Hired a few months ago, didn't go too well. Their movers broke a mirror and left it in the garage of the old house without letting us know. Were they hoping we'd never notice? They also broke a clay pot and scratched 4 pieces of furniture. Overall, they didn't seem to take great care at carefully handling fragile items. When they came to the new house, despite every box having a label of where to place it and despite my wife directing them multiple times, more than half of things were misplaced. It took me a day to reshuffle/move things around, I shouldn't be wasting my time on this when I'm paying a not-so-low of a price for them to do this very thing. read more

Despite multiple above board conversations and interactions beforehand, on the day of my scheduled move (confirmed via plenty of documentation and conversations), no movers showed up. Due to their poor time management, they requested an hour before to reschedule my morning move to the afternoon with a 3HOUR window. Then, I ordered 3 movers, they showed up with 2. One can't drive the truck well and took forever to park. Then, I paid for 2 tv boxes and they wrapped my tv in a blanket. The efficiency with time is lacking. It's been two hours and they are just now moving my sectional. Mind you, I stepped away for 30 mins. The first hour they were in the truck a lot. The truck is still empty. First time I used them, they were good and cheap. Second time still cheap, but banged some furniture up. This third time will be my last as they broke and banged up multiple pieces of furniture. My bedroom set was banged up against the walls creating dents in the wall and scuff marks against them, plus they put their dirty hands on my cream colored walls, leaving hand prints. I have 3 pieces of furniture with wheels, 1 had the wheels broken off, 1 had the wheels bent, and 1 had the wheels break through the base and are now useless. I don't think a pair of movers could be any more careless than the two I received were. The pictures added are just a few of the incidents reported. I guess you can either have movers who take care of your items or movers who are reasonably priced, but not both. read more

When they finally showed up and when asked to move the truck, the employee was disrespectful and threatening while acting in a threatening manner and threatened to fight me for no reason. Moving wise.. Daniel and Lynn were a godsend. Due to a lingering cold I was not fully packed. Lynn got to it and started moving what was ready. Daniel must've been the tetris champ growing up. He got to packing what was ready to the packed and getting it gone. They are nice, fast, hard working, and cool to talk to. Ironically, we were talking about moving horror stories. Such as last minute moves, hoarders and bug infestations. And.... When they left I discovered Palmetto bugs in my unit. I suspect they were on the truck. I am now dealing with an infestation at my new home in the garage where we stored my stuff. Luckily, I rent and they sent an exterminator immediately. Avoid by all means. They ripped our couch and gouged our dining table and bedroom furniture due to broken glass in the truck. I purchased full value insurance for $300 and they are making it next to impossible to get claim rectified. Not returning Insurance adjusters calls. They also kept a box of ours for almost 2 weeks. After numerous calls Daniel tells me he will cancel his vacation and deliver our box of pictures ? The kids that worked for us didn't come prepared with dolly's. We have 70+ boxes moving from a 3rd floor. I asked for 3 people to assist with our move but only two came and two were on our contract. So I guess that was my fault for not reading the contract. One of them called and said they couldn't find us. They were only given our city, state and zip???? Seriously! They only had one dolly to use so the other person had to carry down boxes. The kids said they told their boss that they needed another dolly but were told no. After taking 3.5 hours to move our 1 bedroom into the truck (we sold our second bedroom, living room and we never had a dining room furniture or barstools). This was 3.5hrs out of the 4.5 that was projected. We called the office and told them that we needed another dolly delivered because they were taking way too long. Their boss said it was their job to check to ensure they had two dolly's before leaving. Sooo one of them lies to me??? I told their office that it was wrong to have them working that hard and they should have had two dolly's and we would go rent one for them as there is a Home Depot .25mil from our new apartment. Their office said they would reimburse us for the rental. The kids cursed the whole time. I curse too but not every other word. Specially when you're on the job. It was a bit much.!? They broke a several bottles of our Scotch. After being told not to Carry the boxes like they were. Scratched up our furniture. Just completely man-handled our stuff. I moved with this company twice the first time was great. The second time was HELL. First off my time was from 8-9 and they show up at 9:19 walking slow and looking tired. One guy was on the phone the most of the time which left the other guy moving the furniture by hisself. The same guy left for around 30 minutes during the move the first time and then left again a hour later all together. During both times he left it left the other guy moving my stuff alone which slowed my move down. I had to help the other guy set up my stuff that I paid two guys to do. THEY RUINED MY DRESSER and I gave been in contact with the lady in the office all I get is I'm going to tell my supervisor and that's it. If you don't want lazy workers that will leAve and your furniture damaged don't go here. read more

Had scheduled this company way ahead of my July 11th move. They were supposed to be there by 8. One of the workers didn't show up so it delayed our start time till 10am. This was a move to Tallahassee. So an almost 4 hour drive was ahead of us. The men were nice, but two pieces of furniture were ruined. Completely broke an office table and my kitchen table was severely scratched. The company offered limited compensation as I didn't sign up for the accidental insurance (def will next time). They sent a check for 100.00. The first check was lost and it has been 2 months now. The new check was sent and they offered an extra 50.00 for the inconvenience. The new check arrived, without the additional 50.00 credit. Now no response. Just avoid this company. And def purchase the extra insurance. read more

I will preface this review with the information that I have moved 12 times over 5 states in the last 20 years. I know what a successful move with a quality moving company looks like. This is the worst moving experience I have ever had. We chose this company in part, because of the decent ratings they had on various websites. I cannot provide the same kind of rating. The following list details the issues that we experienced this past Saturday. · One of the three men on the moving crew showed up high on drugs. We know this because my husband asked him about his erratic behavior, and he admitted to my husband that he was high. We were not impressed that he was moving our belongings and in proximity to our young daughter while under the influence of an illegal drug. · The estimator on the phone, the estimator that came out in person, and the moving crew assured us that a 26-foot truck would be enough. We questioned this each time and was told not to worry. Well, even though we moved several pickup truck loads of items ourselves before moving day, not all our things fit, we had three more truck loads to take on our own after the moving truck came. The solution to the issue from the company was that we move it ourselves and not make any effort themselves to fix the mistake they made. · Part of the agreement was that the moving crew would take apart furniture and put it back together at the new house. They did not have tools with them to do this when they arrived. We had to dig out our own tools for them to use. They were not prepared at all for the expectations. · The agreement indicated that mattresses would be put in plastic bags for protection while being moved. This did not happen. · The crew, when unloading the truck, were carrying single boxes and light pieces instead of using a hand truck to move several boxes or items at a time. It felt like they were purposefully taking longer to get paid more. · The 30 minutes it took for the moving crew to communicate with their supervisor and decide they were not going to fix the issue was charged to us. We should not have had to pay for the time it took them to decide they weren't going to fix their mistake. · They broke the leg on my upright piano because they did not know how to move it. They tried to carry it instead of using a dolly, as they should have. When they broke the leg, they also cracked a tile on our front porch quite badly which will need to be replaced. · There were several items that we were having dropped off at a storage unit. We had to tell them 4-5 times which items and when they got to the storage unit, they had not organized the packing of the truck to be able to quickly remove those items, they had to partially unpack the truck to get the items off for the storage unit. Not everything was removed as it was too far back and ended up having to go to our new house to wait for us to take it to storage ourselves. · We were moving about an hour away from our old house. My husband left a few minutes after the moving truck and that is how long it took him to get to the new house. The moving truck took over two hours. While they were probably going more slowly, this is unreasonable. When we asked if they stopped somewhere on the way, they initially said no. Then, later, one of them told us that they had stopped off for a break on their way to our house. We were charged for this time they took a break and were not impressed at the initial lie. It felt like they were trying to inflate their time to increase their pay. · My daughter's desk never made it to the new house. We looked everywhere, not at the new house, not at the old house, not accidentally put in storage. No idea what happened to it. · The two younger members of the moving crew expected us to purchase them drinks and lunch as well as asking my husband for a cigarette multiple times. We were happy to provide water, but other drinks and food should have been their own responsibility. It wasn't that they even just hinted around about these things, it was that they flat out asked for it. We probably spent an additional $40 on them for these items. · Once we had paid, while they were still in the house, one of the crew members started asking the driver if we had paid in cash and how much we had tipped as he wanted his money. While this is not necessarily damaging to our moving process, it was very unprofessional. · I did speak to the supervisor about my issues. He did listen to my concerns and seemed to be concerned about our challenges. He did, though, spend a few minutes lecturing me on the fact that they were only willing to help customers who behaved a certain way, and that they would not help customers, no matter what issues occurred, if the customer expressed frustration beyond what the supervisor felt was appropriate. · The supervisor did advise that he was unable to do anything to compensate us for the issues we experienced but would have the owner call us the day after the move. Not only that but he was incredibly careful as well as personable. He knew how to move things to make it easier and quicker. I would definitely use power moves again, and ask for Daniel! read more

I hired this company for a local move. I expressly described all the items that needed to be moved and expressed my concern that the movers be equipped to handle large, bulky expensive furniture. As such, Elite Power Moves sent Daniel to my home to survey the job and I was given an estimate to move my home including an upright piano and appliances. The estimate was for 8.25 hours and was supposed to cost between $1100-$1200. On the day of the move, 3 guys came and immediately started complaining about the size of the furniture and how they couldn't do the job. They discussed their concerns with Daniel for the first hour of the move! Daniel convinced them to start working and they did. They were clearly not equipped to handle my move. Long story short, they DID NOT COMPLETE MY MOVE THE FIRST DAY AND REQUIRED A SECOND DAY. The first day, the charge was $1300! I was floored. First, it was an incomplete job plus they still had more to finish. Daniel discounted the bill to $1000 and estimated that it would take 3 to 4 hours more to finish the job the following day. I told him, my budget was no more than $1500 for this job and he assured me that they could finish it for less than that because they were bringing 4 men and I only had to pay for 3 and that he would be the 4th man on the job. On the following day, Daniel called and said it would only be 3 of them AND THAT THEY COULD NOT MOVE THE PIANO THAT WAS A PART OF THE MOVE! They started at 2 and finished after 10:00pm. At that point, he told me the additional bill was appx $1300! I said no way was I going to pay double the estimated cost. I asked him to call his manager and he stated it was too late. He continued to text someone and told me it was there policy to collect payment. I said no, I will speak with your boss tomorrow morning or this evening but I emphatically refused to pay double for the move. Additionally, when I went outside to see the other 2 movers off, I noticed the glass in my front door was completely SHATTERED on my BRAND NEW HOUSE. They tried to blame it on my daughter and her friends, which was absurd. At this point, I prepare to leave and tell Daniel to ask his boss to call me in the morning to work out the bill. A short time later, I receive an email notification of a charge on my credit card. They CHARGED MY CARD AFTER I EMPHATICALLY REFUSED TO PAY WHAT AMOUNTED TO DOUBLE THE ESTIMATE FOR THE MOVE. I couldn't believe they did that. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE CALM, NICE EXTERIOR. NOT ONLY DID THEY CHARGE MY CARD DOUBLE THE AMOUNT THEY ESTIMATED AFTER DANIEL SURVEYED THE JOB, BUT THEY DIDN'T COMPLETE THE JOB. THEY DID NOT MOVE THE APPLIANCES NOR THE PIANO WHICH WERE SUPPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE MOVE, BUT THEN TO HAVE THE AUDACITY TO CHARGE MY CARD WITHOUT MY PERMISSION WHEN THEY DID NOT EVEN FINISH THE JOB AFTER TAKING 2 DAYS! BEWARE OF THEIR UNSCRUPULOUS TACTICS. As a customer, I should not bear the brunt of their inability to schedule the appropriate workers for a job. Even the other 2 movers from day 2 stated that Elite Power Movers should not have sent the 3 people they sent to do my move the day prior. I recently used Elite Power Movers for a move in Tampa and everything went better than anticipated. I had three guys move a two bedroom apartment and they were very professional, even though one of them it was his first day. About half way through the pack up a fourth showed up, Daniel, the supervisor who went over and above with everything. Anything that needed to wrapped up was done with special care. From my initial search for a moving company, Chyna, the woman who reached out to me within minutes of my search, on a weekend, was totally awesome!! I writing a review on Elite Power Moves company stole 155.00 off my debit card without my permission to do so. My mother Maxine setup an move with This company to move boxes and she was told there would be 50.00 deposit and amount of move to move boxes would be 325.00 , my mother called Ciara Bailey | Sales Representative and she advised mother of the above , when mother got the estimate it stated 425.00 in which that was not what my mother agreed to mother cancelled the move within the 24hours of booking and Elite Power Moves debited my card unauthorized on 1/4 when I told Ciara I'm only authorizing 50.00 only and my mother will pay in cash. This company is a fruadlegent and did take 155.00 out my account without my authorization to do so. I have contacted the fraud department at bank and is in the process of contacting the attorney general office to file a complaint ,and will sue them damages. next stop police report for theft. read more
