The bar is dark, with tables surrounding a large dance floor. The unique bar is at one end boasting western style saddles for seats. The patrons, few that were came specifically to see Keith. Couldn't help but notice the bartender's absence. One patron waited over 30 minutes to pay their tab after finally tracking down the bartender outside smoking. Saw several customers come in but left when there was no one to wait on them. It is strictly a saloon so eat before you come as there isn't anything to eat for purchase.

We popped in to take a look around and had agreed to come back sometime in the evening. There was a woman behind the bar, wearing glasses and looked slightly older herself. She greeted us and seemed rather bothered by the fact that we would come back later for a drink instead of starting at noon on a Friday. Before we left, my again.. 85 year old, grandmother needed to use the restroom and cannot walk very far distances and the woman refused to let her and pretty much was shooing us out the door. So what would have been a new customer for the evening turned into me never coming back here EVER. I would never in my life turn away an elderly OR pregnant woman needing to use the lavatory in a public establishment. WILD! She was extremely rude and probably shouldn't be working around people if that's her best customer service behavior. Normally I wouldn't leave a comment on a business, but I'm sorry you're not about to treat my granny like that and me not say something.

They became an outlet for women to get out of the house and to assert their independence by allowing them to get involved in politics during a time when they were expected to be homemakers. Women's clubs helped to launch the women's rights movement. The Punta Gorda Woman's Club was formed in 1925 when three clubs consolidated, The Ladies Fortnightly Club, The Women's Club Civic Association, and The Married Ladies Club. They came together to be able to be able to build a one story Spanish Mission style building in 1926 on land in downtown Punta Gorda donated by Judge William Fenmore Cooper from Illinois. Throughout the years the building housed stage productions, dances, meetings and dinners. The building housed the first library for 30 years and during WWII it was used as a USO. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. In 2000 the Woman's Club transferred the deed to the building to Punta Gorda Historical Society. The building is available for rent for private functions from the Woman's Club.

The location is easily located via gps and is mainly long stretches on the same two roads before arriving. The driveway is lovely and secluded with ponds to look at on the short drive up to the venue location. The barn, main house and bridal suite are set back perfectly. They are grand but still inviting. You can tell that time went into decorating this venue because no detail was spared. From family bibles and photos of a wedding, to wedding dresses of the brides in the family- you feel like family and warmly welcomed. The owners were so warm, kind and accommodating. There is a large tree on the property that was perfect for the ceremony portion of the wedding. The grounds have plenty of room for tents to be set up for a lovely reception as well. This is a well thought out venue for a perfect outdoor wedding. My ONLY warning is - you must love animals. Luckily, we all adore them and we're so happy to see cats, large dogs(kept inside the main house and were quiet the whole time) and horses. They even allowed our bride to take some photos near one of their gentle horses. You will NOT be disappointed with this location or family. They were a blessing and made the whole event so spectacular for my best friend!
