My 14 y.o. daughter has autism and cerebral palsy and for years I had to lay under her and hold her down at the dentist. The first time with Dr. Shah I didn't even have to hold her hand. That first visit Dr. Shah scheduled her over the lunch hour so no other patients would be there and she could focus on her without having anything to distract my daughter. She did the cleaning herself and had extreme patience with my daughter, gave her breaks, and was just amazing. My daughter is non-verbal and wrote about how much she liked it. Every other experience has been wonderful and the visits prepared by daughter for orthodontic work and hugely built up her trust. Dr. Shah many times answers the phone, is available via e-mail, and always calls to follow up on any issues. My son had a big infection in his gums related to his wisdom teeth eruption. Dr. Shah called the next day to check on him and to see how his emergency visit to an oral surgeon went (instead of waiting to hear from the surgeon herself). She is extremely caring, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her for ANY special needs child. She totally "gets" them. She remembers patients in great detail, too. They love her calling them "sweet child". :-) The schedule is usually very open, too. Changes can be made easily, which is something I have to do at times given my daughter's medical needs.

After checking every recommendation I could find, I made an appoint to see Dr. Goodman. It took me over a year to decide which dentist I should see. Pretty quick I felt Dr. Goodman was the best dentist I've been to! He's very kind, listens (!), explains, is gentle, calming, never judgmental. He keeps his office and staff up to date on all the technology, quite often he has attended conferences for the latest info and equipment available. Dr. Goodman will explain all the options for a procedure, usually there are more than one and I've never felt pushed to do anything I didn't want. The entire staff is helpful and kind from the front desk receptionist, to billing (she really knows her stuff with insurance!), to the hygienist. Everyone is professional, helpful and up to date. I was just at Prairie Hawk Dental office for a cleaning & the young lady was a temp who goes to different offices as needed. She told me that she has probably worked at 50 dental offices and that Prairie Hawk Dental office was the best of all of them, with all their up to date equipment and how the office is run. That says so much! This office can do implants, laser procedures, crowns, and many other dental procedures. I had a crown made after a root canal one time and the crown was done in an hour! No waiting a couple weeks with a temp crown, for it to arrive from another company! Because Dr. Goodman has all the equipment right there! Don't look any farther for a great dentist and staff, it's Prairie Hawk! There are also two other dentists that work there, I've heard great things about them too! Highly recommend!
