I had a slow leak from a discharge pipe​ on my water heater. Couldn't figure out what the problem was I was concerned that anybody that came here would automatically recommend putting in a brand new expensive water heater. They sent Sebastian over he diagnosed and fixed the problem in about 1 hour for a very reasonable price since just needed a minor repair. This review is concerning a quality of service. I had a problem with the bathroom shower. When I was turning the shower on, the faucet and the shower were turning on the same time. The gentleman who came to fix the problem change the faucet to make it work. When I have seen that he was done and requested payment, I mentioned that he did not sealed around the new faucet and his respond was "I DO NOT HAVE THE SEALANT WITH ME". He did not even bother to apologize or tell me that he will come back to do it. He charge us $225.00 and the job is not completely done. Sorry but I don't recommend this company. read more

We needed emergency service on Sunday morning with toilets and sinks backing up and of course company coming for a birthday dinner. Elvis, Elek's emergency service plumbing technician, was here at our home within a hour. Service restored and wonderful insights provided. Do not put grease down a drain or garbage disposal. I learned a hard lesson, but thankfully all is well and birthday celebration was a success. While it is not inexpensive to have emergency service, it did save the day and therefore well worth the cost. read more

An absolutely terrible experience. We had an emergency with drain overflow. Called and was told $99 to have someone come out and investigate, which was waived with service. Guy took 2+ hours to determine septic line was clogged, which he couldn't service, and to give us a quote for replacing well tank, installing a softener, etc. Continuous high pressure sales bs throughout. We declined that $5000 estimate, and were presented a bill for $400 for the time he was here. Much of which was giving a quote for unrelated things. My partner balked at that, and he lowered the quote to $4200. We told him we would not be paying either, that it was absurd to bill for giving a quote, and paid the original $99. I can't imagine how many elderly people, or people easy to take advantage of these plumbers have ripped off with similar tactics. read more

Requested a quote for rough plumbing of 2 apartments. This was for running water lines and drains for 1 bath and 1 kitchen for each unit. The quote was for rough plumbing only which includes water lines and drains to each kitchen and bath. It did not include water heaters, faucets, showers , baths tubs, sinks or toilets. The quote came in at $45,000 dollars to complete what would amount to 2 days work at the most! The water lines, drains and connectors are very inexpensive. The labor worked out to about to about $2800/hr! This was probably the most expensive quote I ever received in my 50 years of dealing with contractors. I hope if you consider this contractor you get a few quotes to compare! When I emailed the company to express my shock at the quote. I was told to contact the company to discuss the quote. I emailed back the quote and asked how this could possibly be a reasonable quote! I never heard back by email or phone call! Be careful, it seems like the company throws out absurd bids in the hope of no one is checking competing bids! BTW.....the bid was nearly 8 times higher than the median bid of $6000!! read more

Extremely dissatisfied with a non emergency job. Overcharged for a simple dishwasher installation and they did not complete the task. They refused to adjust the price when they determined that they could nor complete the job. I had to bring in another contractor to finish the job. read more

Called Elek Plumbing for drain clogged, I had one of the online coupons for $50.00. They said the guy that comes will give us a price. I asked if I could use the $50.00 coupon they said yes just give to technician. When he came he quoted an outrageous price to run a snake. We said no, The charge to come out was $99.95 but I had the $50.00 coupon the operator said I could use. The technician said I couldn't use it because I didn't approve for them to do the job. They are liars, cheaters..... DON'T CALL THEM IN THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! Update: Called and complained and they said they will refund us the $99.95. Just read coupon closely and be careful with this company!! read more

The coupon is a cheap marketing scheme and they overcharge by a lot. Everyone working there is trained to charge as much as possible.

David came out right away on a holiday weekend, which I wasn't expecting at all. I was told upfront I'd be paying an emergency surcharge, and because I needed my clogged kitchen sink fixed immediately, I accepted it. I had called around to other plumbers but no one picked up. David was already really personable on the phone and based on the other Yelp reviews, I decided to give Elek a chance. He was prompt, efficient, clean, and explained everything he was doing. The definition of professionalism This was probably the best experience I've ever had with a service related company. From my initial contact with the company, to the dispatch of the service technician, each person was well spoken, polite, knowledgeable and professional. The time from my initial call to the time the technician arrived was under 2 hours (2 days before Christmas!) I was kept informed as to the time the technician would arrive and informed of the work that needed to be done and how much it would cost. The technician was obviously experienced and very knowledgeable. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The technician at my request, did more work than was originally requested and was eager to make sure I was satisfied with the work he did before he left. I had Elek do a large job for me in the 80s, did a great job. Fast forward to 2021, I called about a leaky faucet in my bathroom. They asked for 100 dollars to come out and look and give me an estimate. My 100 dollars would be deducted from same. I get why you can't work for free, no money no business. I called in January. Woke up on a Saturday to find the water heater leaking from the base. Called Elek they were able to dispatch Scott to come by same day. He was so quick with it and the cost was so reasonable, I figured I'd ask about water softener systems, having no experience with how they work, how much they cost, etc. He took the time to educate me and provided options. Agreeing to move forward, Scott came back next day and completed the install. By Monday, we had hot, clean, and SOFT water! Fantastic experience!! The day after Thanksgiving the basement floor drain backed up. Asked some neighbors, did some google research the called Elek at 8:30 Sat morning and left details with their answering service. Had a call back 30 minutes later, and Chuck was at my house 1 hour after that. Inside of 2 hours he had found the right drain clean out, cleared the clog and meticulously cleaned up after himself and was rolling back out my driveway. Their prompt service call turned a holiday mess into nothing more than a good story to tell at work on Monday. Great job, great attitude, great service, fair price. We had a block in our sewer line (from bathroom to the septic -a distance of 30 feet or so - with an easily accessible clean out pipe). My wife called Elek. They would not give her a rough quote over the phone. After waiting a couple of hours past when they said they would be there.... A young man showed up and before he even started any work, he handed my wife a bill for just over $400! I never got his name.. just asked him to pack it up and leave. The next day we called Roto-Rooter (not a fan of the big companies).. They told us what a snake job would cost . They did the same job quickly and efficiently for $170. read more

I called Elek at 6:00 pm, after business hours. By 6:15 I received a call back and they had a repair person on their way. Within the hour Scott arrived. It only took him minutes to find the problems. In less than an hour he had everything fixed ... a cracked water pipe, a pressure gauge, and another loose piece. I could not be more pleased with the service I received. I cannot dish out enough positive praise for this local, family owned and run business. I had a sink emergency ( my large heirloom earrings went down the drain not only causing panic but flooding ) and they couldn't have been nicer or more efficient when I placed a call. The woman who answered was pleasant and felt sorry for my predicament. She told me she would send out a technician within 2 hours. 45 minutes later, Eddie appeared at my door with a smile and tool kit in hand. I showed him to my powder room and within mere minutes my earrings were in hand and the sink was clear. I've spent hours of my life waiting for service companies to show " between 12-7 " only to be stood up or have them show at 6:55. I was blown away by how quickly they handled my situation. Yesterday I had a very stressful day trying to find a plumber to help me with my leaking hot water heater with no luck. Those other companies were all booked and would not be able to help me for several days. So this morning I called ELEK Plumbing and they immediately sent me a team of two plumbers. I was so impressed at the speed at which they came. David and Jody are wonderful people, a great team! I felt so comfortable having them in my home because they are so warm hearted and so very professional. They immediately knew what was going on with my water heater and explained my options which was limited because of the condition of the water heater. Their pricing for a new water heater is competitive and easy on my budget. I agreed and they immediately sprung into action and it was amazing how little time it took them to install it. After having two other companies come out who were unsuccessful in locating the blockage in our drain, Mr. Marshall had it cleared in under an hour. Where the others gave a verbal estimate to dig up our yard to find the blockage, he cleared it at 1/4 the cost estimate from the others. Good company, excellent plumber. read more

First off I never have written a review here. I requested service from Elek Plumbling. Not a rush job but wanted to get an outside spigot replaced if they had time. It was great that came out the same day. I requested a estimate on the phone and was advised that the tech would let me know before the work was started. There was a $69 truck roll fee that needed to be paid even if I did not have any work preformed. Once the tech showed up he looked at the job and stated there is a flat rate fee for the work of over $300. God, looking at this problem the job should have taken no more then 30-40 mins and parts where around $40. The parts where not on the truck and to run to the store. Came back and work was compete in short order. The tech did not test the work and when I hooked up a hose the spigot was leaking everywhere. Had another tech dispatched to fix the problems. What gets me is the fact I asked for a price and was not given one on the phone even though it was a flat rate job, yet was still on the hook for the $69 if I did not want the work done once I found out the price. The price of the work was, in my opinion, more then double what should have cost. I will say that the techs where professional as well as the call takers. read more
