I would not recommend anyone engage with this firm thanks to Elaine Levine. She was incredibly rude…read moreand disrespectful with me as I tried to share with her a sensitive legal matter regarding a deceased family member. She repeatedly cut me off as I was talking, asking questions with roughness which I would have shared if she just let me talk. I never even got to state my request. She was so insensitive and I can't believe this is someone that works in family law.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF ELAINE LEVINE TO SAVE YOURSELF ANGUISH, TIME AND MONEY…read more Please take the time to read this to save yourself from needing to pay again for a different attorney. As a doctor speaking, I rarely give negative reviews to other professionals. In researching an attorney to prepare our wills and trusts, I did read the one negative review for this attorney prior to hiring her and brushed it over. It ended up being a perfect synopsis of our time with Elaine. (Most positive reviews for this firm are for her partner, whom we never met). Let me explain our circumstances. We hired Elaine Levine to prepare trusts and wills for out family. Initially, Elaine was courteous and did exactly what she said she would do. She was friendly, supportive and very easy to reach. She responded well to our numerous questions in a timely and efficient/effective manner. UNTIL she wasn't present for the final signing and we were rushed through the process. Witnesses were present and signed each document PRIOR to any reviews or signatures on our part as they were "in a hurry". We raised objections but they were quickly dismissed. We asked for detailed explainations of each document we were signing and felt very rushed. The final wills were never presented for review. We were told by the person filling in (?who she was, she introduced herself once but we never got a clear understanding, ? think she was some kind of assistant) near the conclusion of the meeting that she was in a hurry and needed to go to pick up her kids! Elaine was sick, but had been sick over a week. The practice clearly had time to notify us to reschedule. All for naught; we wasted $3,500 on USELESS wills and trusts that need to be redone by a special needs attorney for our son's special needs trust. Elaine was very well aware that we needed a special needs trust from the beginning and she (copiously) informed us she was NOT a special needs attorney. However, we had no idea of the implications of this (special needs attorney should always be seen FIRST to avoid wasting your time and money). We felt abandoned after our final meeting and then the relationship with Elaine turned hostile when we confronted her with the situation regarding her having to have KNOWN that the special needs trusts need to be done FIRST. Despite our reaching out regarding changes of beneficiaries not going througg and a request to review a brief 2 paragraph letter to family explaining what the documents were, we were rudely rebuffed by Elaine that her services had been concluded. The percentages of distribution to our non-special needs children in the conduit trust was INCORRECT. When we tried to rectify this, we were told in no uncertain terms that our relationship was now "concluded" (ie, payment had been received, I assume) - leaving us with INCORRECT, useless documents. Would definately NOT RECOMMEND Elaine Levine!!!! I should add that a while after everything was completed (we thought), an associate in her office reviewed our file and reached out to say a part of the paperwork was never received. This paperwork was mailed to us and when I called back for further instructions, Elaine got one the phone and was exceptionally rude, stating that since she read my review on line and knew how I felt about her, she wouldn't be helping us any longer and that we could just keep the unsigned paperwork her office sent. She made it clear that she had NO INTENTION of completing our file. She made sure all communication thereafter was terminated. HORRIBLE PROFESSIONALISM!!!!!!! What a waste of time and money!!!! Sickening.

Stephanie guided us through the trust and estate planning process with exceptional care, providing thoughtful, detailed answers to every question we had along the way. She was not only knowledgeable and professional, but also incredibly personable and relatable--qualities that made what could have felt like a daunting process both comfortable and reassuring. Everyone we interacted with at the firm was kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping our family create a plan that serves us well for years to come. We left the experience feeling confident, informed, and truly supported. It's rare to find a partner who combines such deep expertise with warmth and approachability, but Stephanie and the Thrift McLemore team do exactly that. We could not recommend them more highly!

Her excuse was there was another email sent the other day so somehow she missed the second one. After somehow missing seeing the email, she then ignored any request I made of her for another 12 days I had to escalate to senior party to even get her to call me back. You think after the senior partner was notified that she would be better after. No she got worse. She wouldn't respond to most of my queries for status updates. And if she did it would just be to say she would work on something next week. She never worked on it next week though. She also did not let me proof read a settlement offer before it was sent to the opposing party. It had factual errors and placeholder from a template. I had fire her. If she gets assigned to your case I recommend asking for another lawyer. But Patricia Roy is in my opinion a terrible layer.

Unresponsive Office Cost Me Money, Refused to Make It Right…read more I hired Brian M. Douglas and Associates LLC for my December 2025 real estate closing. The experience has been the worst I've had with any professional service. The Problem: My mortgage company, myself, and others sent advance notice about an incoming wire requiring verification, with a strict deadline I needed to meet for employer relocation reimbursement. Multiple follow-ups were sent to the office. For 1.5 days (Dec 11-12), multiple financial professionals couldn't reach the office to verify the wire: Goldman Sachs (my bank) - repeatedly told staff weren't available LPL Financial (my wealth manager) - same response Mortgage company - multiple attempts Me - ignored then told office "closed early" I was later informed that staff were working during these attempts. The office had already verified a prior wire successfully, so this was a routine task the team had done before. The Cost: I missed my December 12th deadline and incurred significant relocation-related costs as a direct result. The irony? After my deadline passed, I wired a much larger amount for closing and the office verified it immediately. My Good Faith Efforts to Resolve: I tried multiple times to work with them professionally: Initially attempted to communicate directly with the office to resolve the matter without formal demands When that failed, sent a certified demand letter requesting reimbursement for the costs I incurred due to their negligence When the first letter was returned due to addressing error, I paid for overnight delivery with signature confirmation Gave them clear options: reimbursement or insurance information The office signed for the letter on January 8, 2026 The Response: ZERO. No call, no email, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Complete silence despite multiple opportunities to resolve this professionally. Action Taken: Due to their complete lack of response and professional accountability, I have filed a formal complaint with the State Bar of Georgia. Bottom Line: Unprofessional, unresponsive, and unwilling to take accountability for mistakes. Cost me real money and won't even respond when given multiple chances to make it right. Complete lack of professional integrity. Avoid.

The law office uses the Calendy scheduling software, so I received no less than 15 reminder notifications on every digital platform possible leading up to the call, which was about a month out. The day of the appointment, I received a voice message at 11:49am regarding the 12 noon appointment during which Kathleen left instructions for me to call back if I still needed services. 11 minutes early? That was off-putting but nonetheless, I call back immediately, which is now 11:51. I am told by the receptionist that she stepped away from the office. Yup, gone in 2 minutes. This is a very poor experience since I purposely made myself available for this call which should have occurred at 12noon, per the 15 different notifications I received since I signed up for the call. I've never had a professional call me in advance of the call and then make themselves unavailable for the actual call time. I waited almost a month for this call and could have found another law firm during this time. Don't offer services that you don't actually wish to perform. So now I'm using our actual meeting time to write reviews. Screenshots attached.
