I was first requested to have a mandatory paid initial consultation session to go over my legal help needed. I was introduced to Julie S. during this session. After describing my specific case & needs, she informed me that Geller Law can handle my case. What followed was months of emotional stress & redundant conversations with the staff of this firm that yielded no results. It became clear to me that they didn't know how to legally handle my case. Some staff members were argumentative & appeared trying to take advantage of this emotional situation for me. There were redundant conversations that I was later billed for. I concluded that this firm is not the choice that can handle my case professionally. I terminated my work with them. The new law firm I selected to handle my case turned out to be more knowledgeable for my case. And, more compassionate with me. The process was handled smoothly & professionally to completion.

The circuit court of Virginia determined that my lawyer, Kevin Jaros' billing was unreasonable…read more My lemon law case was settled out of court in my favor, but the defendants refused to pay my legal bills, claiming they included unnecessary and excessive activities, block billing and administrative tasks charged at senior lawyer rates. The case for the legal fees went to a Circuit Court of Virginia hearing My lawyer decided not to attend and instead sent a junior partner, Bret Giaimo, whose hands were visibly shaking and voice kept breaking up with nerves. Judge Stoney was clearly not satisfied with the Giaimo's explanation for Jaros' billing practices and awarded me only 70% of my costs as reasonable, leaving me over $11,000 out of pocket. When I asked Jaros to amend his billing to better reflect what the judge determined as reasonable, he refused. Even when I asked him to split the difference he flatly refused. To add insult to inquiry, after the court hearing Jaros sent me a long email telling me that I should look at this as a victory because the defendants were not happy with the amount they had to pay out . He then billed me a further $113 for the 'pleasure' of his email. Overall, I was billed more than $40,000 and was awarded $29,000 by the court as reasonable fees. We provided our contact information as required. Over a week later, no response (no phone call or voicemail and no email, and yes we checked our spam and promotions folders). Attached is a screenshot after submitting the webform showing it was received and "We will get back to you as soon as possible!" It's obvious by now they are not going to respond. The professional thing to do is respond even if they don't feel they can help us, instead of simply ignoring the inquiry. And there are no excuses such as: "We never check inquiries via our website." If that's the case then remove the webform from your website. "We prefer that inquiries are made over the phone." If that's the case then again, remove the webform from your website. "The employee responsible for checking the online inquiries forgot to do it." The employee should be counseled about the potential loss of business to the law firm by such inattentive behavior. "We read your inquiry and decided we can't or won't help you, for whatever reason." The professional and responsive thing to do in this case is to simply communicate that to the person who submitted the inquiry.
