My issue is the sales pressure for the "deep cleaning" that has crept into almost every dental office in the last decade. And Elko Dental Care was no exception. Is there a time and place for the deep cleaning? Of course. It's a legit procedure. Does every patient need it every time? No.

No cavities since I was a teen. And without fail, every dentist I've seen in the last decade has pressured me for this deep cleaning, even when I'd just had one the year before.
Elko Dental Care went to another level, trying to convince me that the standard cleaning could actually be bad for me. They then had me sign an AMA waiver in order for them to do the standard cleaning. Then they told me that they would only do the standard cleaning this one time. Next time, I'd have to get the deep cleaning. Don't worry; there won't be a next time. read more
