FIVE MAJOR COMPLAINTS: 1- When I called I was quoted $130 for a service call. Yet, the invoice charged $149 for the call. 2 - All I wanted was a new keypad which took 5 minutes to install and program. Price? Another $149! I looked up the keypad on line and it's a $43 product even on the Genie website and you know these companies buy in bulk at a discount price. So, $298 in total!! Spoke to a manager and he was talking in circles trying to explain all the charges and lack of communication. Told me anywhere else I called would be more money. So, I called another company and was told the service call fee is waived when they do a repair. And, with the new keypad and programming the cost was over $100 less than Elite. 3 - The remainder of the 30 minutes they were at my house they were trying to sell me new garage doors or to replace all the hardware, tracks, etc... excluding the garage doors. Even tried to tell me that better garage doors would save on my electric bill. Garage is not air conditioned so that was a head scratcher. 4 - Showed up 3 hours and 20 minutes late without proactive communication. I had a window of 8-12 for a service call and was told I would receive a call 30-40 minutes before they arrived. After waiting till 11:15 and no call/update, I called assuming they should be on their way soon. I was told they would reach out to the service team and find out an update on timing. 45 minutes later I got a call back and was told they would be calling to give me an update. 25 minutes later I got a call and was told 1 1/2 hours. Another 2 1/2 hours later I got a call they were on their way. They showed up at 3:20 PM. 5. They left a ladder in my garage. I texted the number that sent the invoice to let them know. Someone named Beth responded and thanked me. Instead of calling me to let me know they were on their way, they just showed up at my door at 6:45 pm. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They don't care about the quality of their work. My NEW garage door they installed hasn't worked for a MONTH!!! It's been nothing but a hassle dealing with them. First, they pulled their team off my job before it was completed so they could start a new job and it took days for them to come back and finish. Then the garage door opener they installed hasn't worked right since they installed it. I asked to have it replaced but instead they just kept "fixing" it. They came back three times and it still doesn't work! i have been waiting almost two weeks since the last "fix" with no communication from them at all about when my garage door is finally going to work! Then they hung up on me when I called them today upset because my garage door won't close!! read more

Do Not hire this company. Their response time is good, but...They seriously overcharge.

I really want to give them a 5 star rating because the tech, Greyson, was awesome. The reason for the 4 is due to a communication issue. It seems that the situation around setting appointments is a challenge when they're really busy. The local number forwards to cell phones. I was asked to text my name and address to a number after the call which I found strange. What if it were my father calling and he didn't have a cell phone? Anyway, Elite held by their promise that the door would be fixed on the day that they promised. Greyson pulled in my driveway at around 6:45PM without a complaint or an attitude. He was there to get a job done and he did it quickly and efficiently. He pointed out some additional issues to the one that was causing that problem but didn't try to oversell me on getting them done. I will call Elite the next time my door quits. Joshua came to repair our door at the day and time we agreed upon and all worked well after he left. Unfortunately, the door stopped working the next day. We called Joshua immediately and said he would be there the next day first thing. He did not show up first thing so we called him back and he said between 1 and 3. So we made plans to be at home during this time. 3:05 came and no Joshua. We called him again and now the story was that his coworker was running behind and would be there before our dinner reservations-- well, I'm sure you all know that, that did not happen! We only had a small window of time to make the repair before we left the island, So I called my realtor contacts and they were able to get someone to come out in hours and make the simple repairs so we could have some piece of mind and have a door that closed securely. All Joshua had to do was to be honest with us on his timeline instead of promising us time schedules that he knew he could not accept. For that, I feel he is a dishonest vendor who can't meet the scheduled needs of his clients honestly. read more

Shoulda read John P.'s review before attempting to do any business with this outfit. Young Tech was nice, but positive experience with this company ended there. Quoted and told I needed $1,200 worth of work for entire door and spring replacement. I balked as just my bracket and stabilizer was damaged from use. Another company came and had a look the next day, a new bracket and new stabilizer plus labor was all I actually needed. Called Elite and gave them a chance to make it right and credit me back the $50 "service fee" they charged me to give me a dishonest estimate and that conversation ended badly after talking to 2 levels of management. All in all this company that services the Savannah/Bluffton area has little integrity in my oppinion, and I would not recommend dealing with them. read more

Came out for an estimate and was first given $798 for replacement of 2 springs (nothing serious and standard and common type of repair), I explained that I would need to discuss it with my husband first and the workers said to hold on and they would call the owner. Miraculously the price was $600 and then lastly $500. I had called several other companies as well and their estimates were $400 less for the same springs. The men that came out were very pleasant. Owner not friendly at all. Belligerent and hostile when I shared the information of price discrepancy from other 2 highly reputable local garage door repair companies. read more

I wrote the review on January 6th that you will see below. After the review I was called by the owner who stated he was unaware on my problems. He offered to repair the problems with the garage door and reimburse me for the work I had someone else do to get my cars out of the garage. His technician, Jeremy, came out and fully repaired the door. Jeremy's work was excellent. I was reimbursed for the work done previously by the other vendor. The owner made good on his word! read more
