Dr. Gad did not want to do viral testing or refer me to an infectious disease specialist. She was adamant I only undergo testing for sleep apnea, which was a lengthy process lasting over half a year, while I continued to be plagued with viral symptoms. I was finally told I had mild OSA, which didn't warn't treatment, and was not the cause of my fatigue and chronic viral re-activation. Dr. Gad downplayed my symptoms, and blood test abnormalities. I felt like I was being gaslighted, because she either didn't know what to do, or couldn't be bothered to look into it. She always seemed rushed and not in a good mood. I insisted I see a blood specialist over a year later (she said it wasn't necessary), who revealed I have antibodies for EBV, which explains my fatigue, viral re-activations, weight loss, swollen glands appear when I'm tired, and a myriad of symptoms, including digestive and cardiac issues. She didn't even bother to follow up on those tests with me, after she received them. In person, she was dismissive, short with me at times, and unfriendly. This doctor did not like being repeatedly asked to explore other reasons for my debilitating symptoms, and months would go by, while she denied the value of seeing an infectious disease specialist. Had she just checked me for viral activity when I was acutely sick, after maybe the 3rd re-activation in 3 months, I might have been spared much anguish. She let over a year go by, convinced of her one theory of an underlying sleep apnea issue. I have never fully recovered from those virus re-activations, and Dr. Gad deserves to be formally reported. Dr. Gad recently neglected to fill a prescription for blood pressure medication for well over a week, when it was critical, as I kept begging my pharmacy for pills. No one at the pharmacy could understand the situation, and thought was a glitch in the system, but finally someone deduced she just forgot to refill a critical prescription and apologized profusely for this doctor who should have her license questioned.

PLEASE READ I have…read morebeen a patient of Doctor Fagelmans for over 5 years. Last year due to switching a family group insurance plan I had to switch doctors, which was upsetting. I spent over a year trying to find another primary care doctor, however I was unable to find anyone that was even close to good as Fagelman is. I now have switched insurance providers JUST to have Dr. Fagelman as my primary care physician. His staff is unbelievably helpful and friendly. Every time I come into the office I am greeted with a big hello and smile. Furthermore, they always remember my name! Delita and the receptionists are caring, sweet, and very kind people. They go the extra step to create a relaxing environment where people feel welcomed. The reason why I am writing this is because Fagelman has always taken and extra step while caring for me and my many (thankful) friends I have referred to him. I once showed up unannounced with no appointment and somehow he managed to fit me in. I could tell he was busy in and out of appointments but somehow made time for me. His bedside manors are incredible-I feel very comfortable to talk to him about any issue or concern I may have. Fagelman approaches healthcare in a very cautious and proactive way. When he is treating me or diagnosing me he considers all aspects of my life, previous health issues, and overall wellness into consideration. He sees the larger picture as well as the smaller one! Overall Fagelman is a fantastic doctor. I highly recommend. Thank you for reading.

I actually had this written in my notes for a while and decided not to post it because I wanted to…read moremove on. But after what happened most recently, I feel like I should share my experience. I mentioned during my appointment that going to the doctor gives me anxiety and that I would really appreciate someone taking the time to review my lab results with me after my physical. After my bloodwork and routine physical, instead of receiving a call to discuss my results, I got a phone call from the front desk telling me I owed $375. My immediate reaction was confusion because my annual physical is fully covered by my insurance. Being unexpectedly told I owed hundreds of dollars after what I believed was a covered preventive visit was incredibly stressful. What made the situation worse was the interaction with the front desk. When I expressed my surprise and frustration, the staff member laughed and said something along the lines of, "Sorry, your picture looked so innocent and now you're pissed." That felt completely unprofessional and dismissive, especially given how anxious I already was. They then offered to "discount" the charge to somewhere in the $200 range. After I questioned the bill and went back and forth with them, they ultimately removed the charge entirely. If the fee could simply be waived after I pushed back, it made the whole situation feel arbitrary and left me wondering whether patients who don't question these bills just end up paying them. It honestly felt like a money grab rather than a transparent billing process. What finally pushed me to write this review is that I still had never received a call to go over my lab work or test results, despite specifically asking for one during my appointment. When I called the office myself, I was simply told they would send me a link to access my results online. Then they added that if I wanted someone to actually explain my results in more depth, I would need to schedule *and pay for* another appointment. That was honestly the most disappointing part of the entire experience. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I wanted a physician to spend a few minutes reviewing the bloodwork from my annual physical, especially after I had shared that medical appointments make me anxious. Instead, I was treated like discussing my own health was an additional service that required another visit. Overall, I left feeling dismissed, frustrated, and genuinely hurt. The only proactive phone call I received from this office was about collecting money--not about my health or my results. Between the confusing billing, the unprofessional interaction with the front desk, and the complete lack of follow-up regarding my care, I cannot recommend this practice.

He then sent me a bill for the appointment nearly TWO years after the appointment took place. He and his staff blamed billing and an administrative error for the bill but still required hundreds of dollars in payment. And so I wanted to take the time to pay it forward to other Yelpers by noting that Dr Bungay has now moved his practice to NYU Langone Penn District over on 31st and 9th. I saw him there for the first time today and I have to tell you, I was IMPRESSED. The facility is brand spanking new and in amazing condition, and every staff member I met was friendly and helpful. The new office runs extremely efficiently. I arrived 10 minutes early, checked in at the electronic kiosk, and was welcomed in 2 minutes before my official 2pm appointment time by a nurse who did my intake. Dr Bungay saw me right after, and then another nurse came in to give me a quick and easy tetanus shot after about 5 minutes' wait. This facility also happens to have a phlebotomist onsite, and so I FINALLY got bloodwork done after years of never getting around to making a separate appointment at LabCorp downstairs! An extra bonus -- one of the nurses had already gotten me in "line" for the phlebotomist before I even walked out of Dr Bungay's office, so I had zero minutes of wait time once I walked down the hall to get there. Lab results began to roll into the patient portal later that same night, and I was notified by text message. All very impressive. Dr Bungay himself, of course, remains as gentle and caring of a doctor as he always has been. For anyone potentially worried about the loss of Gotham Med and the transition to the big faceless NYU Langone machine -- you don't need to be. It still feels like the kind and friendly practice that Dr Bungay's old office was, and now maybe even a little shinier!
