If you talk with him he can tell you how he got to where he is. I came in to record a song and was worried about not knowing what I was doing. Ian was patient with me and encouraging along the way. When I didn't like how I sounded, he scrapped it immediately instead of trying to keep it as it was to move forward. When I went to record doubles I messed up my runs (since as a singer they're pretty random) and even though I kept messing up he was patient with me and broke it down into smaller segments for me. This is more work for him, but he cares about your content sounding good. I plan to come back again to work with him.
