We were treated like VIP! We had our own wing of the restaurant and our goodies were Yelp chopsticks and a small steaming tray for a dumpling - so cute!! Cocktails, appetizers, dim sum, entrees, dessert.. we were STUFFED!! All the food was beautifully plated/ presented and DELICIOUS! I loved getting to sit down and enjoy a meal with fellow Yelpers. Incredible event, thank you Hayley!!! This was my first sit down event with other Yelpers and it was an absolute blast. Wow, and the food was incredible! First of all we lined up for the event and I was in shock how many people were attending. It looked like around 40 people. You really have to look at how much this event cost the restaurant and how much they invested into their local Yelp community. I have to say I am very impressed. The food was excellent! We started with garlic and Japanese cucumber with minced garlic (which was good but would have been great with chili oil) and a radish pastry. Next we had Xiao Long Bao different assortments. I loved the kimchi flavor and the original. The garlic long ago i tasted for 2 days after lol. My all time favorite dish of the event was the kurobuta pork wonton in chili oil, an absolute stunner. For the main dishes we crushed an entire lobster with some noodles and cream sauce. This dish was not loved at the table but I took the opportunity to dive into the lobster and put it out of the shell and enjoy. The cream sauce was overboard but when in Rome. Next we dove into a fried pork chop with fried rice (the best dish of the mains) which was excellent! And lastly a black pepper beef with basil and basically went into a full food coma. You would think that an Elite event at 1:30pm on a weekday there would be a low turnout?! No, not here in OC! Apparently everyone here WFH or have a flexible schedule. So turnout wise, it was quite a few of people. I just noticed some of my friends who Yelped this event I never saw since you guys were probably on the wall side of the table. Any who, this event was T-riffic! I've had Paradise Dynasty many many times. But only at food and drink events. I've seen Jason the manager at Every. Single. Event. What I really enjoyed from them is food is always pipping hot. This event was no exception. It felt like they rolled out the red carpet for us, as if we were Crazy Rich Asians. Speaking of which, we had the Singapore Swing to start off. I love any Gin based cocktails nowadays. This was no exception. I get the hint of pineapple but not enough of the cardamon, that's for sure. We had shot glasses, but some of the people I was with might've had enough for a full glass! But the intermizzo of their Bahama mama version tasted way better. It was sour, sweet and fully balanced. Drinks aside, the food was awesome. There was a little bit of a wait before we got started. I think everyone at our table did not eat prior to coming here but we were all so full afterwards. The garlic cucumbers were a light easy starter. It tasted as good as DTF ever would. Its even neatly stacked. I won't go into too many details of every dish but I do appreciate every single dish that came in and out. It was hot, salted correctly (even the lobster noodle dish that some felt a little bland). I'm a recreational cook, I do like mine food really simple so that pork chop and rice dish that came out last it was my favorite of the day. It's one of those comfort food I gravitate towards. Oh, I loved the Yep chopsticks and steam warmer (enough for one bao!) Such a fitting giveaway for this event. Yes, I have way more than enough shot glasses and sun glasses from my 18 years of Elite events so this was a nice change. Our conversation with fellow Yelpers focuses on work and such and of course Yelp elite events! Sure does felt like when I first got into Yelp and excited about attending these events and meeting new people. Thanks to Hayley and Paradise Dynasty for bringing me back to those memories. Oh, The $25 off voucher on the way out is super useful. I plan to come here next week to use it perhaps along with their happy hour 3:30-5pm offering on weekdays. This was such a great event! Thank you Hayley and Paradise Dynasty for putting this together. I had a great experience. The staff were super nice and helpful. They took the time to give us descriptions and a backstory of each dish. We got to try so many different foods and a couple of different cocktails. The singapore sling was my favorite! The foods were also delicious. I thought the speciality xiao long baos were good overall, but for the specialty flavors, the flavor could have been stronger. Some of them tasted the same to me. The original is still my favorite! Another favorite of mine was the radish pastry. One of the workers said it was his favorite one and I can see why. The pork in the pork fried rice was also very juicy and tender! I really wanted to try to those panda buns at the end but had to head out because the event ended a little later than I expected. Secondly, what a great community of foodies We started off with the Singapore Sling which I didn't try but those around me said it was sweet and really good! There was a pineapple taste to it. We then got the cucumbers which were fresh and crunchy. These are a must! So simple yet so good. The radish pastry surprised me! I'm usually not a fan of pastries in general but this was interesting and I would recommend to my friends. Next, the DIM SUM! The signature XLB always hits. The soup is nice and flavorful. The specialty XLB is a favorite and MUST TRY when coming here. There are just so many unique flavors made with different ingredients like beet, cheese, and truffle! The wontons with the chili oil sauce is scrumptious and juicy. The guava mama was a nice refresher after the dumplings! Here's where everything gets CRAZY! The main dishes were ABSOLUTE FIRE! The black pepper stir fried beef definitely had to be my favorite. It was tender and just YUMZ! The fried rice with pork chop was also delicious. The pork chop was juicy and a bit fatty which I liked. The braised lobster noodle dish was something new that I have never tried! It was interesting. It reminded me of like an Alfredo pasta. Traversing across the parking lot of Bloomingdale mall, I was bated with anticipation as to what would await me. "What is this place, I ask myself?" "What cool yelpers will I meet?" However, all these questions were soon answered as I approached Paradise Dynasty for the elite event. Walking in, I saw a familiar face, Hayley, whom I hadn't seen in 2 years! It was so great that she had such a good memory as I greeted her. Everyone else was a stranger to me, I guess. I soon made friends at the best table, the center table with other fellow yelp elites such as Kevin, Sean, and Melanie. This table was very extraverted which was a blessing... as I love to talk! The ambiance of this place was very upscale. I felt like this was like a fancy dim sum restaurant, reminiscent of the 6 course Vietnamese Wedding reception where they keep bringing trays out. However, these culinary creations were not Vietnamese... they were, a fusion of Taiwanese modern take on cooking. My favorite dish had to be the pork wonton in chili sauce, hands down. It was chewy, scrumptious, yet tender and harmonized beautifully on the palette. A close second would be either the cheese steamed dumpling (which didn't even taste of cheese, but very savory -- with an explosion of soup as you bite into it), and the pepper angus beef. However, it was missing the complex carbohydrates, that is, white rice -- as the angus beef has strong seasoning. My least favorite dish surprisingly was probably the most expensive dish of them all, the lobster with creamy noodles. The lobster tasted overly sweet and the noodles were very soft, drenched in cream -- devoid of al dente in terms of noodle firmness. I really love the Yelp swag which was the Yelp-branded chopsticks. The yelp steamed dim sum contraption makes a good table decoration in the office. We also got insulated gold lunch bags from the restaurant owner himself as well as $25 off $50 voucher. Hayley has done a remarkable job as Orange County Community Manager in finding the best restaurants to advocate both for the business and her yelp elites. Word-of-mouth is such a good business model and as such, I'm already sharing the experiences with friends at home (they all knew I was going here and were anxious to hear my review when I got home). read more

I had an incredible dining experience at the Yelp Elite event at Paradise Dynasty! The service was impeccable, and despite it being the longest event I've attended, the delicious food made it worthwhile. Though the dishes took a bit of time to come out because there were so many of us at this event, but I didn't mind because my tablemates were great and our conversations kept us entertained. The standout dishes for me were the signature Xiao Long Bao and the specialty Xiao Long Bao--they arrived hot and fresh, a significant improvement from my first visit where the soup dumplings were unfortunately served to us cold. I also loved the radish pastry, fried rice with fried pork chop and shots of 2 of their specialty drinks. Everything was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Paradise Dynasty restaurant has a beautiful and upscale ambiance, perfectly fitting for its South Coast Plaza location. The aesthetic is top-notch and added to the overall fantastic experience. Paradise Dynasty has been one of my favorite dim sum spots to go to. We were able to try all the different flavors of Xiao long bao that they had which were all amazing. My favorites were the cheese and the truffle. We were also able to try out the special creamy lobster noodles. There was a really nice kick in the pasta and the lobsters were perfectly cooked. First of all, huge shout out and thank you to Hayley and the staff at Paradise Dynasty for putting on an exceptional event. The concept of sitting down for a multiple course menu filled with exquisite cuisine was a pleasant surprise. The staff was super attentive and brought out drinks and cocktail tasters to get us started. We sat family style and got to hang out with some really cool people. The first appetizer was Japanese cucumber with garlic. The cucumber was nice and fresh and able to cut through the richness of the garlic butter sauce they sitting in. Next a radish pastry was brought out. The pastry itself was so flaky and buttery and melted in your mouth. The radish inside was perfectly tender. Dim sum was up next! Both original Xiao Long Bao and the Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao were served. The original contained kurobuta pork and a delicious broth. Chili oil was the perfect complement to give them some additional flavor and spice. Eight of some of the most delicious dumplings I've ever tasted were placed in front of us in a beautiful colored arrangement. Each one is comprised of a different bold flavor and the concept takes inspiration from French Macarons. Out of the eight specialty flavors, I was able to try four of them, Garlic, BBQ Pulled Pork, Szechuan and Kimchi. The Szechuan and BBQ pulled Pork loved having some chili oil drenched over them. Kimchi was awesome and the Garlic was packed with a huge punch of garlic. Mains were up next: Stir-fried Black Pepper Angus Beef with Basil, Braised Creamy Butter Lobster Noodle in Nanyang Style and Stir-fried Pea Shoot with Minced Garlic. The beef was exceptional and the bell pepper and onion added a nice crunch to each bite. The butter lobster was cooked to perfection, the flavor was incredibly rich but the stir fried pea shoots helped tame the richness very well. Overall, every single dish was exceptional. Perfectly seasoned, balanced in profile and texture and cooked to perfection. I'd love to return and revisit some favorites as well as try some additional menu items. Amazing work team! Then we had some refreshingly crunchy garlic and chili seasoned mini cucumbers. Then the star of the meal for me was the radish pastry. The pastry was so flaky and the radish filling was delicious! Attending the Yelp Elite event at Paradise Dynasty was such a treat! From the moment we walked in, us Yelpers were greeted so graciously by Hayley and the staff, setting the tone for an evening of culinary delight! We had the pleasure of sampling a variety of their signature dishes, including their colorful variety of different flavored xiao long baos, spicy pork wontons, cucumber salad and more! The original pork xiao long baos were my absolute favorite--delicate dumplings bursting with flavorful broth and tender pork. The radish pastries were also a surprising favorite, with their flaky exterior and savory filling. The spicy pork wontons packed just the right amount of heat, and the seasonal braised creamy butter lobster noodles were a luxurious treat and stuffed with a generous amount of lobster meat. Don't even get me started on the chocolate panda lava buns at the end of the meal--adorable and delicious with their molten chocolate center!!! And they fit perfectly in the cute little Yelp swag steamer baskets! Every dish was a testament to Paradise Dynasty's dedication to quality and flavor. Thank you Hayley and Yelp OC for another amazing event! We had so much fun and sampled so many dishes and beverages today! It was such a treat to have a special area just for us with managers and servers taking great care of our group! Service was exceptional with added bonus of learning special tidbits about the history of some of the dishes. I've been to Paradise Dynasty before, and have enjoyed their Radish Pastry (my favorite item on their menu) only one other time because they are always sold out. Learned today that they generally sell out for each meal period in the first hour! Definitely order these if you ever get the chance! Delicious!! It's always fun to order their special XLB sampler but after many visits, I've never tried all 8 flavors. I always enjoy the original, but I had the truffle one today, and really liked it. I love that their dumpling skin doesn't break and has lots of soup inside. Even more special is learning from the manager that the skin colors are all from natural ingredients and not food coloring! The cucumbers are so refreshing, and the pea shoots are a great way to get your green vegetables! I also loved the flavor of the black pepper beef! My first time trying that and won't be the last. Fried rice with pork chop is one of my regular items here. I just love how fragrant and fluffy the fried rice is. It was also a treat to try their seasonal special braised creamy butter lobster noodle which is apparently something they modified from a very popular Singapore dish. It was a little too sweet for my taste, but I did enjoy that it was balanced with a lightly spicy peppery kick. There were also nice big chunks of lobster tail, so it felt like a splurge. Iconic. Incredible. Divine. This event was SO fun! I will say that this event changed my perception of Paradise Dynasty as I had been before & not had a great experience, my thoughts have definitely changed. Though we started & ended late, everything was well organized from the line to check in to the section where we were all seated, the staff were lovely (shoutout to Jason & Alexis) & I felt comfortable & very welcome in the space. This menu was EXTENSIVE, I was not expecting the quantity or variety but I am eternally grateful. We started with the Singapore Sling which, though Gin is my spirit of choice, I've never really been a fan of the Sling HOWEVER, this one exceeded my expectations and I was lucky enough to have a second (and third, whoops!) 7.9/10 The Singapore Sling was followed by the Japanese Cucumber with Minced Garlic & Radish Pastry -- the cucumber was a great way to start the meal, very refreshing, the perfect amount of ginger & what I believe was a broth that it was sitting in, was lovely 9/10 The Radish Pastry was also pleasant, crispy & flaky, a nice little bite to have 7.9/10 We then moved onto the Dim Sum -- the Speciality Xiao Long Bao, Signature Xiao Long Bao, & Pork Wonton In Chili Oil. From the Specialty XLB, I had the Black Truffle, Garlic, Szechuan, & Original -- Szechuan was my favorite 9/10, the perfect amount of spice & not too overpowering, the Garlic & Black Truffle 8.5/10 were tied for second and I would say the Original is in a league of its own, it's a classic 8.8/10 The Pork Wonton in Chili Oil was divine, honestly something that I preferred over the XLB (though it's not a competition ;) 9.5/10, I think the oil was such a nice complement & overall it was a great way to end the Dim Sum portion of the afternoon. The last cocktail of the day was the Guava Mama & WOW -- so refreshing, a little crisp, & a great balance of ingredients, I'd come back just for this cocktail -- 9.6/10 On to the Main Dishes -- the Black Pepper Angus Beef was my favorite main, the beef was amazingly tender, the vegetables were stir fried perfectly, & overall it was seasoned exceedingly well 10/10 The Braised Creamy Butter Lobster Noodle in Nanyang Style Sauce was interesting! I'm glad I tried it, the noodles were nice, the lobster was good, but I do not necessarily care for how creamy & sweet it was, it was a bit overwhelming for my taste but it was a dish I can definitely appreciate 5.9/10 The Stir Fried Pea Shoots in Minced Garlic were a nice palate cleanser, almost reminiscent of a roasted broccolini but a bit less crisp, not something I would order but another dish that I can appreciate 7/10 The last main, Fried Rice with Fried Pork Chop, was a great way to end before dessert -- the pork was tender (though could have had a bit more crisp breading) and the rice was light yet filling 8.6/10 We ended with the CUTEST dessert, Panda Chocolate Lava Buns -- sweet, warm, & the chocolate tasted like what I would imagine the chocolate fountain in Willy Wonka would taste like, I would have had more if I wasn't so incredibly stuffed 9/10 This was a lovely event, Yelp always shows up & shows out and Paradise definitely did the same 10/10! read more

Attended a Yelp Elite event there and so glad I did. Excellent all around! I had been to Paradise Dynasty once before and had forgotten how good all the dishes are. Cucumber salad starter was super refreshing and the radish pastry was clever and deelish. All the dumplings were excellent, of course, and the kurobuta pork wonton was my fave. Entrees all solid. Butter lobster noodles were not for me, but that's more me than the dish itself. Decadent! read more

thank you to paradise dynasty, yelp oc, and hayley for this event! we were spoiled by the amazing service and of course the food! it was nice to be able to try some items I've already had and loved before, and to be able to discover new delicious dishes! from the entire course, my favorite items were the radish pastry, stir-fried black pepper angus beef with basil, both the signature and special dynasty xiao long baos, and the panda chocolate lava bun. the item I was most intrigued by was the braised creamy butter lobster noodle, but it ended up being a bit sweet and the noodle texture was on the softer side, so I didn't enjoy it as much. but overall, this was such a fun event and it was so nice meeting other people in the yelp elite community! will definitely be returning with family and friends so they can experience what paradise dynasty has to offer! read more

This was such a wonderful tasting event put on by Hayley, the Yelp OC team, and Paradise Dynasty. I had a great time meeting and getting to know other Yelpers. It was a such a fun & inviting experience! Hayley made sure that they could accommodate my dietary restrictions (vegetarian). We were thoroughly spoiled at this sit down event from start to finish! I would 100% recommend the welcome cocktail (Singapore Sling - gin) and intermezzo cocktail (Guava Mama - tequila)! Oh and can't forget the jasmine tea! For the appetizers, we had the Japanese cucumbers with minced garlic & radish pastry. Both had great flavor and I was actually really impressed with the radish pastry. It was flaky and the radish filling had great flavor, would highly recommend. Next for the vegetarians, we had the vegetarian wonton with chili oil, fried rice and stir-fried pea shoot with minced garlic. We ended the meal with the cutest panda chocolate lava buns! We were definitely stuffed and I had no room for dinner tonight! We took home some awesome goodies (yelp chopsticks, yelp mini dim sum basket, Paradise Dynasty cooler bag, and a $25 voucher to come back). Is there a way to give 10 stars? What an unbelievable experience. I felt so spoiled. Between the ambiance, service, food/drink taste and quality, everything was top notch. The hot jasmine green tea was a great opening. Cucumber garlic appetizer was light and so flavorful. The radish pastry was unique, light and delicious. I was unable to have their award winning dim sum dumplings as I don't eat pork but wow they looked amazing. The colors were beautiful and made with all natural ingredients. I was so tempted. Flavors like truffle, crab, cheese, garlic, kimchi, etc. The staff was so kind to modify the steamed wontons from pork to vegetable for me. Yum! Again, the flavors are incredible. The lobster noodles was rich, decadent and tasty. Had a sweet flavor to it. The fried rice was so good too! Even the meat eaters loved it. Both drinks I had sunrise and guava were very well done. Perfect amount of sweetness/alcohol ratio. And lastly the lava dessert was a perfect ending. I'm a stuffed panda just like my cute dessert :) the generous cooler take home bag was perfect to fit all of the leftovers and goodies in! I had the pleasure of being served by Jabin during my visit, and I can't say enough great things about the experience. From the moment we were seated, Jabin was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. What stood out the most was his warm personality and ability to make us feel valued as guests. He offered great recommendations, kept our drinks topped off, and checked in just the right amount without being intrusive. It's rare to find someone so committed to providing excellent service.
