Elizabeth Gidey has been taking care of both my husband and me for the past 10 years, and we truly couldn't be more grateful. In our late 70s, we deeply appreciate how attentive, patient, and thorough she is with us at every visit. She consistently takes excellent care of our dental needs and has helped us through a variety of challenges over the years with great skill and care. Beyond her professional expertise, she is incredibly personable and connects with us on a genuine human level, always making us feel seen, heard, and comfortable. Her staff is also exceptional--always welcoming, responsive, and accommodating, whether it's fitting us in for last-minute emergency appointments or simply ensuring we feel at ease and well cared for during every visit. It's a shame that her husband who is the guy at the front desk runs all of her business away!!!!! He has consistently been rude over the years and even when I did attempt to return and just suck it up nothing had changed. She's an excellent doctor and kind person but I guess keeping a professional spouse at the helm is more important than patient care if she even has a choice. Smdh read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Gidey for over 5 years. She is very attentive, provides excellent services, while providing excellent advice on long term dental health. The front office (David) is a champ too. He consistently checks in on scheduled visits and is very accommodating when I need to reschedule. read more

Afsani a Persian old, mean lady who just made my day a DISASTER. This lady has no customer service skill... Better for her to retire and stay at home I've had an appointment today at 11am for cleaning. I Called yesterday around 7pm To cancel my appointment due to some other important things came up on my plan. I left a voicemail letting them Know that I need to reschedule my appoint to another day. Today, this Persian lady at the desk calls me yelling at me that I can't cancel my appointment she s gonna charge me $100 for cancelation fees. She was extremely mean and aggressive!!! Before she hung up the phone on me.. I've said I will stop by at 11am to check in so I don't get charged and I ve also told her that this will be my LAST VISIT. She replied that if I don't show up at 11:00am exactly there will be a bill of $100 charged to me and if this is my last visit.... Then they don't need me there either and hung up the phone on me. So, I made it there at 11am She was acting like nothing happened. And then she was like you can go but she s gonna charge my insurance for the cleaning that I never had. This stupid lady messed up my plans. Because of her stupidity I was running late for an important appointment. About DR gidey she was always pretty nice and patient with me but I don't think that she does a good job. I've had the fillings once. And i had to come back 3 times for the same to fix because she didn't do it right!!! Until I gave up. Also they were very pushy to change my crown that I never had a problem with. Dr gidey and afsani kept pushing me to change my crown to prettier crown for $400. Although I don't have any problem, complain or interest to change it but, it seems like they just wanted to charge me and my insurance as much as they can This place is a disaster. While Dr. Gidey is fairly nice, the receptionist (I don't know her name) is absolutely terrible. She's sarcastic, hangs up on patients, shows no sympathy for unfortunate situations, and speaks to you like a five year old, like you should know absolutely everything about the ins and outs of dental insurance. It's enough to ruin an entire visit. And don't even think about trying to change your appointment; she'll scold you vociferously and then charge you 100s of dollars for every half hour of your appointment. I moved to DC from New York a couple of years ago and have tried a number of dentists with mixed results. Given my age (53) and the fact that I have lived in several locations/countries, I feel qualified enough to post an endorsement -- plus few enjoy going to the dentist so I think folks need to keep this in mind when looking at reviews and or posting. With this in mind, I am so full of praise for Dr Gidey, following my visit yesterday, that I felt obligated to post a review, my first for any dentist. I was in for my 6th month clean and exam and noted (as I always do) that I had sensitivity around my gums which can make the cleaning experience painful. The difference between this visit and other dentists is that I didn't jump once and felt absolutely no pain throughout. The care that Dr Gidey took to clean the teeth while avoiding my gums and the pocketing was exemplary and I left the office feeling sparkly clean. She also bonded a chipped tooth and the match is perfect. The office could use an update on the equipment and some of the comforts compared to some of the more fancy/bigger practices, hence the 4 star posting, but in the end you are not going to a hotel you are going to a dentist and I place more value on the workmanship and bedside manner. Dr. Gidey's office tried to rip off my insurance company. When I confronted them, they tried to cover their tracks and offered me a "discount." The bill they sent me had incorrect dates and charges. They tried to charge me over 1400 for a cleaning and x-rays. When I called the office again and asked about the incorrect charges, I was very polite and tried to explain that I just looking for some clarity about the bill I received. The woman at the desk who has been handling my bill got extremely defensive and and hung up the phone. She mumbled something about me putting her job in jeopardy and told me I was ungrateful. She refused to explain the dates and charges on my bill. She yelled 'I won't talk to you anymore' and hung up the phone. Also, during this same visit (and before the billing incident) they had told me I needed a root canal. They quoted me 900 as my limited insurance doesn't cover this kind of procedure. When I called to schedule it, they quoted me 2500. I asked them why they had said 900 last time and she said "Oh I said 900? Then it's 900." I was really turned off at this point and called back to cancel my appt. I saw another dentist shortly after who told me I never even needed a root canal. I'm not sure what is going on at this office but they were extremely sketchy and unprofessional. How hard up could you be that you're willing to try to take advantage of and perform unnecessary surgery on a 20-something college student with limited insurance? read more

I would like to say my visit to Dr. Gidey was good, I simply can't. All comes to a sad rip off intent to my insurance company. I was visiting the office for an extremely simple procedure and the doctor ended up doing procedures she never explained, nor asked and unnecessary. Even though she did not provide any guidance on whatever she was going to do , the bill reflected a super expensive new client evaluation... The total bill was ridiculously high once all the things claimed were put together, i also had panoramic X rays...and they charged a fortune. I wouldn't complain too much bout her, she was nice but a lack of ethics from the whole office is a great reason for me to never go back again or actually recommend anyone to go there. read more

Like most people, I hate going to the dentist...but I don't hate going here! It's always a quick, painless experience whether it's a teeth cleaning or a filling. The staff and Dr. Gidey are all really friendly and welcoming. I see a lot of people on here complain about the receptionist, but since I've started coming here, there's been a turnover of front desk staff. The new ladies are really helpful. read more

Love Dr Gidey! Dr Gidey and her staff are really nice and professional. Both my father and I see her regularly. With my father being elderly and his english not being too good, its a challenge sometimes to get him to trust someone. Dr. Gidey has so much patience when it comes to treating my dad. She may not speak spanish but my dad seems to be quite comfortable with her enough to go see her alone if I can not make it to his appts with him. About a year ago I moved away to Dallas,TX but I still fly back to see Dr. Gidey for my appt's. I like her honesty, and they way she does her work. Never any pain . She is def. Just an update: We found another dentist, and I called after hours to leave a message asking for a call back. Someone picked up the phone, so I had the following conversation: Me (in a sweet, sing-songy voice because I recall how rude the lady was): "Hi, we're former patients of Dr. Gidey's. We just moved, and I was wondering whether I could get a copy of our records..." Receptionist (brusquely): "You call back tomorrow morning. I am already done. The computer is off. I had to come back to answer your call." Me (still determined to be sweet): "Sorry, I was just calling to leave a message." Receptionist (getting more agitated): "You should have called in the morning." Me (confused, but still apologetic): "Sorry, I really meant to leave a message. I didn't mean to disturb you." Receptionist: sputtering sounds Me: "I would have appreciated a more polite response." Receptionist: "This is unacceptable." Hung up. In other words, fully consistent with the abysmal treatment we received from Dr. Gidey's practice and with the other reviews on Yelp. Not sure why anyone would continue going to this practice when there are so many wonderful healthcare practitioners out there. read more

When I asked if she can make a permanent retainer, she said yes but turned out consistent failure- she failed three times (it came off within a day whenever I bite food). I then gave up on a retainer, and found out $4,000 was claimed against my insurance! Orthodontist coverage was limited to only once in life time and it maxed out my coverage... I never came back to this dentist. Wish I did not believe in her capability. read more

I love Dr. Gidey! Having been to other dentists in town who tried to take advantage by saying I had a mouth full of cavities, Dr. Gidey was honest and said that wasn't the case (thankfully!) and took the time to explain things. I am so glad I got a second opinion and that she's not giving me unnecessary (expensive) treatments! I used the money I saved to get whitening. and Maria the receptionist is so nice and helpful too! Super friendly and responsive. I believe she is pretty new so some of the older reviews about the bad receptionist are not relevant anymore. this is great team of professional. the staff are fanstastic and provide me with all the neccessary information. They also very responsive to questions or concerns and make it easy to get an appointment. First of all, the receptionist, Sunny, is a very knowledgeable and helpful person, she knows how the insurance works--which will cover and which ones dont. She will explain everything to you in advance to help you with your decision making. For my case, my insurance didn't cover much for the orthodonist portion. While Sunnny was so nice that she offered me a courtesy discount, in which lessen my financial pressure. Not mention about Dr. Gidey, she is extremely knowledgable and nice, who truly cares about her patients. Therefore, i would strongly recommend visiting Dr. Gidey's office. You will sure have a pleasant and comfortable experience. read more

I have for long felt uncomfortable, if not afraid of dental procedures. Not anymore. Dr. Gidey changed it all for me and made me feel like home. I remember, during my first appointment, how blown away I was by the beautiful bright white smile both Dr. Gidey and her receptionist had. I never expected to write a review for a dentist and dental office, but I've never had this good of an experience before. First, Dr. Gidy is amazing. She is of course, a wonderful dentist, but with a chair side manner you don't see very often. She is not only professional, reassuring and calm but also did not make me feel embarrassed or bad for the condition of my teeth which hadn't been cleaned in some time. Sonny, one of her office staff is amazing - she used every power of persuasion and kindness to get me to my appointment and all the other staff I met, were equally professional and courteous. I also want to say without the office being willing to work with me financially, the visit never would have taken place. A cleaning and 4 fillings later, I'm the happiest gal around. There is nothing like having a clean mouth and a bright smile. Lastly, I'm the biggest wimp when it comes to those shots and I can honestly say I felt nothing more than a teeny pinch. Amazing. Worst service ever. The receptionist is rude and abusive, depending on the type of insurance you carry. The office disregarded several requests to release me from their records so I could see the specialist Dr. Gidey recommended, in addition they ignored email requests for a referral resulting in irreparable damage to the tooth in question. read more
