I didn't have any idea where to go to take photos- so Dog Proof set up an absolute perfect array of places to take her. We went to wide open fields, beautiful lakes, graffiti walls, bridges- it was quiet the adventure. Ruth had a blast! Unlike most photo studios, Dog Proof let Ruth be a dog. They captured her jumping for her tennis ball, digging in the sand, exploring the woods. Every single photo showcased Ruth having the time of her life, enjoying being a dog. Not to mention, Ang is not afraid to get muddy! She got in the dirt to take half of our photos- getting the best of Ruth's angles! It was incredible to see her work!! When the photos came back, we were stunned. These photos will last a lifetime, moments that I could never have captured on my own, that are hanging on our walls forever. From the beginning, she asked thoughtful questions to understand what we were hoping for, gave suggestions on potential locations, and explained how everything would work while checking in along the way to make sure how we'd work together worked for us. On the morning of the shoot (we picked a sunrise option down by the water in the city) she took a wide variety of shots and she is amazing with dogs- she was patient with our new puppy, knew how to capture his attention, and we walked around to different spots that allowed for greater variety of backdrops and lighting as the sun came up. Once the photos were ready she did a fantastic job walking us through the options and came prepared with real materials (frames, photo album covers, samples) that really helped us envision what the final products might look like. When our selections were ready, she brought them beautifully packaged- it was like opening a series of gifts! She seemed to understand intrinsically what our personalities were and how we preferred to be photographed (either acting goofy...or not knowing we were being photographed.) Her pictures were beautiful: elegant but also very unique and heartfelt. In addition, all our friends loved her so everyone was happy to have their pictures taken. She blends so easily into a crowd that she seems like a friend or a family member and instantly puts everyone at ease. We got some amazing shots: dancing, portraits, families and just fabulous strutting around. It was a year ago and people still ask to see my pictures. And all of this planned with zero stress over a very nice cup of tea. Just show up and Kim will handle the rest. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I have never had a professional photo shoot done - short of the dorky Sears portraits your parents…read moremade you do as a kid. (I eloped when I got married - so no professional photog there either). My company recently hired Kim to do a series of headshots for each employee and a group shot. We're a playful agency - and the majority of us identify as nerds so posing as "models" is not our natural state of being. However, Kim was great at coaxing out our inner Zoolanders. She really took the time to get to know us and get a feel for our company culture. We spent the day prior to the shoot walking around the area for a couple of hours and determining ideal locations. The following morning she was ready to rock. We did a series of indoor and outdoor shots. Kim has a very comforting and relaxing nature about her. She was able to instantly put me - and my other colleagues - at ease with her warm, positive and genuine personality. As she took photos, she'd let you see the results after a few frames so you could specify what you liked or didn't like about a particular image. If someone didn't want to seem rude or vain and expressed satisfaction, even if they weren't satisfied, Kim would pick up on it immediately. She'd gently offer to take more pics until those that were more self-critical felt comfortable with the product. She spent the entire day photographing our team and not once did she seem tired or annoyed. She seemed sincerely thrilled to be a part of the moment with us. We also got proofs back in rapid time! For all my initial nervousness and hesitation, this was a really fun and positive experience to be a part of. I don't think that would have been possible without Kim behind the lens though. If I ever need professional shots in the future - I know who I'll be going back to :)

Heather Nicole met and exceeded all the expectations we had for a photographer on our wedding day. Let's start with the worry of whether or not we were going to click with our photographer. Especially for a wedding, your photographer and you as a couple have to click. They have to listen to what you want, write it down/remember, keep in touch throughout the planning process, get what your vision is, be able to make suggestions that go with that vision and make you feel like they'll get all the photos you want so that on your wedding day you don't even have to think about it. Heather Nicole definitely did that for us. After the initial email with her when we hadn't even officially hired her yet I could tell getting along with her and trusting her to do what we wanted would be a breeze. Heather is so sweet and personable and honest, I don't see how anyone could not get along with her. Once you work with her, you feel like you've known her forever and it's like working with an old friend. During all the emails and phone correspondence that we had you could tell that, even though she does this every day, she is genuinely happy for each couple individually and connects with each couple differently. She never made me feel like we were just another client. I remember one phone call in particular how excited she was for the surprises I had planned for my husband and wanted her to get good photos of. Again, it felt like I was talking to a friend about it. My husband and I were thrilled with all of our pictures, both our engagement and wedding photos. They were all so easy as Heather tells you exactly what to do, where to stand, etc etc and the photos come out nothing short of perfect. She is good at giving you a timeline of when they'll be ready and sticking to it. She's also great at giving you so many options for viewing, purchasing and showing off all your photos. But then we met up with Catherine at a beach in my home state of Maine and time flew - she made us both so comfortable and our relationship was captured so well in her photos.
