At a couple of points, I was left waiting with instruments in my mouth for an extended periods while the provider stepped out of the room to speak with others at the front desk. The overall visit felt disjointed and took longer than expected. With what I was told would be as shorter procedure, extending to ar ound 2 hours due to interruptions between patients. I now understand what the staff meant by working between patients. I understand dental offices manage multiple patients, but I did not feel the experience of prioritizing patient comfort at all. I did my due diligence of contacting my dental insurance and found out the percentage that they would cover. The problem was centered with the communication and explanation at the office. I had informed the receptionist of what my dental insurance stated they would covered, expecting that I would pay a certain percentage of the bill. She assured me that I'd be reimbursed the large amount I was being charged on my credit card. Sure enough when I called them weeks later, they stated that part of the procedure they did was not covered because it's a "special device." THIS is irritating as a consumer. They should be upfront and tell you what is and what isn't covered. It feels shady how they presented it because as a regular customer, we assume a root canal is a root canal and that the customer has been told what percentage they have to pay by their insurance company. If I knew that they use a "special device" that costs extra and is not covered by my insurance, then they should be upfront and not try to act that the customer will then be reimbursed the expected amount.
