She claims to take new patients, but states that it is at her discretion. This gives her an opening for medical discrimination. If you have medical issues, she doesn't have to accept you. I attended as a new patient last year. Don't bother going, compassionate care doesn't exist here. I felt the doctor treated me rudely, like I was inconveniencing her by showing up for my appointment I waited well over an hour for, and I felt belittled for my current state of health. I will not be going back, and I don't advocate for anyone going back there. I'm reading some 1 star reviews; "She was out of town..." "I had to wait a half hour...". Blah, blah, blah -- WTF?; Welcome to the American medical system. Were you expecting house calls? Dr Eichler is a top tier doc; thorough, professional, and smart. She knows her stuff. Her questions are incisive, her evaluations are accurate and her remedies and prescriptions hit the mark. That's most important to me. Agree that the staff seems harried from time to time but they get the job done. The thing I find most annoying is that the auto attendant on the phone says they are open till 4:30 but the phones are often forwarded to the after hours call service well before then. read more

Wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. She LITERALLY HAS THREE STARS. ANY DR WITH 3 stars or less is doing something wrong. I don't feel comfortable talking to her. I feel super rushed every time I try to talk to her. Also her staff are super rude in person and over the phone AND DR EICHLER IS ALWAYS TOO BUSY TO TALK OVER THE PHONE. A while back she told me that she would prescribe me anxiety medication for flights. She said to call her and she would put the orders into the pharmacy. SO I DID THAT A few days before I had to fly to the Philippines. Then I get a call a day later saying they can't do that anymore and I didn't have anytime to get into the doctor. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I have been going to Dr. Eichler for over a year. She is very thorough with her exams and diagnosis. I never had a problem with the office staff as some people stated in these reviews. Would recommend her to anyone anytime. She's as good or better than any doctor we have ever seen. read more

Horrible office with uncaring staff. They are hands off, but to the point of complacency. Mandi, the receptionist, constantly sounds like she's depressed and takes the "patient is always wrong" approach. Completely unresponsive and fail to answer questions correctly. read more

1. I had a silent heart attack and found out by reading the referral form to the cardiologist. She never spoke to me about it. 2. Dr. Eichler was away for a month or more attending to family in the Eastcoast(summer 2015), but she was letting Mandi, her assistant play doctor. Dr. Eichler would call in for updates. I was in a car accident and I was told I had to utilize urgent care because the doctor was out of town: for more than a month with NO MEDICAL COVERAGE. 3. Switch to the electronic system, made her make major medication error and I had a mild stroke. Blood sugars in the 600-700s. She says it was not her mistake. Blames it on my insurance not approving my insulin. That was an outright LIE. Endocrinologist now prescribes the same amount I had been on for years. Eichler blamed me for not making enough appointments. I was seeing her every 8-12 weeks. She refused to speak about the stroke and said she knew nothing about it. 4. I asked Eichler about solutions to lose weight (I was in OA), but she told me there was nothing else. She refused to discuss my weight struggles after that day. I believe it is because she hasn't dealt with her issue of being morbidly obese. My body is severely damaged as I now search for help to lose weight. 5. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my regular medication and an antibiotic had been ordered for me. I called the office and Mandi said Eichler had called the office (she was out of state) and said I had a urinary infection. The doctor or her assistant read the wrong labs. The woman is a horrible physician and refuses to take responsibility when she makes a mistake or her staff makes a mistake. Mandi makes many decisions on her own. She eventually fired me as a client because she was afraid that I would sue her. I have been afraid to see any doctors since then, except for specialist when I am in extreme pain. Until 4 months ago she was listed as my PCP and continued to collect from my insurance. read more

I have been going to Dr. Eichler since moving to Tucson over a year ago. She is one of the nicest Dr's I have ever been to. I've always been seen within a few minutes of my appt time, and the last time I was there I had strep throat and my husband was in the waiting room, she saw him without an appt to test him for strep too. It's hard to find a Dr you like so it's worth driving to see her, I live over 30 minutes away and I'm sure there are other great Dr's on this side of town but I can't imagine seeing anyone else but her. The girls at the desk are sweet and unlike the other review on here I've never had a problem with reaching the office or receiving a call back. read more

Long waits at least a half hour to hour after scheduled appt time. Took time off work just have the Dr. cancel appt the day before. Tried calling the morning of my appt date to see if they could try to get me since I did not get the message till late the night before and will be leaving work early. Never got a call back. Went into the office to be told that there was nothing they could do. Not wasting my time with this Dr anymore. Hope no one else has to waste their time either. read more

Dr.Eichler has been my partner in health for many years now. Dr.Ellen listens to my concerns, and asks me questions about my various situations. I have chronic disease issues, and she has always helped me through it all. I love her staff, kind and professional, but often too busy; but what else is new for most medical offices? Dr. Eichler's office is very prompt once you actually get a hold of them and set an appointment, the problem comes when you try to call. I am always left on hold to the point that the voicemails comes on, I leave a voicemail and get no call backs. It's a little frustrating never being able to speak with anyone, and the girls that answer the phone could be a little more professional than saying "um, hi, um, ya, hold on" and never hearing from them again. read more
