Over the phone, he was able to answer all of my queries and gave me a quick run-down of all the different services they provide and an accurate quote for an inspection on the house. He was also able to answer all of my "what-if" questions and ease my nerves by giving me a step-by-step on what to expect. Although my window for inspection was only 7 days, he was also able to squeeze me in for an inspection and got me my report within 3 days! I'm super grateful for that. On the day of the inspection, Abe and Nick let me join in on the process and even encouraged me to take my own notes. Every step of the way was a learning process for me and I gained a ton of new knowledge on structural info, safety, energy saving tips and more on the house. Abe gave me a packet and some goodie bags. The retractable tape measure with sticky notes and pen is really cool. He also put in some candy if you're feeling peckish, some hand sanitizer, flashlight and bandaids--all super useful stuff. Folder includes info packets, and even a final walk through checklist. He'd really thought of everything. Overall, I highly recommend Abe. His inspection gave me valuable insight on the house, and most importantly I gained a peace of mind. Home Advantage Inspections missed a potential fire hazard in the home we purchased…read more We called HAI prior to purchasing our home in Mount Kisco, NY. The results of the inspection produced a few results that we were able to negotiate with the seller. However, HAI saw no issues with the house's boiler chimney. After the purchase of the house, our heating company advised us that the condition of our boiler chimney posed a potential fire hazard. The report HAI provided said there was no issues with the boiler chimney. After the purchase of the home, we had at least three chimney companies inspect the condition of the boiler chimney. Upon a mere visual inspection, all noticed that the boiler chimney could potentially cause a fire in the home. Upon further inspection, they noticed that the chimney would need to be completely replaced in order to make the home safe. They all strongly -- and separately -- suggested that the condition be remedied as soon as possible. The condition of the boiler chimney and the surrounding area was an open and obvious fire hazard that should have been identified in the inspection report provided by HAI. $3,000 later, we were able to remedy the condition without incident. However, had HAI notified us of the condition prior to the purchase of the home, this is something we could have potentially negotiated. We are lucky that we had the boiler company inspect the space, or else the condition of the home may have been much worse. There were other conditions in the home that were missed upon inspection -- but the fact that a safety hazard such as this was missed is extremely disconcerting.

He repeatedly stepped over the air sampling pump…read morewhile the air sample was being conducted as he moved around visually assessing the basement for mold. We learned later that stepping over and around the pump like this can skew the results and create artificially high airborne results. When we learned this and asked him to come back to redo the air sample testing - he denied that he stepped over the pump or that an error was made. Lack of integrity. Protect your pocketbook and go somewhere else. We now need to redo our testing with another company.
