I was extremely pleased with the service we received from Elizabethan Catering for our wedding reception a few weeks ago. We had originally booked them for April 2020 but of course all events during that time were cancelled. I was extremely impressed with how easy they made it to move our event and we were finally able to celebrate 2 years later. Rather than a traditional dinner, we just did a snack buffet with green onion cakes, pierogis and an assortment of cheese, fruits and vegetables. There was way more food than I expected. The portions were extremely generous and everything was delicious. They were even able to make gluten free versions for those who needed them. The bar service was also excellent. They were able to accommodate our signature cocktails and kept the drinks flowing all night. Throughout the night, staff made sure the tables were quickly cleared and food was replenished. Finally I want to highlight the excellent service Jillian provided throughout the planning process. She made planning a breeze and I really appreciated all of her suggestions and input. read more

What can I say??????? Amazing, beautiful, caring, polite, professional, at ease all day, and the staff was beyond genuine. I have known Steven and Liz for over 30 years. I have seen them at various events from bar b ques to hundreds of weddings, each and every time, they are early, food is always hot and smiles on the guests and staff. Then, in September of 2018, we had the opportunity to personally have their team for our own wedding. From the first meeting to the clearing of dishes, after the food service, the event was exceptional! My amazing wife also had unique ideas for the food and they were addressed and provided. There was always extra hot and freshfood for our guests, and the comments over the deserts was "these deserts are to die for" From my brother, who is a chef in his own way, that is a 10 star. Tet's talk about the presentation of the various food stations to their desert stand, it was like being at a art exhibit! Well done Is he going to stop?? I had the opportunity to experience the Elizabethan Catering services (ECS) at a wedding function this weekend. I thought I would give a breakdown on each plate served and then discuss the stellar service: Antipasto - This made the entire table chuckle! I have never thought a catering company could screw this up. The dish is composed Genoa salami, Jalapeno loaf and another type of mystery meat. I don't know any chief in this world that would consider this an Antipasto and should be embarrassed to serve this at an Italian wedding. Since this table was primarily children and true Italians, needless to say the bread was devoured. The head chef seemed to be delivering baskets of bread to various tables so I took advantage to request a basket for our table which was met with an "Absolutely Not!" This was the first request for bread...Keep that in mind. Salad - We had high hopes for this portion of the meal. The table had a general consensus that the antipasto was a fluke fail but patiently waited for the salad. The plate was served with 3 slices of unripen tomatoes with 5 mini bocconcini cheese balls. The balsamic reduction had an eerily similar taste to the Compliments brand which could be purchased at the local grocery store. During this laugh, we made the second request for a new basket of bread (as the first one fell on deaf ears) which the "Head server" (Head Server is only an assumption as he was directing the other servers and had a clipboard). The second request was met with a "We need to serve everyone first", I fully understand standing with a clipboard and pointing could be stressful but it was game on!!!. Pasta - As Die Hard Italians, I am going to admit we had virtually no hope for this plate. It was mediocre at best. The thing that was absolutely shocking was not the lack of flavor or no parmesan cheese on the table but the size of the portion. The chef obviously portioned the pasta out with a small soup spoon, which led to a game "The person with the smallest amount of pasta has to get the table drinks". Side note the lowest amount of penne on a plate was 17. As the pasta was getting delivered my new head waiter friend (who decided to try a "if I don't look at him he can't see me tactic while delivering the pasta) was now asked for a 3rd time for a new basket of bread. He then got immediately frustrated and asked another server to bring me a basket of bread. At this point we didn't want the bread but it turned into a table game to see if we would be able to get it. Someone at our table even texted the phone number at the back of the wedding menu for some bread and water. The Main course - The prime rib. The pièce de ré·sis·tance a staple at any traditional Italian wedding. A pcs a meat that any whole hearted amateur backyard enthusiasts can create with ease. The prime rib was grossly over cooked to the point that people were looking for spare gravy on the neighbors plate to help ease it down. Once again, as the plate was getting delivered I asked the "Head Waiter" if he knew what was happening with the bread. His response was classic "We ran out of bread". At this point I had to hang my head in shame and reach into my jacket pocket to pull out the crisp $20 bill and hand it over to my brother in law; as I was on the losing end of that bet. You would think at this point the 2022 bread situation was over (as the dinner service ended). At some point during the dance the head server as a joke or to prove a point decided to bring a basket of bread over and leave it in the exact spot I was sitting. So in conclusion, The food was sub mediocre at best even with the 80's inspired garnish, the portioning was laughable and the service was a disaster. I don't think I would ever recommend this company to anyone. read more

I can not thank Elizabethan and their staff enough for making our wedding so fantastic! I still have people messaging me and talking about the food! Even with all the nerves I still ate a huge plate of their delicious food at our wedding. Emily was amazing to work with! I hired Elizabethan a few months ago for my wedding this past May as a suggestion from my photographer. She's been to more weddings than I have so I asked her what she remembered as the best food she's ever had and Elizabethan was the most memorable. Right away you have personalized service with a coordinator who really helps you figure out what needs to be done, which is especially helpful if you've got little to no experience planning large events. They also have occasional tastings where you can sample all the delicious food they have to offer. If you have a chance to go, it's definitely worth the small cost to eat like royalty. My wedding had around 120 guests and we chose the silver menu with the prime rib roast, roast chicken, and we added the salmon. The sides were delicious and I've had people tell me they've been dreaming of the salmon and beef since. The Elizabethan coffee was so smooth I didn't need cream or sugar. And the desserts!! I've never seen my husband rave so much about any food as he has the creme brûlée. There was plenty of food and even after people went for seconds I saw that there was a full roast still on the carving table. The staff was wonderful and all were friendly and professional. My little cousin (2yr) was smitten with the carving chef and wanted to stay with him all night. Right through the entire planning process I felt like I could talk openly to the owners and they answered any questions I had, they even called on occasion to check up on my planning. The Monday after there were some things that needed to be returned and it was super easy to do so. I think my only regret is picking a wedding dress with a corset bodice so I couldn't eat more wonderful food. read more

They catered a turkey diner for our Xmas work lunch. They ran out of turkey of all things, gravy was watery, some wierd salad and the cranberry sauce was so bizarre it also didn't taste like cranberry sauce at all. Disappointed. read more

Elizabethan almost ruined my wedding day. We were forced to hire Elizabethan Catering because of the remote location of our wedding. Despite having limited options, we were hopeful that Elizabethan would provide the excellent food and service they had promised. This couldn't be further from the truth. After meeting with them to discuss wedding meal options, we were excited to hire Elizabethan as they wooed us into believing that the food would be delicious and plentiful. To ensure we had enough food for our 120 guests, we overestimated the number to Elizabethan just in case. On the day of the wedding, it was a huge nightmare. There was a massive shortage in food, not everyone was able to even eat, and thus we had wedding guests who went hungry for the rest of the day. The portions were incredibly small, and many of them were not what we were promised. We had countless people come up to us and ask if there was anymore food, not something you want to deal with on your wedding day. When the desserts came out, they brought small plates out one at a time, instead of the promised platters of various dessert squares. As people were lining up, there was only one small plate to choose from, so you couldn't pick out of an assortment. Guests also commented that the dessert was stale and tasteless. As for the "vegetarian" options, we were promised that our vegetarian wedding guests/bridal party would receive a "gourmet vegetarian mean", which turned out to be the same meal with the meat removed. So their "vegetarian" meal was vegetables and carbs, with no protein source. So incredibly humiliating. When we brought these issues up to Elizabethan after the wedding, we were met with defensiveness and rudeness. Payments were already made. I will never hire Elizabethan again, this was one of the most regrettful experiences of my life. read more

Elizabethan catered a birthday party I was throwing at my home. I was a little last minute - but they took care of everything and made it an incredibly easy night for me. They arranged a site visit before hand where Loretta gave me great suggestions for maximising a small space. At the event, the servers were incredibly nice and professional - they were constantly working to unobtrusively clear glasses and plate and replenish food. Food was tasty and I appreciated the simplicity of the "all-in" pricing. I would definitely use this company again. read more

We had Elizabethan cater our wedding on September 1st, 2018. I cannot express enough how amazing this company and staff were. Planning a wedding is a very stressful and difficult process, especially if you do not hire a wedding planner which we did not. I can honestly say that the best part of the whole experience was having this company as our caterer. They made absolutely every step of the process easy and hassle free. We worked directly with Jillian and she was attentive and answered our emails within minutes. she was available by phone whenever we needed her and went above and beyond in helping us with this whole process. We really had our hearts set on doing a plated service and having beef at our wedding, both of which we knew would be a little more costly, but Jillian helped us to easily create a menu that was within our budget. You really cannot beat their prices, we looked and got quite a few quotes and we're so glad we found this company. We went for a tasting to try out their food beforehand and it was such an amazing experience. From meeting the staff and owners to really trying all of the amazing food they have to offer really helped us on picking our menu. Our guests raved about the food and the service we received. The setup was beautiful and quickly done by their staff the day before which really helped us out a lot. I highly recommend this company, I highly recommend going for the tasting to really see the quality of food they present and to meet the people here, as you can tell they really put their heart into their work. This company is terrible, I have heard good things and used it for my daughters wedding. There sales person Vicky was rude and nickle and dimed us she was never pleasant to deal with until it came time to pay (you can always tell who is on commission. After we did we couldn't get any positive contact with her. At the Wedding they screwed up the food my daughter had allergies so we made menu changes which they charged us for we were told they could do nothing and that the other guest were happy with the food so my daughter had salad at her wedding. They are delirious since to food was cold and my family was embarrassed! I tried to get resolution and I was told by our sales person that I was grateful, I just had to consider this a huge loss. read more
