I came shopping with my 5-year-old son and I forgot and placed my basket at the cashier. The older gentleman working around 6 PM became visibly upset that I didn't take the items out myself. He repeatedly complained (4-5 times) that I was slowing him down, speaking in a rude and frustrated tone. ( You can tell me nicely ) I apologized, but he continued with a negative attitude and clearly did not want to provide service. After scanning, while I was bagging my items, he threw the basket behind him in an angry manner. I truly don't understand why I was treated this way. I did nothing wrong. If he does not want to work in customer service, I don't understand why he is in this role. There is no reason to be this rude to a customer. This experience turned what should have been a good day into a very unpleasant one. I shop here often and have always found the staff to be kind and welcoming, which makes this even more disappointing. You can review the security footage for around 6 PM today--I also have my receipt from this visit. This is unacceptable.

We go here once or twice a year and shop for plates and bowls for our house. You can buy one or more of any style. The prices are excellent. The service is fast at the register. They wrap each dish in newspaper to keep it safe for your travels home. If you've never been here, I recommend checking it out. It's hard to imagine you wouldn't leave with a few things that you didn't know you needed. Lastly, it's worth noting that they are very consistent in their brands. So if you buy dishes and a few years later, need to replace one or two due to breakage or wear and tear overtime, they will likely still have the exact same item. This makes keeping your dishes, consistent as opposed to a mishmash of different types and styles.

Firstly, it was my first time shopping at a co op and I really really really love that aspect of it. Anytime I can support a business like this, I want to! But beyond that, I was skeptical that the prices would be outrageous and was fairly surprised that they really weren't! Ok sure, some items were pricey, and that's true for any small store in this city, but for the bulk items and dry goods, the pricing was incredibly reasonable! I even found the same scones I buy at my local box box grocery store for cheaper here!! What?! I was also just blown away by the variety of choices.. they've got everything here.. produce, condiments, dry goods, chips, snacks, bulk items, tea, medicines and supplements, and a section of boutique handmade goods that was so awesome to look through!! I don't live close by but I will be back anytime I go to see my friend (which is often).

OA has a plentiful bulk section with all the teas, grains, and beans you could ask for. A few hard-to-find favorites are: dried boba, soba noodles, THAI TEA(?!) and all the liquids. And of course, bringing your own containers is encouraged. Phew! I wish they would start a refrigerated section for things like miso and tofu!

I was doubtful that I would like, but I'm glad I was wrong. I bought two trays, I tried the London broil, salmon and lemon chicken with 4 sides, all very good. I recommend it, you will be glad. The staff is friendly and the portions are generous, this is an awesome deal. My only negative is their carts for the disabled. They are awful! I had such a difficult time attempting to drive it. It has a ridiculous sensor that makes it impossible to drive as it automatically stops every time you are 2 feet from an object or person. They are also very slow, if I could have I would have not used it, but unfortunately that's not an option for as I have great difficulty walking. They need to replace these awful carts with better new carts. I informed the staff and they agreed they are not the best carts for customers.

But it's obvious no one teaches any customer service skills nowadays. They close every self checkout at 8:45 PM, otherwise I would prefer to do it myself anyways due to bad attitudes like this, but after the 20+ person line, I had my basket on the conveyer belt with a few yogurts, and the cashier mutters something, so I said sorry and asked her to repeat herself. Apparently she wanted me to take every item out of the basket, when usually, cashiers just grab the item from the basket. What a stickler, very cool and lovely person! But hey, not my problem the other 10 people behind me now gotta wait another 30 seconds. After she waits a bit, she finally starts to scan super slowly so I guess she just wanted a break. I had barely even had a chance to tap my card much less bag my own items that she is already scanning the next person - don't even have a chance to move over and bag my own stuff. What's next? Asking for a tip? If your employees are so unpleasant and unhelpful - I could just do a self checkout with a security guard watching over my shoulder if you're that scared. Either get better service and training, or let me do my own scanning or I can clock in and do it myself faster.
