I am extremely disappointed with Elevation Credit Union. My vehicle was repossessed yesterday, and I made a good-faith effort to immediately pay my past-due payments. Instead of working with me or offering any reasonable solution, they refused to accept my late payments and demanded the full balance -- something that is simply impossible given today's economic conditions. On top of that, communication has been very poor. Many times the bank is closed, understaffed, or does not have proper personnel available to assist customers. It is very difficult to get clear answers or timely help when you need it the most. Right now, many financial institutions are working with their customers and offering options during these difficult times. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I was willing and ready to resolve my account, but no opportunity was given. I expected better customer service, communication, and understanding from a credit union that claims to support its members. I would not recommend this institution or do business with them based on my experience. I will also be supporting upcoming laws in the State of Colorado that aim to bring more fairness and accountability to repossession practices, as situations like this highlight the need for better consumer protections. I hope they improve how they treat customers facing temporary hardship, because situations like this only make things worse for people trying to do the right thing. read more

5 stars eleven years ago to what would now be zero if that option existed. I am sitting here in the lobby frustrated again because they cannot even close my account competently. A 10 minute simple transaction is taking almost an hour. I am closing all of my accounts and never coming back because of multiple problems and difficulty working with them. I gave them feedback concerning one of the problems and was assured it would never happen again - it happened again. This does not give me confidence they listen to customers. The performance does not match the hype and marquee. I liked banking here at one time but they are hard to work with. Read the fine print of anything you sign. I cannot recommend and suggest moving your money. I don't trust them and trust in a financial institution is paramount. read more

I've been with them for a bit less than 5 years. We have a mortgage and my wife & I each have checking acts & savings acts. In all the time that interest rates were high and now also -- not a penny in interest on our savings acts. I often keep enough in my checking act. for 2 or 3 mortgage pmts. They've got free use of my money. Their ATMs are weird. Also their website is awful. It's hard to pay my mortgage online. It's hard to get someone on the phone. I'm actively looking for a better place to bank. On the plus side, there is at least one good person in the Loveland office, the manager, when I really need help I go in in person. read more

Just wanted to say that my dealings with Elevations Credit Union in Loveland have been nothing but very good. I have been banking with them for over 3 years and have really enjoyed all my experiences with them. Tellers Katie and Mary always have a smile and have always been very helpful. Recently, I was having some issues with my account and Noah, who also has been great in aiding me before, helped me sort through some of it and then suggested getting more assistance from a banker. I was assigned Isaac and he was great. He helped me make some key decisions that I very much appreciate. He also introduced me to the branch manager, Corrine (?), and we had a fun conversation. All in all, I can't say enough good things about this branch! They have been there for me from the start and were especially helpful during the pandemic. I used to have a mortgage with this bank in 2005. Back then, it was great. Now, it is a flipping disaster. Nothing works. Their web portal is useless and every transaction takes at least an hour in person. Stay away. Save yourself the headache. Wish I would have researched how bad things had gotten at this bank before I agreed to get a mortgage through them. Too bad, it used to be a great institution. Elevations did good until my small-balance account was hacked and Whoever stole from it, KNEW my pattern of small withdrawals To remain undetected, the withdrawals were bogus ACH (in name only, not authorized by me) in the amounts as if it were me. This started while I was hospitalized, so I wasn't checking. Four months later I receive a call stating I need to "make a deposit". This fraud did not come through Debit card, but straight from the Routing number, and account number. I call back to hear there's a string of Asian names on each fraudulent transaction with fake ACH number, and fake PayPal merchant number. That day I completed affidavit of fraud, but bc it was beyond 60 days, I was out $170. I was refunded fraudulent amounts AND overdraft fees for previous 60 days. I thought about this for quite a while, and Elevations should have closed the account and reopened another in addition to generating a new Debit card (which was done at time of affidavit). I wondered what would stop the hacking from continuing. Elevations, doing THEIR due diligence, required me to check with PayPal, who wasn't interested in helping unless there was actual fraud on that account. I forgot that account was unconnected to PayPal, so jumping through hoops was a waste. This On later Customer Service phone convo, I asked about an exception for the amount non-refundable for the first 60 days, since I couldn't check the account. She said we've already refunded "a lot". Saying THAT to me has NOTHING to do with the amount I was unable to recover. I closed the account and reopened with new account number. But still didn't have a peace about remaining with Elevations. I have moved on to a CU with far better Membership terms. I don't feel my money is safe there. I have other accounts there which are untouched. These incidents were not handled properly, by my standard. And I can't help but think this was an inside job. There's a variety of reports where Employees are offered attractive money to sell out on the People trusting their system. I'm done. read more

Worst bank we've ever dealt with I canceled all our cards through them and they've still been charging random amounts to our accounts making them go negative and then adding on insufficient fees with no reimbursement staff is very rude and gives little information and little help i'd go anywhere else but here if I could do it over again read more

Worst Bank Ever Don't fall for the cozy community involvement, customer "service," and disaster relief commercials advertised by this credit union. They're a bank, pure and simple, and you know what that means. "We believe in empowered banking." Here's how that worked for me: Moving to Loveland a couple of years ago, I opened an account at Elevations and then sold my former residence. That sale represented my life savings, 35 years of work at the same job. I planned to deposit the money in Elevations and then pay off the mortgage on the Loveland house I had just purchased. I encountered a friendly, enthusiastic teller. I told him, very clearly, what my business involved. Giving him the correct account numbers, and endorsing the check correctly, I requested that my modest six-figure life savings be deposited into my account, preparatory to paying off my mortgage. The teller executed the standard practices and handed me my receipt. A glance at the total assured me that the transfer had been processed correctly. Later, feeling very empowered, I prepared to make arrangements to pay off my mortgage and, in the process, noticed that the receipt I had been given did not include my name. Indeed, it showed that my money had been deposited, not to my account, but to the account of someone else. In other words, Elevations Credit Union had given my life savings to another depositor. Before panic set in, I checked my account online and verified that the six figures were missing and that the deposit I thought I had made did not exist. I then called the bank and urged them to treat my difficulty as an emergency. After speaking with two employees and emailing a copy of the incorrect receipt, I received a call from the initial teller. He fell all over himself with numerous apologies and then, empowered by the bank, offered me a $20 gift card to the Dairy Queen. Disaster relief. I probably should have taken my cue from that episode; however, it took the next one to impel me to terminate my relationship: I received a check from a foreign transaction, something which I had never encountered before. Taking the check to the bank, I endorsed it, included my account number correctly, and requested cash. The teller gave me the correct amount in cash and the transaction was completed, I thought. As it turns out, foreign transactions are subject to taxes and fees from our government, which greatly reduce the amount of money that can be realized by the recipient. That amount is approximately 2/3rds for a foreign transaction or at least it was with my check. Both the teller and I were equally ignorant of this arrangement, which is odd, since the teller was supposedly trained in such details. I received several messages telling me to return to the bank and pay the fees. The next day I discovered that my bank account had been reduced by the amount of the check. But the questionable aspect of this reduction is that it was not indicated on the statement as a withdrawal. The amount was simply missing with no notification whatsoever. There was no notation indicating any error on the part of the teller or any discrepancy on my part. I objected to this action on the part of the bank and so informed them. It seemed fraudulent to me that a bank can simply reduce a depositor's account by whatever amount they decree without a disclosure or explanation. If they can empower themselves in this way, they may be able to empower themselves in even more significant ways and with even more significant amounts. Once again, the bank apologized for the teller's error and assured me that the teller would be re-trained. (No disaster relief gift card to the Dairy Queen was offered this time.) I informed the bank that the teller's lack of skill was irrelevant to me but that non-disclosure of amounts withdrawn without my permission or knowledge appeared fraudulent and that I was concerned about such a policy or action. Statements which do not include all transactions are erroneous, incomplete, and in need of correction. Two major incidents with this bank have put me on alert and I now deposit my money with a bank that is openly just that; i.e., a profit-mongering institution that exists to take as much of my money as it can and give back as little as possible without, so far, fraudulent activity. At least we understand each other. Any perks? In my new bank building there is a complete lack of stiletto clacking on the floors. The sound is simple and unpretentious, invitational, in fact. Because of the poor quality of people ..lack of privacy... and the crummy attitude of the management on my last visit, I have moved most everything from this CU to 2 other CUS but I still have an account there with minimum funds and I found that i needed to stop in... I was pleased to see that they had done some work to make privacy a little better ... and the young man who actually lives in Loveland that helped me was a great teller... And as I watched him and the other Teller they both did a good job... far better than my last experience. Unfortunately the head teller/manager type lady who was on the phone in the teller area was less than professional and kept interrupting the tellers with comments about some personal conversation she was having on the phone.... Elevations you have improved a bit but you are a long way from treating Loveland like you do Boulder.... read more

Elevations contacted me to tell me that they could refinance my car for a lower interest rate than I was getting through Wellsfargo. They lowered my rate 3% points-from 7.49 to 4.49! I had previously contacted Wellsfargo to ask them to lower my interest rate, but they would not, consequently, they lost my business. read more

Ever since Elevations moved to it's new location and seems to have let go of their old employees, I feel like it hasn't been the same.

We were first time home buyers and never interested in dealing with the any of the big for profit banks. We definitely wanted to stick to a credit union and we were so glad to have found Elevations. Everyone that works at this Fort Collins office is absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming with a very positive vibrant energy. We worked with Jim Perkins to get our mortgage loan. He is incredible and we got the house of our dreams thanks to his hard work and quick response time. The experience I received here was beyond exceptional and I'm so happy to be part of the union. I highly recommend going to a credit union, especially Elevations. Let's keep supporting each other! read more
