I just went there today and had - over all - a great visit. The place is amazing, the whole interior fits really great together and it's just a nice place to be in. My hairdresser didn't say her name or even ask for mine, but went straight to business. What's ok, I still kind of wanna know the persons name.. Anyways, when it comes to what I wanted and what I got, I can't complain. She made it exactly how I said it, which is a very good thing. What annoyed me a little, was that she didn't talk to me really, except for the small talk at the beginning. Which is totally fine for me, life. BUT - whenever she actually talked to me, she was trying to sell something.. Except from that and not introducing herself it was very good and very nice. Would come back! read more

Great place good stylists! Lawrence is extremely good! I've been coming for over 5 years, and will continue! read more

I've lived in town for 5 years and I finally found a hair dresser who cares, TARSH. My first hair cut in around 3 years and she was so gentle, she did exactly what I asked for, and was super careful with the length of my hair. She's genuine and a good listener, not someone who's gonna force her opinion on whats best for you. At the end she styled it with beautiful waves, made me feel like a princess. I've been getting compliments since I left the hair salon. Honestly if I ever get married I want Tarsh to do my hair They let me bring my puppy too, she just hung out next to my chair. The vibe is classy and chill. read more

i Will not return or recommend even though I was okay with the stylist. I had 3 appointments here, I paid for the hair services and tipped well 3 times knowing that it's hard to make ends meet in Whistler but to be charged almost double from one time to the next for highlights with no explanation when I asked about the pricing seemed unreasonable. After the final highlights and style pricing was so elevated my husband made 'light' of my anger by saying, they are named 'Elevation'. He was just as cheeky when I told him the owner had rang in my bill. Shame really, no need for that type of over charging. Thank goodness a friend referred me elsewhere, there are other Choices. read more

I was in need of revamping my brassy hair and brightening my highlights. I researched this hair salon and checked out their Instagram. I came across Risako's account and fell in love with her work. I called the studio to schedule an appointment and the receptionist informed me they require a complimentary consultation with the stylist. I was bummed I couldn't get my hair done immediately, but I have never had a proper consultation with a hair dresser to analyze my hair and discuss my desired results. I had my consultation booked for 3 days later. The consultation with Risako went great as she walked me through her process in detail and helped level set my expectation for pricing. 4 days later I was in her chair getting my hair done. She created a friendly experience and we chatted about things to do in Whistler. Upon completion of my hair, she provided instructions for hair care post-dye and suggested various products for me to utilize to maintain results. I would recommend this place - I trusted Risako with my hair and was impressed to learn she has 18 years of experience! If you aren't in a rush to get your hair done same-day, then I think you'll be pleased with the services at Elevation Hair Studio. The front desk staff were polite and provided endless refills to my hot tea. The selection of quality hair care products was terrific and fits all budgets. read more

Elevation Hair Studio - Hair Salons Near Me - Whistler, British Columbia

If you're looking for a salon with mean condescending energy and overpriced treatments I recommend Elevation. The stylists take their own preferences into consideration more than their clients and proceeded with a different colouring than what I consented to during the consultation. To make it better they'll also toss in judgemental comments and patronizing eye looks. I left this place paying double what I asked for and feeling like shit about how it looked and how I was treated. When I called the receptionist to ask about it she was rude about the fact I had been given a difference price quote during the initial consultation. Waste of time, energy and money. read more

I am really hesitant about my hair and I get it cut when I am in LA but I was desperate so I asked around and got referred to this local salon. You would have to know where it is because it is on the second floor by the TD bank and it dose not even have a website. I phoned a couple days in advance and I was able to get Nina (whom came highly recommended) She turned out to be a bubbly, upbeat young girl whom grew up in Whistler. She was just bursting with energy and passion for the hair industry. She told me all about the redkin updo course she had just taken. She also did a bang up job on my hair and I left feeling really uplifted. i will defiantly go back and see Nina. Its nice to see passion in the workplace read more

I just had the pleasure of having my hair colored at Elevation Hair Studio by Nina. She was spot on with her guidance on the color that would accentuate my features and look natural. Nina also recommended a smoothing procedure that made my hair feel so silky. Not only is she quite skilled at her craft, she is so funny and a joy to chat with! The entire staff was very friendly to each other and to the clientele. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Whistler! read more

Terrible. I booked my appointment well in advance by email, letting them know that I have short hair and hadn't had a cut in five weeks. I hoped that I would get a stylist with some skills in working with short hair. Instead, I got somebody who dipped into what must be an extremely thin playbook and pulled out a style I can only guess is called Bull Dyke #1. Now, to be fair, I was wearing a plaid shirt. But that doesn't mean I want to look like a 55-year-old garbageman. I had done my best to explain what I was looking for, and again explained that it had been five weeks (not months) since my last cut. I suppose I should have been paying attention, but this unfortunate (and uninteresting) person also talked non-stop about herself, so I closed my eyes and tuned her out. When I opened my eyes five minutes later, she had already butchered the sides and back. She knew immediately that she'd screwed up, and said there would be no charge, so I give her credit for figuring that out. But I'll never go back. The good news: hair grows back, and my stylist in Vancouver is kind-of a genius. read more

I chose to get a haircut at Elevation while in Whistler on a ski trip, and the receptionist suggested I try Risako. It was a fortunate suggestion. She is among a select few hair stylists who have given me such a satisfactory haircut. I'll admit that I typically walk away from a haircut rather traumatized and have to wait a week or two before I really like the results. With this haircut, I immediately loved it. She gave me a really nice relaxing scalp massage during the shampoo, and knew enough to only use conditioner, not shampoo, due to my curly hair. After a thorough discussion as to how she planned to shape my hair, and the initial cut, she asked if I wanted to take a little more here or there - rather than just over cutting it. I'm very impressed, as you can see, and now just have to figure out how to get to Whistler every few months for my regular shaping! Thank you, Risako - I'll be back! read more

By far my favourite hair salon in whistler. I always end up going back even though I live in Squamish. The service is fantastic and I have never left disappointed. The prices are very fair. Reception staff are great, friendly and very organized. Looking forward to my next haircut! read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. Time of appointment was messed up, asking me and my mom to arrive at the same time only to find out there was one stylist to do both of us, expecting of if us to wait while the other had her hair done. Completely unapologetic and accommodating, no regard for time. Extremely disappointing, would not recommend. Also still charged for my appointment even though there was not time to do my hair as we had to depart for a wedding. read more

Ok anyplace than can convince me to spend $45 on hair care products deserves all the stars. This place is operated by cool chicks that give cool haridos. Mens haircuts are $28 and you cant beat that. My wifes haircut well a little more than that ( reason #139 why I am glad I am a man). Cailey did a great job on my hair and my hair usually sucks. She suggested that I buy some good shampoo and conditioner that would cost me $45. I asked her how this would be better than my Suave shampoo that costs me $1.09 at Target. Her arguments were both concise and persuasive. read more

Nina is the most amazing hairdresser on the planet. Seriously. Go see her once, and you will never see another hairdresser again.

After 15 years of going to this salon, I saw a new recommended stylist who colored and cut my hair. I asked for blond, bright, highlights and the color was on my card. 3hrs and $250 later I sat in the chair and said my hair is still quite brown. When I called the next day to get it fixed, I was told I had to wait 3 days to talk to the manager, that the color is what I asked for and if I wanted to pay more to get it fixed they could book me in. The hairdresser I saw would not even talk to me! WOW! Customer service disappointment for sure. As for the cut, when she saw I was disappointed with the color she hurried through and forgot to trim the front of my hair. read more
