I'm very happy with my hair cut and will definitely be coming back. I can't begin to explain how scary a hair cut can be for someone with curly hair. Maybe think about putting a ventilator in the salon.

I love my haircuts by Shae…read more I see quite a few women getting color here, but I come just for a haircut. I appreciate that Shae works on Saturdays so I don't have to skip out on work to come. The women who work the front desk are always super friendly and greet you by name when you walk in. Shae is always on time and I'm in and out in 45 minutes, which I appreciate. Every eight weeks I go in to trim and inch off my layers, touch up my side swept bangs and frame my face. Shae delivers every time. I've gone to other people that can take over an hour to do my hair so I really like how quickly she works. The salon is clean and there's always parking up front. I have no complaints and will happily continue to come here.

I am extremely disappointed and honestly heartbroken by my experience with Shear Art North. I had…read morebeen a client since April 2025 and genuinely enjoyed this salon, which makes it especially upsetting to say that I will no longer be returning--not by choice. I booked my an appointment for October on August 22nd without any issue. Then, without any prior warning or conversation, I received an email stating that I was no longer welcome at the salon due to "multiple instances of missed appointments, last-minute cancellations, and appointment changes." I was shocked. I have never missed an appointment, and according to my records and screenshots, I had only one last-minute cancellation with my stylist, Julia, in March. I mistakenly believed I had cancelled the appointment when I had not, immediately apologized, and was assured at the time that everything was okay. The remaining issues appear to involve miscommunication and scheduling problems. In December, there was a misunderstanding surrounding a service I had booked. Julia was extremely apologetic, offered me a complimentary haircut to make up for the situation, and assured me she would help find the soonest availability. At no point was I made aware that this was considered a serious issue or that there would be consequences for me as a client. Then, in June, I had a color appointment that had been booked two months in advance for my birthday. I reached out to Julia multiple times beforehand with an important question about changing my color service and received no response. I even contacted Syd and asked that Julia be informed. After still receiving no response, I called the salon on the day of my appointment and was told that the service I wanted could not be done because Julia had another client afterward. This was frustrating, especially because I had previously been told that Julia had cleared her schedule for me. Despite this, I still came in for my haircut. Everything between Julia and me was completely pleasant. We spoke normally, and she even asked if I wanted to book another appointment. I said I would call. There was absolutely no indication that there was a problem or that I was apparently accumulating "instances" that could result in being banned. That is why receiving this email months later, with no warning and no opportunity to discuss any concerns, feels incredibly unfair. I also found it extremely unprofessional and hurtful to discover that both Julia and Syd had blocked me on social media. I had rarely even seen Syd for appointments, and the appointments I did have with them went smoothly. I have screenshots documenting these interactions. From my perspective, several of the situations now being attributed to me were directly related to communication and scheduling issues on the salon's end. I was also frequently left waiting while Julia finished with other clients, and there were occasions during my own appointments where I was asked to wait while she worked with someone else. I was understanding about this, but it is difficult to be held accountable for scheduling concerns when I was also experiencing them as a client. What makes this even more disappointing is that I have since become aware of other clients describing similar situations where they were banned or penalized over issues that appear to have stemmed from their stylist's mistakes or poor communication. If this is a recurring issue, I sincerely hope the salon looks into how these situations are being handled. Julia is a talented stylist, and I genuinely enjoyed the work she did for me. However, good work does not excuse poor communication or time management, and clients should not be left to deal with the consequences of those issues without warning. I am not upset simply because I can no longer make an appointment here. I am upset because after being a loyal client for over a year, I was abruptly told I was no longer welcome without ever being given the opportunity to correct, clarify, or even discuss the alleged problems. I would have appreciated a conversation and basic transparency rather than being blindsided by an email. I truly loved this salon and recommended it to others, which makes writing this review particularly disappointing. I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously and works toward better communication, clearer policies, and greater accountability when issues arise. Clients deserve to know when there is a problem before they are suddenly shown the door.

Let me start off by saying I have been here before with a stylist named Madison she was wonderful…read more I visited on Tuesday march 12 with a cut and color planned with a different stylist Gabby, when I showed what I wanted she got super excited and said she manifested this. I wanted calico hair. Everyone that worked there throughout the process was super nice and excited hyping me up as well. However my hair when bleached turned a little red which was fine because I wanted red over it. She started to doubt the process I believe because I had to be the one to tell her to tone it and even if it didn't come out bright blonde it wouldn't be brassy, which is what I wanted no brass. We discussed I could eventually get them blonder if I wanted to but for that day it's the best they could do which I understand I've had my hair done plenty of time. Now I have already had been there for 5 hours, she starts to color and I ask her about the top half of my hair because at the beginning of the service she said she was gonna do it darker there. She never did anything to the top of my hair and finally at around 9:51 she started to blow dry it to be texturized like I asked for. She started to curl it which I never asked for so I asked her to stop and just cut it, she claimed she couldn't cut wet hair which again I have had my hair done many times a lot of which they cut my hair wet. At this point I had been there for 7 hours with nothing but a Chex mix bag to eat, and I was really unhappy with the way everything was going so I told her I'm done. I paid my bill literally crying and left. The lady at the front desk said she will leave a note and have the manager call me. I called this morning and apparently there was no note left...weird. I ending up getting connected and spoke to a share owner this morning and was offered a free service of glossing it back to brown... how does that help when I wanted calico hair and the salon had already bleached my under parts why would I go back to brown. There are many other weird details that had happened. Honestly overall the people here are nice but my hair looks terrible and i paid for a cut color and foil and none of it is how I asked for it to be. I will not be returning and I think other people should be able to get a honest opinion before deciding to go there.
