I just moved to Kirkwood last week and had to drop by City Hall in order to setup my utilities and obtain an occupancy permit. Upon arrival, I was immediately pointed in the right direction by a pleasant lady who just happened to see me standing there confused. Between her, the woman who helped me with the occupancy permit, and the woman who helped me setup my utilities, I could not be any happier with their customer service. First rate all around. On top of that, I was in and out of the building with everything I needed within 10-15 minutes and was warmly welcomed to Kirkwood by everyone I spoke with. This experience was so fast, so easy, and I wish all governmental operations functioned in this fashion.

Unreliable services. Unannounced outages for months with no end in sight. Might be an entire year…read moreof outages to replace 2 stretches of pipe that total about a mile. Meanwhile, the roads become less and less drivable as they cut them full of holes and just rope the parts of with cones and caution tape. I'm in the US, in the 21st century, less than a mile from a large lake, about 3 miles from a major river, and I can't get water from their service. Epic failure is an understatement.

There are plenty of tables around. I'm not sure if that's new, only during the pandemic, or will stay. But it's wonderful for picnics and enjoying cooler nights. There are usually a few people around, but it's not packed. Grounds are well maintained. Take a break and visit The Awakening!

Mike was my Drain Tech and he was the absolute best. Not only did he take the time to really listen to my concerns, he was empathetic as he explained to me what needed to be done. Never in my life have I been so happy about having repair work done in my home. I am really looking forward to gaining some peace of mind. Others literally just came out and did what they were asked. If I suggested something or asked what else I could do, I was always greeted with a stale response. I'm a big believer that great service comes from a persons sincerity and how they treat others. Chesterfield Service seriously passed the vibe check. I will definitely be in touch for other things.

Blake was the service technician that arrived at my home this morning to address several plumbing…read moreissues I had, faucet concerns and replacement. He was very polite and respectful while in my home, even wearing protective shoe covers. He arrived at 8:00am as scheduled and spent 2 hours completing a "Home Diagnostic Inspection" which included examining all my hot water heaters and ALL plumbing fixtures throughout my home which I was not expecting. He then presented me with a service plan at $60 per month for a maintenance plan which gave me a discount on future services (10%) and a 50% discount on the service call fee of $119.00. He also gave me a bid on replacement cost for several faucets which I felt was a little bit higher than I was willing to pay. He said I could buy my own parts but the installation charge would be higher. I told him "Thank you but no thank you". He gave me a bid for the removal and installation of the 'Insinkerator' instant hot water dispenser that I had already purchased. The bid was extremely higher than I ever expected! But, the technician was here and I wanted it done, however I only elected to have ONE faucet replaced which made the price go up! Long story short, I was charged $815.36 for the installation which took One Hour and Fifteen minutes (I provided the part). In addition to this, I was charged $119.00 for the service call fee! I paid a total of $934.36 and 2/3 of the time he was here was spent on trying to sell me a service plan for my plumbing, H-Vac system as well as my electrical needs for $60 A MONTH! Then, you get a whopping 10% discount on the service call fee! I calculated that this service call was $12.47 per minute! I contacted the company customer service representative to talk about what I thought was an extremely high charge and all she could offer was that they have to pay for gas, tools and expenses! She also reminded me that I signed and agreed to the bid (she told me this 5 times). I told her I DID agree that that was their bid and I paid it! I did not agree that it was a fair price but I did not want to confront the young technician. I called HER to discuss the issue, to see if she thought that $934.36 for 1 hour and 15 minutes labor was fair. She did! Call this company if you have money to burn but you will get your work done politely.

Worst IT purchase in my 30 year IT history. The shipping companies that were used are incompetent…read moreand can not follow instructions. The non-shock pack versions of any OEM's racks would never make it to delivery without serious damage to the rack enclosure. I spent $800 additional to order the shock-pack version of this rack so that the shippers would not damage the rack and all three delivery attempts were damaged. The original order for this rack was placed on September 9, 2020 and on December 24, 2020, we still have not received a rack without damage. Unacceptable, I would not buy or recommend anything from APC based on the terrible experience I had trying to buy and receive one of their racks -- good luck APC! Chris Wilkinson

It's a treasure to me, filling with lots of gold n jewels....except its books and movies and things along those lines. I've never been to a library with a gift shop! Or a library that lets you check out cds! Or a library with three stories if you include the downstairs. Now imagine that all into three, how amazing. I'd also like to compliment the infastructure inside and outside. Decor is so cozy and amazing, and the outside is furnished with plants, trees...anything you could think of! How fun. The place was very organized as well! Very impressive I dare say. Everything seems perfect. So why am I giving this place a four stars? Service was a little rocky in my opinion, because the librarian checking us out and "helping us" was slacking very much. There was no whimsy, no joy, no shine or polish, nothing. This is why three out of five of the CDS I checked out were still locked, very unprofessional. This library is awesome though! Of course, as they say, a few bad apples don't ruin the whole batch so I want to overall give kudos to this library! I enjoyed my visit, thank you for making my stay feel awesome Kirkwood Public Library!

This is a somewhat nice library, but boy is it old -- and it shows. Very strong musty/mildewy smell…read morewhen you walk in, low ceilings, and overall just a dated look. The staff were friendly and there was a decent selection given the library's small size, but I'd much rather go to the Grant's View Branch in Affton.
