I absolutely loved my impromptu experience at Ella Blu. A few months ago, I went to an appointment at DB, and it was dirty, very impersonal, and surprisingly more expensive than I thought it would be. The manager was pushy, and the sales associate basically gave up on me once she realized that I wasn't going to buy anything that day. I felt so overwhelmed and disappointed that I decided to wait another month or two to start looking again. About a month later, I saw a dress that Ella Blu posted on their Instagram. Between hearing my coworker's amazing experience at Ella Blu, falling in love with the dress on Instagram, AND the trunk show discount, I decided to stop by an hour before closing ON A FRIDAY to just try the dress on. Catherine was my sales associate, and I couldn't have asked for a sweeter person to help me out. She asked about our wedding and really listened to what I wanted. The showroom was beautiful, and the dressing rooms were very large and pretty! The Instagram dress wasn't for me, but the second dress they brought in was AMAZING and I was immediately sold. I finally felt like I was in a fairy tale. Since my mom wasn't with me that day, I decided to still purchase the dress and take her to "visit the dress" the next day. My dress buying experience was totally different than I imagined that it would be, but it was WAY less stressful this way and I bought something that I really LOVED. read more

Horrible experience. Called TWICE to confirm that I could bring in my dress (special ordered from an overseas designer) to try on accessories to match and was told both times it would be perfectly okay, and that is would be PREFERABLE to bring it in to find the best match (they told me they confirmed with a manager). So, I booked the appointment. However, once I got there I was met by a very rude older brunette who said that I should have been told this wasn't allowed, but she went and talked to her manager and came back to say that I could, but I was not allowed to step out of the dressing room - if I had known this, I would never had booked. Then, she proceeded to be very rude the entire time and made me very uncomfortable. Finally, my party and I got fed up and just left. If you want good quality designer gowns AND good service, please, go out of town to a real high quality boutique. This was not it. read more

The bridal shop is SO cute and has a very wide selection - Pam asked and attentively listened to what I wanted in a wedding dress and found the perfect dress for me. I want to add some lining and sleeves to the dress for a more modest look and Pam made me feel 110% confident that can be done and that it would look great. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE-UNKIND & UNPROFESSIONAL I went into Ella Blu happy and excited about trying on dresses. The owner was so rude and condescending. She kept making me feel small and dumb, like I didn't know what I wanted. She kept scoffing and rolling her eyes when I was sharing with her the special details of my wedding. Her pride made it VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, where she told me she helps "all the girls" who are like me. She was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, bored looking while she was sighing a bunch. I felt very unwelcome. I had a certain style in mind and she told me it looked like a cocktail dress just so I would buy one of her dresses. The price of each dress is over 1,000 and they didn't have what I wanted. It was a ruined experience, and a shame, really. read more

Can I just say this place is so cute inside! It has a section for prom dresses, mother of the bride, a boutique section, and then bridal gowns. I came to look for a bridal gown and had shopped at 2 other stores before. Ella Blu had a large selection and expert consultants. I worked with Pam who made my mom and I feel welcomed. She listened to what I wanted and said more than the generic, this is a beautiful dress and that looks good on you on every thing I touched. The dresses seemed to of better quality than some of the other places I've looked at. I felt like I made an informed decision with Pam and said yes to the dress!! I have had the WORST experience with this place ! Yes their dresses are beautiful but their customer service is the worst of the worst . I had to order a bridesmaid dress , the sales woman was very nice at first . She measured me , and tells me I am a size 8 . I Inform her i think I need a smaller size . The dress is one of those that are tight around the torso and lose around the hips . I say maybe a 6 or a 4 . She then tells me , according to the chart I'm an 8 and reassured me It will fit me fine . I take a deep breath and think : she knows what hat she's doing she's a professional . So she asks me to sign a form where I accept to order a size 8 . I ask her if she's sure it will fit me . Yes yes it will fit fine .i sign .. When the dress arrived and I went in to try it on . It was huge on me ! But I knew this was gonna happen . I'm already upset because they wouldn't listen to me . She suggests I go with one of her seamstresses so I schedule an appointment but I made them aware that I was disappointed with their measuring skills . The seamstress is super nice she quotes me for $100 because now she has to cut like 2 inches of each side to make it fit me . I complain to Romie and tell her that I think it is outrageous that i have to pay $100 for alterations on a dress that THE SALESPERSON told me would fit . They say the seamstress will give me a discount . At this point I'm like wait a minute , why is she giving me a discount when it was the stores fault ! The seamstress is an independent contractor they say and she's charging you too much anyway . Um no , she practically had to remake the dress because they ordered the wrong size . She needs to get the money she's owed for her hard work . It is just not fair The front desk clerk then (raising her voice )acuses me of telling them they are stealing from their employees. Wow , her tone , her customer service skills . Deplorable . She should not be in front desk . I did not acuse them of such thing . I was stating that they should take responsibility for their wrong doings and not have other people Pay the price because they can't be humble and cover the price of the alterations since it was their FAULT. I was not complaining of the seamstress she was the sweetest person . She did an amazing job and was always nice . I wouldn't have minded paying if I knew the dress had been ordered correctly by the sales woman . But since it was their wrong doing I feel they should cover it but of course they didn't . I had such a wonderful experience trying on wedding dresses at Ella Blu. I had my sister and Mom with me. Deciding to try on dresses was extremely last minute but we decided to "just look" since we were all in town together for Thanksgiving. My sister made an appointment for me online. She actually had booked two other appointments at two different boutiques as well to "keep my options open" and the following morning, Ella Blu was the only boutique to personally call me to confirm my appointment and express how excited they were to help me find my wedding dress. Romie was my stylist and I couldn't have been more happy with her services. I was really nervous and Romie made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. She was very personal and genuine when asking questions about my wedding. I highly recommend requesting Romie helping you choose your perfect dress. My family and I had the most perfect experience with Romie Davies and her staff. I went in with my 93 yr old grandmother and mother for my first bridal appointment and from getting out of the car and in the door, an employee who was headed into work helped us to the easiest way to get into the store with a walker. So going into Ella Blu I was skeptical but Crystal the associate quickly changed that. She was attentive, she listened and was able to pick out beautiful dresses that were just my style. The shopping experience was great. I agree that Romie was absolutely perfect during the sales process. The problems began when the dress came in. My size 4-6 daughter was told to order a size 8 dress that came in about a size 2. The seamstress was a nightmare and started making my daughter come to her home for alternations and asking for cash. She charged $250 to fix a dress that they ordered too small and then tried to extort another $45 cash on the spot. I called Romie to express my concerns and was repeatedly told my daughter would be a beautiful bride. I was never doubting my daughter would be a beautiful bride, the issue was the dress was no where near zipping. They kept saying she had gained "alot" of weight which was not the case. Why was there a $250 charge in the first place, much less an additional $45 on top of that. The problem is the dress didn't fit and the alterations looked like something a 4th grader did with crooked lace that was obvious in a photo. Even Romie agreed the lace was wrong. Romie agreed to pay the last $45 for the seamstress to fix what she had messed up but they would not come off the original $250. We finally got the dress here to Houston 5 days before the wedding and had it fixed. The Houston seamstress was appalled at how poorly the dress had been altered and the first thing she said was that if fabric had to be added, it should have been under the arms and covered in lace, which was my first thought with my limited sewing skills. Instead, they added fabric down the center of the back and literally ruined the lines of the dress. The day before the wedding we discovered the bag with the veil did not include the $140 tiara. I called Romie again and asked for a refund so we could purchase a replacement before the wedding. She kept saying she remembered wrapping it up and it must be with the seamstress or she could look around to see if it was still in the store. I didn't care where it was at that point, I just knew it wasn't in the bag with the veil or the dress and we were one day from the wedding. What a mess. Horrible customer service after the sale and they charge for every single one of their mistakes. read more

I visited the store, and found that some of the reps like Trisha ( hope name is correct) are to be very helpful and catering. I have over 20 years in retail sales experience. Never have I heard when a company will issue a gift card for a return but limit them on the purchase and tell them, you can't use the gift card on buy one get one free merchandise. The gift card is a form of payment, not a coupon that can not be combined with other promotions or offers. The dollar value was still spent in your store regardless. No need to be ridiculous with simple made up rules that will make your business seem immature over the simple satisfaction of the customers needs that could have been easily met with honoring spending your own gift card like it was cash or credit card. read more

I am from Houston, TX and was introduced to Ella Blu by a friend who always seem to have something cute on. I saw her with a mighty charging purse and ended up purchasing one for myself. The purse comes in handy and I use it daily. The product was shipped and delivered to me in a timely manner. I also follow Ella Blu on Instagram and enjoy seeing all the unique bridal/evening dresses, shoes and accessories they carry. As a native Houstonian, I have yet to see a boutique in Houston with amazing products and too bad Ella Blu is in El Paso. I must say that for being a boutique, I only came away with this impression: a snippity and over rated. For a boutique, they didn't have the professionalism nor their staff the knowledge to properly order the correct size dress (bridesmaids dress) for me. I was made to feel that with my measurements I had to be a fat girl and not someone with curves. The manager spent 7 minutes arguing over how I measured wrong instead of handling it with some form of decorum. Their seamstress was called and low and behold, her measurements were exactly what mine were....only guess what? I lost inches on my waist. It had only been 5 months since I gave my first measurements. The seamstress was amazing and was able to fix the dress and still have it look nice. Thank you Paty!! My review for Ella Blue: rude, overpriced and nothing special. Think twice before you shop here. I will not be returning. No one deserves to go through the nightmare I did...not to mention the stress they caused the bride who was present for the whole thing. read more
