We picked the Element by Westin because of its terrific location in midtown and that it's merely footsteps away from the Fox Theatre. We loved our stay, everything from the full decked out room (equipped with a microwave, range top stove, fridge, a small sink, dishwasher, plates, pots, utensils, and even a toaster oven) to the super sweet check in. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious and nicely decorated. We loved the breakfast that was included with our stay. I liked how you can order your eggs and/or French toast fresh to order. Arlene, the chef lady, was so pleasant to talk to while she whipped up my eggs. The only issue we had was with the air conditioning vents rattling by our room and keeping us up half the night. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable and we would come back to the Element again when in Atlanta. Know Before you go: * The Element shares the building with the Courtyard. So, if you're staying at the Element, check in is on the second floor. * Parking rate is a whopping $45 a day!!! *They do have a restaurant downstairs, but the menu is very limited. This hotel is actually attached to the Courtyard so initially it's a little confusing where to go for check in. We ended up parking and another guest walking from her car informed us to check in for the Element on the 2nd floor. Very helpful since our friends meeting us went to first floor mistakenly. Yes, I forgot to call them. I was ready to check in and shower. The check in process was fairly smooth and we were handed a welcome bag with a couple small bottles of water. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The shower felt amazing. There's toiletries available in the bathroom which was nice so I put up my personal shower wash. We were truly next door to Fox theater for our event which was very nice. Breakfast in the morning was a nice spread. Kyle greeted us quite enthusiastically Juan did an excellent job on the French toast and fritattas. All staff were very pleasant. Check out was a tad interesting. I approached and said we were ready to check out and there was silence. I completely zoned out for a moment and the silence continued until I realized I needed to provide my name and room number. Chose Element Marriott Atlanta expecting standard Marriott quality, based on prior stays and 20+ years of frequent travel--experience fell far below expectations. Positive interactions: dining staff, housekeeping, and engineering were courteous, professional, and helpful. Negative experiences: Breakfast misinformation: told it runs 7-10 a.m., but on a weekday it ended earlier; arrived at 9:45 a.m. and was turned away. Noise issues: 14th-floor room had disruptive footsteps above; move to 15th floor promised but mishandled and delayed by front desk. Unprofessional staff interactions: repeated confusion, curt tones, and raised voices from front desk employees during room move and package inquiries (specifically with Jercy over the course of 3 days). Shower issues: new room shower had half water pressure; repair left debris, tools, and mess; front desk regarding housekeeping unresponsive for hours - was unable to bathe prior to event. Cleanliness problems: stained towels, hair on towels, trash not emptied, prior patch work of molded area, bathroom floor and kitchen tiles damaged, evidence of prior repairs. Daily inconvenience affected health: unable to shower, but have chronic pain condition, which impacted mobility and participation in planned activities. The service was amazing from check-in, the complimentary breakfast, and check out. The only thing we didn't love was the price of parking. As people from out of state visiting Atlanta for the first time, having to pay for parking everywhere was sort of a culture shock to us. I'm still leaving a 5 star review though since the parking garage felt safe when we returned to the hotel late after the concert we were in town for. The room was clean to my neat freak standards and we had no issues with anything during the stay and the friendly staff called our room to ensure we were having a good stay. I also want to add that I love how they have made to order eggs at breakfast instead of the typical precooked scrambled eggs I've seen at a majority of other hotels' complimentary hot breakfast. Loved this hotel. I'll start by saying that I travel at least 3 times per week, for work. This stay was a quick, personal trip. The front desk staff were lovely, helpful and accommodating. Room was very clean, updated, equipped with a full size kitchen, sitting area, desk and two comfortable queen beds. Decent, walkable area in Midtown. Easy walk to a few brunch spots, coffee and the FOX Theater is directly across the street. 10 min drive to East ATL nightlife and restaurants. Will definitely return to this hotel. read more

This is hands down my favorite hotel in ATL now, and I've stayed at quite a few. Aside from loving the good location, the whole vibe of the Element hotel is tranquil. The rooms are clean and comfy, bed is perfectly firm enough for good sleep, and I love having the kitchen aspect with a fridge. Jazz (manager) and the rest of the staff were all so helpful and kind on my most recent stay. It takes a lot of stress off when I'm in a city for work when the hotel makes it this easy to relax. This was a nice hotel but the parking fee was absolutely ridiculous! $36 per day is insane! Is it just me and is that to be expected in that area of Atlanta? I knew going there that there was a parking fee. But I assumed that I would just be able to find a space on the street! No! Not in that area! Once we drive up the winding driveway to park, took the elevator to the front desk, our room wasn't ready! It was almost 3pm. I know that's probably before check in time but I just assumed it would be ready since I indicated in the app what time I would arrive. So we left to get food and it was ready when we returned a couple of hours later. Our room was very clean with a nice view. The breakfast was ok. Do NOT stay at this hotel if you don't want housekeeping to steal from you. During Christmas, we had to end our stay early due to a medical emergency, and in a rush, I left behind some custom jewelry in our room's bathroom, so we notified the front desk. They let us know they would retrieve it and we could pick it up in the morning. We didn't worry because we figured we could trust the hotel... Well, we were WRONG. They claim no one entered the room, and the RUDE person posing as the hotel manager (later, we find out he's the assistant and doesn't even know where the actual hotel manager is), said only housekeeping entered the room. So we figured, awesome, they should do what's correct and pressure their hotel staff into coming clean. But no. Artis Fields (the fake hotel manager) said he wouldn't "admit his hotel staff stole anything even if they did". He then proceeded to yell "See You Next Tuesday" as in C.U.N.T. After reporting their hotel to Marriott and going through the proper channels, NO ONE is willing to help. They're a franchise and adhere to their own rules which is apparently stealing from guests and Marriott seems to not care one bit. The claim was processed in such a way that it's their word against ours but WE have two witnesses and they have none but the cameras that show housekeeping going in the following morning, which therein, lies the proof. INSANELY awful. I'm out hundreds of dollars and wasted precious time on these clowns. It took months, and countless emails, to get responses. It was like pulling teeth. This place is shht show. Stay away at all costs. read more

A newer hotel in Midtown, across the street from the Fox Theater. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful no matter the hour. I like that instead of the "Do Not Disturb" signs you put on the door handle, they gave magnetic ones that goes right below the room number. No more turning the table and the signs falling off. We really enjoyed the location. Lots of shops and eateries within walking distance. The only downside is the entrance gets a little confusing. There are two hotels with the same loading area. They also use the same main elevators to the rooms. read more

We stayed there Friday, January 10th, to Saturday, January 11th, driving back to Chicago during a snowstorm. The rooms were spacious, clean, and modern . The service was great! In particular, a worker in the breakfast area was helpful to me and my family , Kyle Duarte made sure we had a clean table big enough all of us (4) and helped my kids get their food to the table. This place saved us from a stay in a subpar VRBO! The price was great (around $169 per night) and the room was clean. Pillows were super soft and linens were fresh and white. Bathroom was really well lit and shower was spacious. Floor to ceiling windows didn't have a great view and faced some apartments and hotel rooms but they had great shades (a transparent layer and a blackout curtain). Only negatives is parking in the attached public garage was $32 additional but it was damn convenient and well lit and clean. The phone in the room didn't seem to work either but we really didn't need the regular coffee or extra towels for the one night. read more

Why a 1-star rating for a very nice hotel? Because if you have a car, you may discover - like I did - that there is literally no place to park it in the lot affiliated with the hotel. Even after you've paid $32 for parking. All spots were filled last night. Cars were parked in front of elevators. In front of stairwells. Anywhere that didn't completely block traffic, which made navigating the lot unsafe. The front desk staff were instructing guests to park in handicapped spots. It's really a shame. This was a really nice hotel!! The room was clean and very spacious. I had a room with 2 queen beds and it had a couch and long desk in order to work. The room had a full refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, silverware and cooking equipment. The room didn't have the best view but we were out exploring Atlanta so we didn't need a nice view. The manager Jasmine was very friendly and welcoming. She gave us excellent customer service when she checked us in and she helped make my birthday very special! The hotel came with complementary breakfast- it was only fruit, crepes and pancakes but it was very delicious. If you want a less healthy breakfast, the hotel is connected to another Marriott where you can go downstairs for a full breakfast menu. Overall 5/5 hotel, I would stay again and I definitely recommend! read more

This hotel & their staff went above & beyond and just made our stay that much more of a positive experience! The care & hospitality that they've shown has been the best I've ever received at a hotel stay! We've had AMAZING interactions so far w/ Michael, Desirae, Sheree, Ariel, Siyanni, Arlene & Chef Lameen (and yes I had to make sure I got all of their names! Lol). Even just calling to ask questions about the hotel before we even got into town, they've never made us feel like we were being an inconvenience, they were MORE than helpful! I took my husband and 3 kids to see a show at the Fox. I picked this hotel since it's super close and because they had free hot breakfast. I got a huge room (800sf) with 2 queens and a sofa bed so everyone had room to sleep. For the queen beds with room for 4 people to sleep, there was ONE nightstand. Like, really? The room was spacious, but had very little furniture. There was no drain plug in the sink. My biggest issue was breakfast. My husband and the 3 kids went down 44+ minutes before breakfast ended. The only freshly-cooked option was eggs with kale, sweet potatoes, corn, and chicken sausage. No way the kids were going to eat that, nor would I. The man cooking it said he could not just cook some eggs alone. They were out of yogurt and other items. They ended up eating toast and muffins. Breakfast was a big disappointment. This place has so much potential but the poor management and god awful service will keep holding it back. Their website states that they have a 'full buffet', 'american buffet', etc. It's so far from the truth. It's a continental breakfast with 1-2 hot options and if you have dietary restrictions or preferences, you're out of luck. During check in, our agent was so beyond welcoming and friendly and within 2 hours, he acted as if I ran over his dog. I'm a Platinum elite, which usually means you'll get a nicer room or upgrade. I asked for an upgrade and was placed in a handicap room with roll-in shower, which means water all over the floors. Most rooms of my type have a dishwasher as it's an extended stay, ours did not. No biggie right? You have a sink and soap. Guess what? We didn't have any sponges. Our dishware was incomplete as well. Good thing I didn't want to eat anything out of a bowl because I had one. The first time I took a shower, I was surprised to find that the shower was out of bath/shower gel. Seriously? Do the folks here even inspect rooms prior to checking folks in? I guess they do for third party reservations. I seriously have zero idea why my status is a thing because I surely wasn't shown any respect or appreciation. So let's get back to breakfast. The first morning, I see they have individual fritatta's. I love fritatta's well, unless they're egg white frittata's. Guess what? It was egg white fritattas! I asked the cook if they have anything else or was told "no". So it was this or french toast, bread that was cut into thirds. So if you wanted savory or high protein hot food but you don't like egg whites or have an egg allergy, you're screwed. The cappucino/espresso machine had no milk in it and watching everyone fumble with the machine was fun to watch. I think I told more guests that it didn't work compared to staff. The second morning, I was more hopeful that breakfast wasn't going to be straight garbage. Sadly, it was straight up trash. This day, they didn't have overnight oats like they did the first day, bummer. The hot meal was 1 item, avocado toast. But it wasn't toast. It was an english muffin that wasn't even toasted all the way through with a thin slather of premade avocado mash with zero seasoning and some kind of 'sauteed' kale that wasn't trimmed properly topped with an egg how you like it. I took one bite and spit it out. It was absolutely disgusting. Then the icing on the cake? The breakfast attendant starting pulling breakfast 10 minutes before closing. Pulling plates, cutlery and food items. I asked her what time breakfast ended and she said "9:30", I looked at my phone and said "then why are you pulling it 10 minutes early?" She just went back to clearing. It's absolutely astonishing how they have so many people working here yet there's nothing getting done. But good news! They constantly had people sweeping the garage! Too bad you can't sleep there. I've currently been waiting 10 days to hear back from management after escalating TWICE. If you think management will solve your problems, don't hold your breath. This place is a pig with lisptick and you're better off at a Motel 6. Look elsewhere. read more

So impressed with this 3 day/2night stay. My family of 4 traveled to see the season finale NFL game. We booked the 2 Queen studio and we had more than enough space plus a full kitchen which helped with leftovers/groceries we brought down. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We were able to do early check-in before heading to LegoLand and then Ponce City Market which are all less than 5 miles away. Parking was $32/day and charged to the card on the room which was so easy to handle. The breakfast crew were so polite, warm, and friendly! I enjoyed heading down for the free complimentary breakfast each morning. A deciding factor was the hotel was healthy lifestyle influenced so the breakfast options were awesome, fresh, and healthy. MOST IMPORTANT REVIEW: the hotel was very clean, quiet, and away from the Downtown life. Awesome views of Fox Theatre and around the corner from a DELICIOUS Jamaican restaurant, Negril.
