I booked for full legs, a Brazilian, and underarms. She reached out to send me her location and make sure I could find her in the plaza. First, she's prompt with time - something I absolutely value. She was super nice when we met, oriented me to her quick intake form and her space then we got started. It's kind of an odd thing to describe a wax as relaxing because it's not exactly a massage but Angela's approach, her style, her reminders to breathe during the special areas (you know what I mean) -- just made it relaxing! I've been to many, many places over the years in the different cities and states I've lived, and I can honestly say Angela is simply superb at what she does. She's patient, funny, and just really thorough! She checks for any fine leftover hairs and pops them out with a tweezer quickly as needed; I didn't even see some of the hairs she wanted to remove! Comparing that to my last experience at european wax when the waxer went over areas 4/5 times, burned my skin, and STILL left hair behind; that lets me know that it comes down to the skill of the waxer and the tools they use. The original plan was for a Golden Goddess pedi which sounds AMAZING. For $65 it includes all the same things as a regular pedi and then: hot towel combine with a paraffin wax treatment; an collagen eye pad made of pure gold to be placed under ones' eyes and your choice of gel color. A bit steep I've paid a lot less but it's my only monthly treat so I figured why not. Karimah was my nail tech and after speaking with her she's two weeks young in this salon. Now I don't mind having someone green take care of me, mainly because they care more and want to make a good name for themselves so that wasn't the problem. The problem was the lack of guidance from senior staff. Not only was Karimah unable to perform a regular pedi; due to not having the supplies filled. There were two empty bottles one for their scrub and the other was their scent one; which she did search found one at another station. When senior staff and whom I believe to be the owner came across the counter after having their lunch and watching their Obie I did inform them that my tech was unable to perform all the items on even their regular pedi check off list; that I did receive a complimentary collagen eye pad. I want to come back and give this place another chance mainly for Karimah. She's young and from my conversation with her has a lot of untapped talent. I can't wait to see her 3D designs and hopefully a more supportive staff that guides their new tech and makes sure they're meeting their standards and have all the tools to do so. I was intrigued by their website's claim that a fill took 35 minutes to do because my salon in Michigan takes about an hour. It took about 1.5 hours, but I did end up getting a full set. The 2nd time also took 1.5 hours. It was only on my 3rd visit that I was done in 35 minutes because this manicurist, who also happened to be the manager, worked quickly and confidently. I could tell she had much experience. The place is clean and airy. Nobody converses, so except for the soft music, it's pretty quiet. Sometimes the staff will speak to each other in a language other than English. I don't care much for that.
