So, I don't normally leave reviews but just had to this time. I'd been to Elements Salon twice, and Rachelle was my stylist. I had a wedding to go to so I walked in one day to make an appt. Rachelle happened to greet me and I said great, I need an appt for a wedding do. She took 5 minutes right then and there to give ne a quick consult and made the suggestion to lighten with lots of foils and then said, "You know, I notice you wear purple a lot, (how'd she know that?), what if we then add just a few purple highlights to add some fun and interset"? I said oh yes. So she said, I'd like to make you my last appt on the day we decide, so I make sure to have time for all the steps. I mean, who does that? She stayed late on my appt day as it took about 3 hours and needless to say my hair was...GEORGEOUS! I got so many compliments at the wedding I almost felt sorry for the bride! Everyone wanted to know who did my hair, where'd you get your hair done?, etc. I just wanted to say a big thank you to Rachelle! You're so sweet, and such a pro! My stylist was Leah. I had dark roots (level 5-6) that I wanted to bump up the color in order to blend with my older highlight, and also have some partial highlights to frame my face. My older highlights were turning brassy and my roots needed some work, so I decided to make an appointment at this salon. The results after $109 price tag are shown in the pictures below....Very disappointing. I asked her where the partial highlights were placed? She told me in the center of my head (Even though I explained I wanted them to frame my face where I originally part my hair on the sides). I asked why my roots were so dark? She told me it was deposit-only color that she put at the roots. I asked why my old highlights hair were still yellow and brassy? She told me she that she did tone them down. Overall, just disappointing results. I think the problem was Leah not listening to what I was telling her I wanted. However, now it will cost me even more money to get color correction. I refused to pay for the partial highlights since I just didn't see them in my hair. She said she could redo "12 foils". I feel that her "12 partial foils" will not "redo" the dark roots and yellow/brassy old highlights. read more

Excellent small salon in Lincoln City. The staff is friendly and my haircut is perfect. Not a lot more needs to be said, except parking is on the street (which happens to be HWY 101 in LC.) I have been waiting to get a cut/color done for a while & after reading the reviews for this salon I scheduled an appointment for our anniversary trip. My appointment was with Hope today and the moment I got there she asked if we wanted anything to drink and made me a cup of coffee with the "one cup" machines. I described the color I was looking for and she made a suggestion of mixing a red with the chestnut to give me the desired shade. With the highlights I told her to do them whatever shade she felt would look the most natural. While she was coloring my hair she kept the conversation going, but didn't ever force it and happily answered questions and suggested things to do, places to to & the best restraints. (I like a stylist that can talk and avoid the awkward silence, but allow the client to direct it). Very gentle when rinsing/washing my hair as well as when styling it. When she was flat-ironing my hair she made a few adjustments to the cut. If you have thick hair, definitely see Hope! She has thick hair herself & understands the need to have it thinned and layered properly. Something that thin haired or in betweeners don't get. I will be returning! As a reference I got an all-over color, highlights throughout my hair -instead of just on top-, a in depth cut as well as it being blow-dried and flat ironed. My total came to $105 (before my tip). I just had my first cut / color here with Lauren about a week ago and it won't be my last. Although I don't live here full time I'll be working my next haircuts at Elements when I'm in town. Lauren is an excellent stylist and I was also very pleased with her suggestions (and execution) regarding my color. She also happily waxed my brows at the shampoo bowl which was great! Along with the great cut / color you'd expect at a high end salon in any city, the prices are great too (especially considering I've been working in Bellevue WA for the past 1+ years).
