I already had basic knowledge with makeup throughout my years of doing my own makeup as well as friends/family. A little about me and what drew me to Cedars Academy. I previously worked in the medical field as well as at a medspa. During the pandemic I quickly realized that I needed a new career path. My passion has always been to help or make people feel good about themselves inside and out. A Light bulb struck! I can turn my passion into reality by attending Cedars Academy and becoming certified as well as getting paid for doing what I love to do! I learned all the tools to start my own makeup business as well as new makeup techniques, brush handling, sanitation and much more.. Cedars Instructors are all so phenomenal! I love the flow of the studio, it is so organized and beautifully put together. I love that the instructors are attentive, give constructive feedback, and meticulous attention to detail (important for bbp). The instructors really take the time to work with you to ensure you understand and learn what you struggle with. The team at Cedars Academy answered all my questions/ helped me with any concerns even after completion of my courses. I learned what I'd hoped to learn and then some. This course exceeded my expectations! I was thoroughly taught a variety of information, from sanitation, color theory, to application, and even how to ideally position my body while working on clients. I appreciated Cedar and the instructors for their attention to detail, clear visuals, and willingness to answer any questions, as they instructed. The course is beginner friendly, even for those with no prior beauty experience. Overall, thankful for Cedars Academy makeup courses this was TOP NOTCH! Professionalism, depth of the curriculum, and the hands-on training allowed me to walk away feeling knowledgeable and confident enough to start the next phase as a certified makeup artist. Definitely worth it!

But when I got home and cleansed my face that night and started my usual skin care routine, I realized there were areas all over my face that were hurting, I looked in the mirror and realized I had small abrasions all over my face, neck and chest from where they exfoliated to hard. Then I had a pedicure, by another student , she cut both sides of my feet with one of those purple exfoliating scrubbers. Instead of just using it on my heals and rough spots, she scrubbed the inside of my foot where the soft skin is, it was very obvious and she didn't even apologize. I let her keep going, but when it came to the paint job, first she didn't clean the toe nail off first, that still had oil on it. Then she painted some of the toe nail, some of the skin , put the top coat on and then went back over some spots with more color. Honestly a first grader learning to color in the lines would have done better. She then had her instructor come sign off and I told them I was no longer interested in having my hair done, it was supposed to be the person who did the nails. I showed her where I had been cut, still no apology. Anyways I went straight to Noir and had them redo my nails! I totally understand it's a school and people are learning, but this was not ok. I also called and left a message with I guess the person, that fields complaints and never received a call back. I wasn't going to post this if I had had a person call me back. But they didn't.
