Not like leaving a child at kindergarten, but more like she knew she was gonna get hurt. When I'd pick her up she acted like she was making a jailbreak. She probably would have drug me out of the place if she could. That is not a joke - she would have. Last time after being home awhile, I discovered dried blood in the fur of her ears. She'd been more and more fearful with every grooming drop-off and suddenly I had evidence of why. That was what prompted me to look for another spot and the good reviews convinced me to give Groomingtails a try and we are very pleased with their treatment of our pup and their work. Here's something amazing I have to add: I don't know why but ever since her grooming, when it is rainy and I bring the pup in and I give her a quick dry with a bath towel SHE SMELLS FRESH WITH THE SCENT SHE HAD FROM LAST GROOMING! I am floored. She is about to have her next grooming and that still works weeks after her last grooming. THAT, is lasting results! And her teeth were pure-white when they were done! Now she wants to drink her coffee through a straw,... oh, wait, that's my wife that does that! Anyway, yeah, it cost more but she's treated gently and the job is done well and I don't feel like I am handing her over to be tortured! I just hope their prices don't go up anytime soon! Their mobile service always arrives on time and is incredibly convenient. I avoid taking my drooly bulldog anywhere in my car if I can help it. Having my groomer come to me is SO helpful. Danielle takes Venmo, which is also super convenient! My girls always come out looking and smelling great, with a cute bandana, plus they always get the cutest little goodie bag AND I get a super adorable photo of them up against a different, seasonal backdrop each and every time. I cannot stress enough how much of a dog whisperer Danielle is! If you have a dog that hates being bathed or is scare of strangers, they will be instantly at ease with Danielle. One of my dogs is the biggest scaredy cat and she is completely calm with Danielle and (shockingly to me) does not need to be restrained while having her nails trimmed. Everyone has been friendly and reasonable and it is obvious that they love dogs. My dogs love it here too; as soon as I get near the building they get excited and the vocal one can't stop barking when she gets out of the truck to go inside, lol. The facilities are great for socializing, heat control, and boarding. I can board them both in a single "cottage" for a discounted rate, although I must warn you that it is not cheap. However it seems to be competitive for the quality; you get what you pay for. Their time policy is very reasonable as well. You can drop them off BEFORE 2:00 PM for boarding that night at no extra charge and they will arrange for Sunday pickup. They require a "meet and greet" introduction to see how your dog does in a social setting; a free 4-hour boarding. They also require strict immunizations and spaying/neutering with proof but they cannot control owners who bring in dogs who may be sick so there is a risk in that regard. But the facilities are all artificial so any bodily fluids/waste, and potential infectious agents may be treated, unlike facilities with earthen ground. If for instance giardia, a common but troublesome parasite gets into the earth it is very difficult to remove which is a huge issue in kennels. I am trying them out for grooming but they are short-handed right now and I am still working with the groomer to get the look I want.

When I walked in the door for my scheduled Meet & Greet there were 3 ladies sitting at the front and not one said hello. I worked in customer service long enough to know that greeting customers when they walk in the door is the LEAST you can do to seem inviting. None of them seemed excited to meet my dog either and for a dog daycare I would expect they would at least fake that. Got a weird vibe from the get go but took the tour and then went to fill out paperwork while they took my dog back to the outdoor area where I could see him through the glass. He immediately was trying to escape back through the gate - understandable because he's never been away from me... the part I didn't understand was why it seemed like the two ladies working were just standing around watching him and not trying to distract/ play to get his mind off of the gate. The gate was mostly metal and he could've hurt himself if he kept trying. He ended up failing the meet & greet for this reason which was likely a blessing in disguise. House of Hounds though much further than we live had a much nicer facility, vinyl fencing high enough that the dogs can't escape or hurt themselves, a lot more space for the dogs to run and much friendlier staff, all for about the same price.
