After all, we have seen beautifully painted homes all over Sonoma County, so why couldn't we be one? It's because we needed the right help... as in, a professional color consultant. After leafing through the local internet and talking with several such people, we chose Barbara Jacobs. Her portfolio, her confidence, her genuine interest and more were what settled us on her. Barbara came over, surveyed our home and environs, and over coffee, discussed our likes and dislikes. Then over a several week process, we kept winnowing out the close but not ideal colors until we were left with four colors that to us, seemed perfect. It wasn't until Carlos Garcia, the owner of Color Essentials Painting finished up that what seemed perfect...was. We never got there without Barbara, and we certainly would not have again. She demonstrated a wealth of knowledge about color and paint, and was a nice person to interact with. Barbara provided advice that matched our tastes, but also injected helpful ideas we hadn't considered (unlike other designers I've worked who were either too wishy-washy or too pushy). She provides a premium service at premium pricing; the cost will limit how frequently I can use her services, but she certainly provided excellent color advice. My wife and I are very happy with the results.

Communication throughout the process was confusing and ultimately became unprofessional. We…read moreinitially reached out for a staging quote, were told timing might not work, and later had someone come by before we had committed to move forward. We ultimately chose another staging company and then received an unexpectedly hostile email from Angela accusing us of "canceling" despite never signing an agreement or formally booking services. The interaction from the owner Angela was unnecessarily confrontational and left a very negative impression. Very bizarre.
