Being a highly known international information security firm, I wanted to take a shot at a new website with a firm that did it best. While our site gets to the point, there is a modern element that good design and execution can bring that exceeds what all else can do. I searched for almost a year to try and find a firm that could represent t our brand and understand what we do and how to make it understood by the broader market. After much deliberation buhv was the one. They were more expensive than others but I thought that they sold it well. Upon signing the contract...that's where the failure began. Their timelines we're neatly layed out in Basecamp and promptly missed. They told us over and over that without content they refus d to wireframe or show us site concepts (I mean..how are people supposed to know what words should go where when there is no design what so ever). But then it got worse. Constantly missing deadlines, the team working in our project changed over n over again due to the management not running an honorable business. But we kept in it. Like anything there is always things the customer could do better vs blame a vendor.. and I sure know because I am in the services business. But despite providing what they wanted.. it continued to get worse. Even the basic outline of sites that we wanted our to look like was totally ignored... And blamed on us even though we had the emails showing them we communicated it clearly. Then they blamed the turn over. So we gave them ANOTHER chance. Yet again.. total miss. We were about 4 months OVERDUE when I tried for a last time to save it. Their meeting g with us was as apologetic as one can be and I sympathize as a business owner...so I gave em another try. Well.. throughout this.. there SEO s services ce was happily billing us.. for what? Well we had no site from them.. and when they did keyword analysis, I received better results from Fiver than the spreadsheet they found "hard to create" (which was simply an xls from tool output. Their "secert seo methodology" is nothing more than using SEMRUSH and their "custom SEO dashboard" is just a white labeled version of https://agencyanalytics.com . Yet somehow they are proud to charge $2500 a month for this scam that any of you can do at home. Being the forgiving person I am..I was in deep 10+ k with 0 website a logo rebrand charge to literally remove a layer in the .ai file I sent them and a boatload of SEO fees on something that didn't exist... They did finish our style guide... After 4 months of begging for requests. Anyway, fast forward to earlier this month. Now 20k in.. and 6 pages have been designed (in WordPress..and you all know how long that takes..lol) and they are pesterimg us more and more for billing. Not to mention that they continue to change people on the project and try to bill us for more of their vaporware. My wife is the vp of our company and scheduled a meeting with one of the "owners" Robert Lane. She showed up promptly in time and he couldn't attend because "it was massage day" in the office. Yet, being $$$ had been committed we tried to get it over the finish line. Finally we find that they made changes to our current site that broke our contact form COSTING us business!!! When we asked what happened..they once again denied it. Luckly this time the logs tell a different story. When called to the mat about it.. this long winded story about how they brought in contractors to look at it and help us fix it came out. And as their email said " because .net is difficult." I was pretty shocked I mean.... #1 the site is built in php and JavaScript. And #2 .net is hard for a WEB DEVELOPER?!?! ANYWAY...after we got that mystery solved we said... Hey.. once we realized it was broken.. we went in and fixxed it and locked you out so you couldn't cause more problems. All this and I finally got the stones to just suck up the 20k loss and cut bait. So like a good owner and person I scheduled a 1 on 1 meeting with the owner to discuss on Friday. He happily accepted. On Sunday, he emailed for an adgenda to which I replied "it's a private meeting between 2 business owners to discuss our relationship" Monday rolls around and I wake up to an email "As a business owner, I make it a habit of showing people the respect of a meeting topic or agenda, and don't expect to show up randomly for 30 minutes.  Thus, I've cancelled the meeting."
