Yeah, this was the frantic call on Christmas Eve from my niece and her boyfriend who were stuck at the repair shop with no cash in hand. Amid the chuckles and head-shaking, I dashed out the door and called to my reindeer to whisk me away to the nearest place that was open on Christmas Eve and would allow me to wire some money to them. Thankfully the folks at Amscot were open for business and more than happy to help me shoot some money up to my niece so that she could continue her trip back home for Christmas. This Amscot location sits at the corner of Gunn Highway and Henderson Road, which is right next to the WalMart Super Center. They're open 7 days a week, and most nights till 10pm. Most folks were in there to get a payroll advance in order to finish their Christmas shopping, but this location also offers check cashing, business check cashing, FREE money orders, bill payment, prepaid credit cards and wireless plans, money transfers, and tax services to name a few. The lady that helped me was very friendly and efficient, and I certainly appreciated them being open to help me at that hour.
