I've bought jewelry from here quite a few times now (rings, earrings and the newest- a bracelet). Most recently I went here last weekend and I went in with the intention of not buying anything, just looking. (When I was in this store 1-2 years ago, I was not all that happy with the customer service I received, so that's why I was just going to look this time) This time, the man who runs the shop was a lot more approachable and had 2 other people helping him out. He makes the jewelry himself and his pieces are very nice looking. (For a while now I had my eye on a Herring Fish bracelet from a different store in Dennis, MA - Eden Hand Arts) This store in Dennis (which is completely unrelated to Elfstone) is closed until May and when I was visiting Elfstone I saw ONE Herring Bracelet - looked the same as the one I've been wanting from the place in Dennis! My boyfriend ended up buying me the Herring Fish bracelet from Elfstone - it is by far my favorite bracelet now. The man who runs Elfstone even cleaned my 2 Cape Cod screwball bracelets (which I didn't even buy from him- I got them several years ago at Eden Hand Arts) and they looked brand new once they were cleaned. He ever soldered a ring that I got for my boyfriend in Cancun- all of this was done at no extra charge! The service I got this time was much better than years past and I love the bracelet. It was $140 (before tax) and I actually was looking on-line to see if I could find this bracelet else where and there was a store based out of Ontario, and this bracelet was actually $210 on their website- not sure if it is even a legitimate site to begin with though. But knowing that we got it for $70 less is nice and the quality is great. read more

Went to Elfstone Silver and Gold to replace a watch battery. The owner took the watch and broke off one of the handles that hold the bracelet. He refused any responsibility for breaking the watch telling us that the watch is poorly made. My mother had been wearing this watch every day for two years and it worked perfectly fine. In fact, the watch is made by a highly reputable company and I paid $350 for the watch. The owner of the shop refused any responsibility, he did not fix the broke watch or proposed to replace it. I find it absolutely stunning and totally inexcusable. I am obviously going to post as many truthful reviews about this business on social media, and file a complaint with Better Business Buro. But be aware! Update: The owner reached out and offered to compensate for the broken watch. read more

The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. The owner takes care of his customers, many of which are loyal ones that return time after time. My girlfriend bought me a claddagh here and I've broken it several times in a rough work environment where it gets crushed. Every time I come in, he fixes it while I wait and has no problem cleaning up my class ring for free also. These are the kind of people that you send a Christmas card or a thank you letter to annually. Customer service is top notch! read more

I was hesitant but after great thought I decided to give an honest review on my recent visit to the store. I have done several transactions over the years, so I was taken back. My son purchased a corded charm set for me for my birthday. The cords come in different sizes , 6, 6.30, 7 etc.. well he got the wrong size cord. I called and spoke with Andy explaining I would need a larger size cord, as the one that was purchased was too small. Now keep in mind I have a bracelet set that I cannot wear till I get the new cord. Which Andy needed to order from the company who makes them. Ok, I show up with charm and cord, not worn at all with the intentions of swapping for the proper size. I couldn't believe he charged me $50.00 for the new cord. seriously poor poor business. I asked what do I do with the 6.30 size that doesn't fit my wrist? His answer was oh well, I can't use it .I'm sure he could have sold with another charm set. It's purely principal. Your'e selling a charm and cord set, which are costly to begin with. Now your'e charging again for the proper size cord. For that reason alone you just lost a loyal customer. read more

This is an average. 5 stars for the beautiful jewelry and a gentleman to help with sizing and do custom work on site. 1 star for the abhorrent treatment I received from the sales woman. I left without a purchase and won't return if I see her there. Unfortunately, what I thought was starting out as a really positive experience turned much less so. I think all the jewelry was absolutely gorgeous. I was in the midst of seriously considering one of their rings, which I often can't find small enough but they had a person onsite to handle such issues. It was when a much older woman came in looking for advice on a bracelet for someone who was 50 that I thought I might be of help and chimed in. While not quite 50, I'm also not very far away (44). Apparently the sales woman (I would guess in her early 40s) made clear that my help was not needed. Please note, I was in no way discouraging a purchase, rather just asking whether the person being purchased for would prefer a bracelet that was secured versus 'a bangle' as I tend to lose bracelets that are not secured. I misspoke. It was a cuff and the sales woman made sure to clarify, which was fair. And then the sales woman said, 'I don't know what's happening here.' It made me feel like she thought I was trying to deter a higher sale she was tying to make. I have no idea the cost of the bracelet she was showing so I can't say I was encouraging a lower sale. I apologized for any confusion I was causing and suggested I 'just head out'. THE SALES WOMAN SAID 'THANK YOU!' You are very welcome. I understand my business is unnecessary and I'll be sure to take mine elsewhere. And for any one else who prefers solid customer service with their fine jewelry, I suggest taking your business elsewhere as well. read more

Beautiful jewelry and the men were so helpful and nice and the earrings my mother bought for my birthday present are lovely. However, I keep thinking back on my visit a week later because the woman was so rude it actually made my jaw drop. Maybe it was the stress of the holidays or maybe she was just having a bad day. Regardless I won't be coming back which is a shame since my mother lives close by and had purchased several items here before. read more
