I decided to do something nice for myself with my bonus last year and started looking into permanent makeup. After viewing several websites, investigating different procedures and prices, I was encouraged to find one in Longmont that had resonable prices. I visited and owner Helen seemed nice and very knowledgeble. Where most places separate out "upper", "lower", and "lash enhancement", Helen included all of these into one price. I scheduled my eyeliner procedure a couple weeks out and decided to give electrolysis a try in the meantime. I was pretty satisified with my first treatment, though I did breakout pretty badly. Helen told me it was because I did not keep the area clean.
I had my 2nd electrolysis treatment the same day as my eyeliner. After looking at many before and after pictures, as well as Helen's own eyelinger and her daughter's (the receptionist) we had agreed on black eyeliner, and I had told her I wanted a bit more dramatic look thant what she had and I asked her to give me a heavier line than what she had. The procedure was long and uncomfortable and when she had finished there was a fair amount of swelling and soreness. I had a difficult time seeing clearly as my eyes were irritated from the topical. The black eyeliner was very dark, but I was told it would fade some. I followed the care sheet they gave me and waited 72 hours before applying makeup as instructed. I was so excited to completed my new look and on the 4th day, I applied foundation and macara. When I went to take my makeup off that night, the eyeliner started flaking pretty badly. The black color faded to a black/gray, and I noted that the line was not as thick as I had wanted and also that the liner under my lashes was not symetrical. On one side the line came up on the mucosal liner.
A month later, I had a 3rd electrolysis treatment and my touch up appointment on the eyeliner. Helen told me that I should have waited TWO WEEKS before applying mascara, but this was not on the care sheet I had been given. I asked for a heavier line and pointed out the area that was uneven. Helen selected a larger needle and applied the eyeliner. The process this time was very quick and painless as Helen had applied the topical before she did my electrolysis. They reminded me not to apply mascara for 2 weeks and I went home. Before I started the car, I took another look at the eyeliner in my visor mirror, that's when I noticed that Helen seemed to have missed a few hairs.
This time I followed the care instructions to the letter. You know what? The eyeliner STILL flaked after 4 days. What I ended up with was a slightly thicker line and the same uneveness that I had pointed out the previous time. So I went back a month later, had a 4th electrolysis treatment and then proceeded to point out for the 2nd time where the liner was uneven and also that the liner was not thick enough. Helen studied my eyes for quite a while and kept saying she did not see what I was referring to, and that she thought the liner enhanced my lashes even without mascara on. When I finally got Helen to admit that some of the liner went above my lower lashes, onto the mucosal liner, she said that she does not work on the mucosal liner and that it would fade over time. She did agree to add a little more liner, but only after telling me that each tatoo needle cost her $40. What really did me in was to see, once again, in the light of day, with my naked eye, hairs that she had somehow missed, though she was wearing very powerful magnification glasses....
So.... Here I am one year later and my eyeliner is still there, but faded to a charcol gray. It looks like I applied eyeliner a few days ago and this is what still remains. Better than nothing I guess. read more
