I have been a weekly patient here at Chiropractic Center of Lakeland for about seven months,…read moreinitially seeking treatment following a fender bender. My injuries were minor and treatment ended up addressing more issues related to life overall. Today was the second day in a row that I came in without an appointment, because after exercising over the weekend, I tweaked something and my lower back was *really* hurting. A normal appointment for me now looks like some relaxing e-stimulation and a brief adjustment. Simple, and very effective, and I'm out the door, feeling great. I dislike drama of any kind. So when today, after three different forms of therapy and four separate adjustments by two different doctors, my back started to spasm and I couldn't stand up, please understand that I do not write any of this in sensationalism. I literally could not walk, was sobbing, humiliated, and in *some* pain. I have never experienced anything like this - and I was in the Military, deployed to Afghanistan, patrolled with Marines, and have given birth to two children. When I tell you that one of the doctors literally carried me across the office to another room, that the massage therapist worked for I don't know how long to relax my muscles (umm, it was my sacral/pelvic area, soooooo, things were real personal for a bit, there), that the physical therapist offered to drive me home, and that everyone in the office asked repeatedly how I doing, I am not exaggerating. I've never experienced pain or inability to function like this before, nor felt so helpless. BUT, receiving such genuine care....I love words, but I can't find enough to express my gratitude and thankfulness to the downright wonderful people here. After their prodigious concern and attention, I was able to walk out of the office on my own, made it safely home, and have been resting. My back is sore but already on the mend. This is only because of the genuine care of everyone in this office. And that was just today. From the beginning, every member of the staff has been professional, personable, genial, and downright kind. My husband works a funky schedule, which often means I have to bring my one-year-old daughter into the office - sometimes my nine-year-old son as well. Everyone in the office is consistently so understanding of my situation, kind to - and even helpful!!! - with my baby. She's my responsibility, of course, but they all genuinely enjoy her and interact with her, and even try to entertain her while I am strapped in for treatment or being adjusted. Beyond the professional care and physical improvement and relief I've experienced during my treatment here, I am so very, very grateful for the pure goodness of the people at Chiropractor Center of Lakeland. Dr. Johnson, thank you for letting me rest on your table even though it meant you had to take other patients back to the "silent room". Kitty, you know me now about as well as my husband does, and I am beyond grateful for the care and time you took to help mend my body. Went to the room and walked into a modern digi patient room! Was impressed with the tech set up they use for evaluations and patient care. Talked to Doc for a few and was very professional!! I Would Sue Them if I Could…read more I went to Peak Chiropractic because I have a condition called scapular dyskinesis. What that means is that at least one of your scapulas is out of alignment. Before I went to them, only my left scapula was out of alignment. Scapular dyskinesis is a relatively rare condition and not very well-understood. The internet will tell you that physical therapy is the way to fix this condition. But I had already seen several physical therapists and none of them could fix my condition. I was desperate to get my life back so I tried something unconventional and went to a chiropractor, not knowing if it would work. Not only did Peak Chiropractic not fix my condition, they actually made it ten times worse than it already was. I would have been better off not going to them at all. I consider going to Peak Chiropractic the single worst decision I've ever made in my entire life. So, one of the chiropractors named Gerardo Martinez gave me an exercise to do at home. I did the exercise exactly the way he told me to and that caused my right scapula to become even more out of alignment than my left scapula when originally there was absolutely nothing wrong with my right scapula. Now thanks to them I have scapular dyskinesis on both sides. I went to them thinking that they might be able to help me but instead they made my life even worse than it already was. Now, because of them, my right side of my body is in so much more pain than my left side ever was and I want to kill myself everyday. When I first talked to them, they should have been honest with me and told me the truth and said that they have no idea how to treat scapular dyskinesis. At least then they wouldn't have made my condition worse. Because of their dishonesty, I now have to spend the rest of my life in pain, if I don't kill myself first. Don't come here. There's nothing a chiropractor can do that a physical therapist can't do.
