Decided to go in and maybe give these guys a try. I get a lot of stuff media blasted and powder coated in the area but never tried Electro Tech. Went in today with a few small parts to have media blasted as a trial. The guy at the front desk was somewhat standoff-ish from the very beginning. I asked some simple questions about his experience with masking complex parts and he wouldn't answer the questions in any detail. He just seemed like he hated his job and didn't want to answer any questions. Didn't give me confidence to leave 53 year old rare engine parts in his care. I asked him if everything was ok because he seemed frazzled. He just looked at me and muttered some response. I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. No idea how good their work is and I'll never know. But if their work is anything like their customer service, I would avoid them. It's a shame because I have lots and lots of parts that need blasting and refinishing. Customer service is key and the guy I met had zero skills in that department. Oh well, there are other shops in the area that would appreciate my business. read more

I just took more parts from my Hillman Husky, that I have been restoring...to be powder coated... they have been easy to work with...quality work...timely ...and fair priced...Adam is very helpful.... My bike was awesome before but now it even more awesome. I hemmed and hawed about it for a long time with conversations that generally went like this: Me: "My bike is scratched up... I think I might get it powdercoated." Friend: "Duuude... what are you thinking... you're riding a classic Colnago - you'll lose detail in the lugs if you powdercoat! Don't do it!" And: Me: "My bike is scratched up... I think I might get it powdercoated." Another Friend: "I heard of this one guy that had a vintage steel frame that the fuckers at the powdercoat place blew a hole in it with their sandblaster. Don't do it!" And: Me: "My bike is scratched up... I think I might get it powdercoated." A Different Friend: "What the hell do I care about your bike for? Get it dipped in shit if you want." So, stomach in knots I took my bike to Electro Tech - I touched my frame gently as the man behind the counter took it, as if to say good-bye. They did an amazing job. The bike looks like new. There is alarming depth to the color. There is a shine like the bike hasn't seen in probably 15 years. There is definition and clarity to the lugs. I had some coating done a few times. Nice work. However, the last time I went in, I got a quote from the front desk. Younger guy from who I usually speak with. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name. I mentioned to him that the quote he gave me was significantly more than what I had recently paid for the same coating on another set of identical parts (exhaust headers). I asked him about it and his response was "well, now it costs $X). I replied with "so you just change prices on a whim?" He shrugged his shoulders. Don't get me wrong, I'd have gladly paid what he quoted this time around because like I said, they did great work. However, it just didn't sit right with me they way this individual responded to me. Didn't get any work done here so I can't speak on that. I just know I am strategically planning out how and where I want to get my wheels and stunt cage powder coated. For you motorcycle owners, you know its not easy stripping down the wheels and what not. I will need to plan out where I'm going to leave my motorcycle and for how long. So I called and spoke with a Rebecca? Not sure if that was her name. But I asked specific questions about prices, time frame, and colors. She seemed like she was busy, which is fair enough, but I still want to know the answers to my questions. She told me the time frame was about 1.5 weeks depending whether they have the color in stock. I then asked if they have transparent gold. I could tell she was becoming frustrated. She said they only have two golds. I asked what the names were. She firmly said to just come in because she doesn't have time to tell me the names of the colors. Well, I guess I am going to Bradford's. It's out of the way, but their customer service is well worth it. read more

I took my beater cruiser frame in for a little powder coating, not expecting too much, but what I got back was incredible! Baron Red is the way to go! Now my only problem is that my bike looks so nice I don't want to take it out for fear it will be scratched up or stolen like the one before was! Called and made an appointment to have my rims painted. Rebecca was very helpful. Electrotech works with Hawthorne Tire in Escondido to remove wheels and delivers them to Electrotech. Once powder coated, the rims are brought back to Hawthorne for remount and alignment. By making the appointment 2 weeks out, I am able to have this done in one day! Most powder coating companies I called do not offer this service (of directly working with a tire company) which left you on your own to have your tires dismounted, delivered to the powder coating co., and left without a car for about a week! No thanks! So thanks to Electrotech I'll have it done in a day! I'll be sure to update this in two weeks when the work is done! read more

So I'm currently building another race/track bike so I took my parts to this place to get powder coated. So I gave him my frame, swingarm, engine covers, mounts, spacers, misc parts...bla bla bla....alot of stuff. I gave them a few parts that were looking bad, I got them back looking better than new! My threads(for the bolts) were clean and protected from the process, all around great service and detailed labor. They did my frame and swingarm three times to ensure that it was perfect! The parts are done quickly and correctly with very high quality.....every time! I read one review where the guy didn't get all the answers he wanted over the phone. This company is an absolute rip-off and the owner, Adam Mitchell, does not stand by his company. Without going into detail let's just say that they lost a part of something I had powder coated and then denied it. It will cost me lots of money to replace this part. Brought in an old tandem bicycle frame that was starting to rust because of lack of paint. They did a much better job than I was expecting. They know how to work on bicycle frames, so I didn't have to reface any threads. Took just a bit longer than what they said, but the wait was worth it - I picked out some colors that required multiple coats and was a complicated job.
