the area and this just happened was the issue & also let the dentist know before I even scheduled the appt, to make sure it would not be an issue, to just have an exam, I am from out of town.
0/10 stars find a dentist that does not offer poor care when you decline a treatment plan. Because it was fine until then. No crown is 4k without a root canal. No dentist or doctor should ever make you feel like you are in a corner and nervous to say no thank you, and I will pay for the services I have been given, and then they go on to say horrible things.
